The best lifestyle in the world. Maybe not much money. But more enjoyable and healthy and better relationships. Dosent take long and we are old and die and all the money we make and assets we get. Are a waste of time we can't take them with us. And the next generation won't appreciate them. Everyone to there own. But what's the point working all your life just to be rich. By then we are to old to enjoy it and just die anyway.
What is this show about? I've been watching it on RUclips for a while, still can't figure out the plot...I refuse to Google it. Now the Manor Born that's a show I love!
@@gamers7800 Its about 2 married couples who live side by side. One couple quits the day to day grind to become self -sufficient (live off the land, raise pigs and chickens and grow vegetables) while the other couple are made up of a working professional and his ultra conservative wife played to the absolute hilt by Penelope Keith (she walks off with the show in my opinion). 4 seasons of 6 episodes with 2 specials. A time capsule of life in the British suburbs. The DVD is worth every penny.
I don't know whether it's the script or Briers's interpretation of his character, but I'm tired of Tom referring to 'my garden', 'my' this and 'my' that. He doesn't deserve a hard-working, ultra-supportive, upbeat wife like Barbara.
The more I watch it, the more I loathe his character. So childish, so sexist. The overacting didn't help either. Recently got The Norman Conquests on DVD from Network and I love him in that. Similarly childish and selfish but somehow much more likeable.
classic 70's comedy at its best
If anything, the good life is a great show that can't leave one feeling differently inside, better than before.
After watching this series thus far, I only just realized that it's the Tom and Jerry show.
You aren't the first to catch on to the pun. How about the Goods (the good) and the Leadbetters (the better).
🤭

“I don’t suppose he meant it anyway.!”😂😂😂
Margot was 100% on the button. One of the rare times I agreed with her.

4:05 Flick looking soooo hot in leather ;-)
Despite having had the phone disconnected, you can just make out a telephone on Tom and Barbara's hall table at 8:10.
moral decline during that time?...goodness me,wish they could see the 'real moral decline' of today
I thought guns were illegal in England?
Used to watch this when I was a kid. Felicity Kendall was the definition of 'perky' but I always thought that Richard Briars overacted the whole time.

@@brain8484 Richard briers hated his character he thought he was a jerk.
