Yes, but the one thing there is no point guessing is that it's gonna be Pokemon themed. The adventure book was a welcome breath of fresh air, but here we are again.
My wife just drifted into the room and asked what I was watching, after a solid minute of 'well they normally play computer games but each weekend they do a special episode and this week they have bought Pokemon magazine and are currently struggling to make the Snorlax-you know what, it's just this RUclips channel I watch it's hard to explain...' I now know how you must feel when people ask what you do for a living 😂

I don't see the problem with using staples. It's many a year since I was in primary school, but as I recall when doing any sort of crafting it was always a matter of meticulously following the instructions followed by frantically resorting to tape and staples and extra glue and binder clips in a desperate attempt to stop everything disassembling itself the moment you so much as looked at it or breathed in its general direction.
Well in my primary school class we weren't allowed to use the stapler ourselves and should wait for the teacher. When one kid stapled through their finger, everybody else knew why we weren't allowed to use it by ourselves.

I regret to say this now, but I was one of those haters. Every day, I would leave a rude comment on an Oxtra video, saying "Ha, I bet Ellen can't build a Snorlax Snack Box! She doesn't have the smarts and skills!" Today, I have eaten my words and the crow that comes with them. Kudos to you, Ellen. We now know what you are capable of.
You can not tell me that the makers of Pokèmon Magazine did not have a lot of fun with naming and designing that rubber. Of all the shapes and names available in the Pokèmon universe they went with "Great ball rubber", I refuse to believe that this is a coincidence.
I legit look forward to this show every weekend. I wake up and watch Show of the Weekend every Saturday morning while in bed just like I did with Saturday morning cartoons as a kid, and I love it so much. An excellent way to start the weekend!
this show is the most wholesome, chaotic, and wonderful weekly series i get to enjoy. i swear in my head Luke and Ellen are a pair of felt plushies animated to life
The best part is when this innocent crafting episode took a dark turn and Luke & Ellen discussed in detail how to stage the thumbnails of Ellen cutting off her finger(s) to maximize viewers. Who would have thought Pokemon would have granted us a behind the scenes look at the ruthless RUclips algorithm?
For a better handle, with a long piece of twine, make a loop at each end that passes through the slits on the pink tabs at the top. I'd use a climbing knot for each loop, either a follow-through figure-8 or two half hitches. Diagram of twine: o------------------------o The twine becomes the handle and you don't have to remove the handle to open the box.
I love tuning in to these videos and watching the rapport between these two. I've especially enjoyed Luke's way of introducing the pokemon magazine the last few times and seeing poor Ellen's reactions to these gags. Thank you for all the laughs and smiles!

As much as I like the previous Show of the Weekend, I do enjoy these more since it's just Luke and Ellen goofing off, doing whatever they want, and still be entertaining all throughout. 7:19 The plural of every Pokemon is the same as its singular form! Probably just to save the localizers from having to come up with plurals. Not all side material remembers that though, so it's nice the magazine was correct.
Show of the weekend has changed a lot over the years, from actually talking about and reviewing games, to weird choose your own adventures, to briefly being animal crossing, to Pokémon magazines and the fact they still continue to be funny and the highlight of the weekend just goes to show how entertaining our lovely co-host are

I find it funny that a trainer needs a grownup to help cut cardboard but it’s ok for them to leave home at 10 without an adult and participate in giant monster fighting.
I have to applaud Ellen's careful dedication to cutting out that cardboard! A very nicely constructed box. Feel the comment about lack of pockets, too... It was a saga nearly six years in the making. Many games played, Ellenings inflicted, Choose-your-own-Adventure murders committed, shorks and sea basses caught, and knowledge of Pokemon put on display. But, finally, when Ellen gets a hankering for snacks, she need merely take the feedbag from around her neck, untie the twine, open the flaps, and then it's off to the races. Truly, what times we live in.
Alright, this episode blew my mind because I always thought that the floor of the studio was just like a white hard floor to match the background. The fact that it's carpeted is really throwing me off 🤣

This reminds me of my dad trying to 'transform' my Optimus Prime I got for X-mas (centuries ago), and giving up. Only for me to pick it up and do it w/o the instructions.
Luke's tactic for cutting holes in paper is what I always did (haven't had to cut holes in paper in a very long time now). I'm absolutely horrible at crafty stuff like this. I was never very good at cutting along the lines like Ellen has done. I'd have pretty well ruined that snackbox if I were making it. I do love that they didn't wait to let the glue properly dry to hold the paper and cardboard together, so it starting to unstick itself was pretty funny. The snackbox is actually pretty cute.

Luke's tactic for cutting holes in paper is what I always did (haven't had to cut holes in paper in a very long time now). I'm absolutely horrible at crafty stuff like this. I was never very good at cutting along the lines like Ellen has done. I'd have pretty well ruined that snackbox if I were making it. I do love that they didn't wait to let the glue properly dry to hold the paper and cardboard together, so it starting to unstick itself was pretty funny. The snackbox is actually pretty cute.
