Cottage Garden Inspiration, Planning and Estate Sale Finds

Welcome!
In todays video I'll be sharing my inspiration, plans and estate sale finds for the garden. I love cottage garden style! I am drawn in by the coziness, informality and freedom to fill the space with decor and plants I love. I also want to incorporate some other design elements and I've been drawn to the French garden style. Some elements we will be working to add are hedges, a circular shaped area and cement fountain as a focal piece. I'm so excited to fill the space with roses (especially more climbing roses!), shrubs, colorful flowers and vintage garden decor.
I am definitely still learning so much about gardening and plants. My backyard is my favorite place to be and I would love to continue to grow it and get some last minute projects done. I am stepping into the garden late, I had hoped to be planting in Spring but its already Summer! So I'm going to focus on a small space so plants can start getting established before the high temperatures.
I'll be sharing my plans for DIY projects like creating plant markers with vintage silverware, creating garden art with cement cast molds (I am so excited for a ornate frame mold!) and adding lattice work to our pergola.
I also will be sharing our garden decor estate sale finds! We've recently picked up a lot of decor like garden pots, a vintage wrought iron table, and cement fountain and bench. Shopping at flea markets, estate sales, thrift stores and other secondhand stores for garden decor is so much fun! (and a lot more affordable!) We'll definitely be doing more coming up!
We won't be getting to the decorating just yet! Today we'll just plan/brainstorm and start prepping the project area.

That is a really good point! It would be a more permanent decision if painted. I'll definitely have to spend more time to decide
