They are different people. Christopher Sly is the one who got drunk in the beginning. The "Lord" created a play called "The Taming of the Shrew" to trick him (as a game) into thinking that he is someone else (in the play). In reality, he's only watching a play with people acting as people in his life. One of the characters in the play is named Petruchio, who is hoping to tame the shrew, Katherine. (Hence the title of the book.)
Why are we teaching such texts to our kids which treat women as dogs. Are we trying to tell our girl child that they are supposed to act like Katherine, who obeys her husband's just and unjust tantrums.
@@sassyghost_8 It's not Old English. In fact, if it were, you wouldn't be able to even understand anything (Old English would not even really seem much like the English of Shakespeare.) Rather, Shakespeare's English was called Early Modern English, which has many words at least similar to our own. It started in the 1500s to the 1700s, where after English became kind of what we have now. It is confusing, but can be understood. Old English is like a different language.

Is it me or does this book make no sense no offense tho??? Thanks for the audio book btw I would have never survived English 10 😪
It's in older English
Old English is confusing. It does make sense but it takes some getting used to to get an ear and eye for its meaning.

Allie 77 Oh! Good to know! Thank you! 😁
This made me think of how one day, literary works will fall into oblivion because of language evolution.
