I have been around the Whiskey River Railroad for many years. I remember seeing the No. 5 in the shops as it was being built. So glad to see it out and running. Merrick Light Rail really knows how to build just about everything trains.
Very interesting documentary of Billy Jones, and the railroad. He was born the same year as your great-grandparents, Edwin & Rose, who were also born in 1884.
Excellent and well done video, thank you! I am gonna play this one for my grand son tomorrow after we visit BILLY JONES WILDCAT RAILROAD!! P.S. He totally enjoyed his ride behind Butter Pig at your Christmas event in Willow Glen.
It’s was a marvelous day indeed! The Big No. 5 is to powerful for the railroad the engineers say.. She can literally pull every piece of equipment, time 2..!!
Here’s an interesting fact about the paint scheme of 3502 it’s inspired by the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad recently 3502 was given a Nathan K3LA horn They adjusted the pitch for it to be quiet but be able to have the exact sound

That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing 😃🚂
Amazing video I can’t wait to see more about this railroad. I also know that number two has a sister who is privately owned.

Thanks for the kind words! We’ll be running the Train this Halloween if you’re around as well 😊🚂
Fascinating! Let's all hope it forever survives and thrives. As for a steam double header, what a sight and sound that must be!

Steam locomotive #5 (to me) looks similar to steam locomotive #1919 on the Whiskey River Railway in Marshall, Wisconsin
Another great documentary, Evan!!!
Thank you ❤️❤️
