പാമ്പൻ പാലം ഇപ്പോഴും അവിടെ ഉണ്ട്. അന്ന് തകർന്ന പാലം ഇ ശ്രീധരൻ സാറിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ 48 ദിവസം കൊണ്ട് പുനർ നിർമിച്ചു- 6 മാസം ആയിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് അനുവദിച്ച സമയം. ഇപ്പോൾ അവിടെ നിലവിലെ പാലത്തിന് തൊട്ടടുത്തായി പുതിയ പാലത്തിന്റെ നിർമ്മാണം നടന്ന് കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ വെർട്ടിക്കൽ ലിഫ്റ്റിങ് ബ്രിഡ്ജ് അതിന്റെ പ്രത്യേകതയുമാണ്.

ആ കടലിടുക്കിൽ സേതു സമുദ്രം പദ്ധതി പോലും എതിർപ്പ് കാരണം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടി വന്നതാണ്. രാം സേതു ( ആഡം ബ്രിഡ്ജ് ) തകർക്കപ്പെടും എന്നതാണ് കാരണമായത്.

The said Pamban bridge is between Mandapam on Indian mainland abd Pamban island. Both Rameshwaram and Dhanushkodi are on Pamban island. So there is no need of any bridge between these places. Please corrext this error.
