Why is the outboard different throughout the video it switches from the newer graphics and the old one that just say mercury outlined in red

I want to try to build a rod locker for my bass tracker. If I use 1” angle aluminum 1/16” thick and 5/32 rivets would that be strong enough. I’d like to be able to sit on it sometimes. The lid will be 1/2” plywood.
Section it off in 1 foot span and it will be strong enough. But I would use inch and a half instead of 1 inch.

When u build a Vframe as such, can u try some off shore stuff? Put on some cleats so u can tie a biggun off the side?
