I would like to propose a challenge to Above First Class. If you could find an employee of an AD to come on camera with their identity and voice hidden to answer your questions of how they sell to new customers versus flippers, your followers would sky rocket! 🚀

    • @steverobertson6393
      @steverobertson6393 2 года назад +1

I don't think Above First Class really gives AD's a fair shot.
Sure, some dirt bags in Miami (pure speculation with no offense to dirt bags) who are AD's will move inventory to flippers straight away, but outside that market I do not believe they do.
      It's a simple idea really.
Why would an AD sell en bulk to a flipper when they could sell them to customers who would then become customers of the store and could be invited back or enticed to buy other items.
      It doesn't make any sense.

In 2019 I wanted a few Rolex and believed they were going to only get harder to acquire in the future. Picked up an Explorer, DJ41, Submariner, and a GMT. I have Rolex covered and love them all. My AD hasn’t called for anything since the end of 2019 and at this point I don’t care 😎!

The "shortages" are as fake as rolex's charitable status.
Rolex does not want to fix anything as they are profiting from the situation. They will continue to do so for as long as their "marks" are stupid enough to jump through hoops to buy a product every one will assume is fake.
I would sum up Roly customers by simply stating that a fool and their money are easily parted.

No, the ADs are now used Rolex watch shops and the new watches are display only to pacify consumers. The new models go to high volume clients (a.k.a. Flippers) that take unwanted jewelry off the hands of the AD. The wait list is also a pacifier. Rolex isn’t going to be Patek, it’s going to end up like Panerai. Rolex watches are too easy to fake and they’re not haute horlogerie, they bling for unsophisticated people.

Stop selling to Grey Market Dealers . Around 300 brand new Rolex watches per day on Chrono24 .
10,000 Rolex Daytonas on Chrono 24 for sale daily . Not exactly rare . Also if everyone one decided to stop buying Rolex on the Grey Market the Price would fall to normal levels .
ROLEX are nice watches but not worth paying way over retail for .

Good job highlighting the issues. Rolex and the AD could if they wanted sell new collectors who want to buy a watch for a special occasion a Rolex. However, they want us to believe it is because of insatiable demand. So, we as collectors who want to enjoy a Rolex just need to be patient. Rolex secondary prices have dropped in the last five months. Prices may spike for the holiday season, but I think collectors will find other brands that will cool demand for Rolex because they offer better value. Plus the current worldwide recession will broaden and cool off demand further for Rolex. Once the flippers cannot make a quick buck, the secondary market won’t pay the premiums and Rolex prices will fall below their current 2-3X premium level! Collectors just need to be patient.

I started my relationship with my AD in September 2020 and got my first Rolex watch in January 2021 with only a few hundred pounds spent on other things, since then I have had another 2 steel sports models with only another maybe £1000 sent on other things. Rolex has taken a page from the diamond market playbook. Create a shortage to increase prices. Diamonds are the most common gemstone on the planet. They are not rare, at all. You could fill a stadium with them. But one family, a cartel basically, controls most of the world's diamond mines... so they stockpile them and only release a small amount each year, to carefully control the supply side, to maximize the demand side and keep prices 100x what a diamond is actually worth.
It should be illegal, but they have deep pockets, and politicians all have a "for sale" price...
Rolex is clearly following in their footsteps...

If I desire a rolex watch now and I got the money, why do I want to wait for months and years when I can get it now? Between time and money, I'd rather spend the money now to have more time on Earth wearing the watch while I'm still living, and we never know if tomorrow will come. Any advice by youtubers that say we shouldn't buy rolex at above retail are all so wrong.
