@@jakewagner1143 yeah idk if you watched his Tracker TV18 build but I have that boat too and I got the inspiration to custom build a center rod locker and all that stuff from that build. I used carpet instead of turf tho because I got the carpet for free and I didn’t like how the lined turf looked
To be honest. Tb nation isn't that amazing. Sure he does some things good but he still has a lot of learning to do. As a lifelong fabricator this is the way these boats need to be built.
Awesome work Matt! I love seeing all the tiny boaters crushing in tourneys against full size bass boats... I will get my 14 ft V there soon... craziness you got that kind of speed out that size motor. 🐟💪✌
I like your channel been watching for a long time.your have progressed into a good fisherman and you are a good person ad far as I can tell.i like how you are for the kids.kids need good roll models and there aren't alot of them out there these days. Keep doing you and good thing will come as you have already experienced.
That was a sweet rig. I really liked how sleek it was..he needs to ditch that grey fuel hose though. The inside lining breaks down and wreaks havoc on fuel systems.
Man this is just nuts - your vids have been popping up regularly and I rarely check dates I just tap and watch, but apparently I hadn't subscribed to your channel yet until earlier today! I could have sworn that I sub'd to you like 2 years ago! Lol anyway appreciate your vids man, good luck and keep castin'
I have that same boat, with a Merc EFI 20 horse on it. get about the same speed but I'm carrying 3 AGM's and a 24v troller. Its a great boat to fish from, it will go anywhere. He's definitely right about it being rocky up front, especially on lakes where folks are flying by at 70.
Do you or John have any suggestions on how to get a twist out of an aluminum rivet Jon? I bought the boat and story goes, it fell off the trailer and got a bit of a twist near the rear of the boat. It floats and is fishable but the port side sits about 2” lower than starboard side? Broke and hoping for some help!
Let him know he's going to start building one for a flipper in Central Florida soon, just a heads up and and thanks for your videos I really enjoy them.
Such a sick boat…really doesn’t get any better unless your fishing big tournaments or really big water(st. Clair/Great Lake size) I love my aluminum boat it’s a scrappy little thing not quite as nice as these lol
What would he charge to put a casting deck and a small little deck in the back I have a 14ft x 5 foot wide john boat I have the sheets of aluminum just no way to cut it down the put it together
@@dontnonowuno9953 it does? I must’ve missed the steering console, power poles, 225 outboard, rod lockers, bench seats, and all the rest of the stuff a $75k boat comes with 🤦♂️ Feel free to look at my channel, I bought a 500 dollar bass boat with trailer, spent 400 bucks on supplies including a trolling motor, and fished the hell out of it. And I towed it with a Prius 👍🏻
That dudes truly an artist. His builds are sick and 22.5mph with two guys is crazy
Thank you!
Matt is a beast man dude does killer work never disappoints me! Great work dude
25 mph with a 9.9hp is pretty impressive.
He’s giving TBNation a run for his money with some of these builds. They look incredible
Better than TB for sure. The welding he does instead of just rivets can make a big difference. Master of laying turf too.
@@jakewagner1143 I tend to agree with you. I feel like TB cuts a lot of corners too
I still have mad respect for them too. Almost finished building my own boat with all aluminum, turf, and electrical and it is a ton of work

The channel is going in the right direction!
Heck yea. Downs is the master of jon boats.
Dude is doing big things! So happy for you man Rock that ish. Matt I hope to be dealing with you soon!
5k seems reasonable from the quality of the build!

Man where are ya? Been dying for the notification of a new video!
Jon boats have come a long way,,,,, nice job.
Digging that graph mount on the front 💪
Nice ride!! Love the attention to detail!
One BADASS Jon Boat!!!! Very nice work there and fun to watch from start to finish. Something like that would put smile on anybodies face. Be Safe
Appreciate it brotha!

$5,000 is a hell of a deal

Such a prime boat if your not fishing major tourneys it really doesn’t get any better than a solid aluminum
100%. Jon boats are the wayyyyyy
Man he builds a sick tin boat, that thing was bad,25mph in that is movin
Sick riiide!!!
Nice fabrication work for sure.
Yup 👌👍😎
Dude where are you? Give us some videos! Lol
Behind you on 122 at Smith Mountain Lake.
Nice boat
Sick video yah I got a 14ft wide vhaul tracker 2012 wide boat nothing in it be sick get it deck out got a 15hp Johnson wireless trolling motor 55lb

Nice looking build
5k + the boat, correct?
Hey SB, question what’s your favorite lake to fish in the DMV? I really enjoy your fishing videos gg.
Occoquan rez
I need to start rebuilding boats I loved rebuilding my my bass boat maybe it won’t take two years to build another one
Bro you really on top of your game pal. When are you gonna have those graph bridges for sale I need one in my life.
I see it listed here: professionalweldinginc.com/marine-fab Going to pick one up too.
Dude puts on an external fuel filter but uses grey hose for connections :D other than that i'll take it!
What if you already have the boat and trailer? I’m looking into getting my Jon boat fixed like that.
$5k is the cost of the build (not including boat/trailer)
@@SBFishing ok sweet thank you time to save more money!!!!!
Sick ass rig
How many damn boats you have?

If I had the money I'd get him to build a 16ft version of that boat
And suddenly, I remembered I could order a 1648 Grizzly SC with a 9.9 for like 13 grand...
Pretty sure they don’t even make a tracker 1448 anymore. Smallest size out from tracker now is a 1648.
nice!
No flotation? Great build, but with a possibly fatal flaw.
I can’t believe it was only 5 thousand. I wouldn’t have thought it was way more then that.
I could’ve purchased two complete used bass boats for that price… I’d expect it to be less than half the cost 💲
fuckin sick
I love his models, but I'm surprised that there's no gasket lining on any of the openings.
Not needed, all of he hatches have a built in tract with a drain leading to a tube to the bottom of the boat so none of the compartments get wet
Do you have any contact info for him? I don't have Facebook or Instagram. I'm interested in getting my grizzly 1648 built
Scott, you can contact Matt through his website pw-marine.com (757) 853-9371
Thanks man I appreciate it!

Not gonna lie…it’s nothing to write home about 🤷♂️
Shit comment 🤷♂️
It was a alluminum Jon boat piece of crud and now has everything a 75000 rig has ,just smaller. You must be rich 😉
You can tow it with a Prius. I'd write home about that. 😁
