Yaya Toure was the purchase that convinced me that Manchester City really meant business after the takeover. I couldn't believe Barca sold him and the relative silence around the sale surprised me. And Toure was even better in England than I thought he would be. Absolutely amazing footballer.
Yaya is the most important player in Man City’s history. I genuinely don’t think city would be where they are today without him. His agent must have been part of his problem; but Pep also has a clear history of not preferring African players.
I am fortunate to have watch Yaya Touré in the stadium (2014 WC), this man is a hell of an underrated guy, nobody seems to remember him, he is overshadowed by Pep Guardiola, as his last years in City were a shame, but this man could do anything in the midfield, defend, attack, pass, EVERYTHING! Every team has got a box to box midfielder, this man did that 10 years later, when it was isn't the thing that is today
Barcelona fan (culer) here. I'm proud that such a player would play for my team. He was a joy to watch, and what goals, oh my! Even when after in Man City I enjoyed seeing him play. Such a shame Guardiola and him wouldn't be on the same page. One thing I liked of him is that you could see he was a nice guy. But as King Crimson would say on the track "Dinosaur" : "it doesn't pay to be too nice".
Finally someone said it out loud.. yaya toure is by far one of the best players of his generation. The most complete player. It's too conspicuous to ignore. Yaya, Eto'o, etc. Only European player he treated the same was Zlatan and he hates him the same. Maybe bc Zlatan is of Slavic descent. I think Pep harbours something against Africans subconsciously. He's not a bad guy but he's very questionable. Yaya treatment was uncalled for especially at City. He was aging but still had like 2-3 great seasons in him. Could've used him for 2 years at least.
@@afckajjansi I think it's because the acfcon are in the middle of the season instead at end like the Euros or copa America. It's the same reason why there's no asian player in his teams. As for zlatan, it was an ego clash between them.

The best of Rodri can never lace the boot of Yaya....those of us who watched the evolution of City and its players in the past 15 years knows KDB isnt as complete as Yahya, regardless of his brilliant quality we praise today. Yaya had better shot accuracy. Better dribbling skills, better marking/defensive skill. I didn't even watch PL but I watched most of City's games because of Yaya. What a character he was with his seemingly clumbsy appearance fooling everyone with this talent and elegance. He was no less than Busquets talent-wise when he played for Barca and Pep could have talked him into that role easily if he wanted to.
That one amazing season he also equaled the record for direct free kick goals in one premier league season with 4. Side note Ronaldo did 4 two seasons in a row and then Ward-Prowse also did 4 two seasons in a row.
Yaya is to me the best player our club has ever employed and we’ve since done a lot of experimenting with midfielders and wingers to replace a one in a century kinda guy. KDB is a great successor, the best possible really. but looking at Doku, and Foden, and Bobb and even Josko, whether Pep likes it or not Yaya’s fingerprints are all over the DNA of MCFC and i, as a blue, am so grateful for that.
My favorite all time, the athleticism, easy gate and way he looked like he was just cruising didn’t let on how physically imposing he was with crazy skill.
Guardiola is so good both Zlatan and Yaya publicly criticise him… 2 players with the rare ability to turn a losing team into a winning team by their presence alone. What was Pep’s problem I wonder…
In defence of Guardiola, both Zlatan and Dimitri are pretty toxic people who riled the media up as well. Almost all legendary coaches are absolute control freaks, except for maybe Ancelotti. You have to tolerate the man to get the result you want.

His set pieces were a joy to watch. pressing ability, ball winning ability and passing ability. I haven't talked about goals yet. the most complete player offensively and defensively according to the special one Jose Mourinho. few months before leaving city he was considered a retired player, nobody had seen him for ages and he had gave up gaining weight accepting the fact that his career is over... some injuries made pep using him one more time in a crucial match and when we saw him he was a different player (fat). However not only he played well but he earned the motm award and everyone including him believed that he will get more chances so he started working again losing weight and become a beast again but pep told him that its over so he went depressed, regaining weight and then turning back to olympiacos as he promised when he left. fans workship him to this day hes a club legend and everyone was excited seeing him back, he obviously wasnt in a good shape and it took him some time to play but he went in against OFI Crete, he was decent considering that OFI was very energetic and yaya was overweight but he talked with the president saying that he wasnt feeling well with his body and wouldnt want to be a burden to the club so he left to play in a weaker league and club... Yaya had 4-5 quality years but Pep literally destroyed his career, its not about his agend he had his problems ofc but after all he was protecting Yaya the truth is that pep humiliated him but yaya was never creating a problem himself and when things got out of hand even with him being left out of the team seeing pep destroying him he still apologised for his agent instead of complaining about his treatment... As Zlatan said, Pep has no self respect he followed orders from players all his career until he decided to build his teams so that he could act like a jkss.
Obviously 2014 Toure was a GOAT midfielder but this is just stats being misinterpreted completely regarding their meaning. Obviously a midfielder isn’t just going to take potshots all game-he’d get sacked. Strikers miss lots of chances because it’s their job to take shots-loads of them, so only 10% or so go in. Whereas midfielders only take higher value shots on fewer occasions when they present themselves
Agreed, but that still doesn't make it not impressive. Imagine scoring 20 goals in a season while not missing a chance. I know he's a midfielder and taking less shots but it still seems so superhuman.
Well Gundogan enjoyed the same freedom as him for a limited time and he also enjoyed the moments. Ig its running in the city midfield dna. Takeout the main playmaker, give permission to the 2nd mid to go forward and goals will come💥

There was only one Yaya Touré. Player of his breed doesn't exist again.
Yaya Toure is surely (on of) the best Mitfielder ever.
Even Guardiola couldn't win the Sextuple without hilft, wehren he played as a defender!
A true nurture of talent. Imagine if every manager gave him the freedom Pellegrini did. He's imo one of the most talented midfielders of all time (can only think of zizou as more talented) and the most complete CM ever.

You give him the ball anywhere outside the box and it would end up in the back of the net.. The most underrated and under appreciated player.. A true legend of the game.. Thank you for making this video.
As a United fan, I watched Yaya Toure at Man City.. Back then he was the one we all feared not KDB or Silva.. Guy was a beast.
Pep really isn't beating the allegations

Yaya Toure made Manchester City
Yaya was a hell of a player. A midfielder per excellence. He was also skillful for a player with such height
Yaya is one of my favorite players of all time. A versatile, strong, and quality player build like a truck with a canon for a right foot. Busquets was all brain. If he had had at least half of the speed and overall physicality that Yaya had in his prime, he would have been one of the best players ever.
The title should be how an agent partially ruined and changed the fate of one of the greatest midfielder
Nah more like how media was being fed oil money to switch public opinion about probably the best player that ever played for City, but whatever
The agent made good things for him. Don't blame him for Guardiola's fragile ego
Yaya was just beyond incredible!
Yaya Toure.... i still rate him as one of the best box to box midfielders. He was amazing. He was magic.. and it was just awesome watching him. I loved the guy
He's the best ball carrier in history
Even today people still find his profile to be worth being compared to. I don't understand why we have such a conversation about De Bruyne but never did the same for Yaya Toure. A lot of tainted activities outside the pitch destroyed his legacy
Toure could do it all, through balls, dribbling, penalties, free kicks, passing, shooting, defending
There won’t be a player like Yaya in the Prem again
I am a Manchester City fan, I love Yaya Toure but you are wrong although he was a beast - Kevin De Bruyne is his continuation even better!!!
you either never saw Yaya Toure play or you never saw Yaya Toure play. KDB is a totally different kind of player.
@@hristianslavchev6726 watch some football bro kdb is an attacking midfilder and yaya toure is a box to box midfilder you cant compare because kdb cant really defend but yaya cant attack like kdb

KDB's worst nightmare is a non-stop PRESSURE of a CDM. But Yaya, he's different. I've been a city fan since 2010 and Yaya is my favorite player from City, obviously with Kompany and Aguero. But people don't understand how amazing Yaya was. Criminally underrated throughout his career and since his retirement is basically shoved under the carpet other than the occasional reel. People scoff when I say he's better than rodri and kdb but they just show me how little they know about my club. Because Yaya is irreplaceable.
Better free kick taking skill....the only aspect of KDB that may compete with Yahya albeit not better is KDB's assist, long range shot and kdb long range curvy pass....in other technical skill, kdb isnt close
Same here. Since around 2009 nd I agree

One of the underrated players yet among the best midfielder the world has ever seen❤ I still hold you in high regard Yaya🎉 that my brother for the content, South Africa.
It is so unfortunate that sometime agents effect brilliant players in such a way. The thing I couldn't believe when watching Yaya in his Man City days was how influential he was on both ends of the pitch. He was a destroyer when he needed to be, he was in the right spot to intercept when he needed to be, he made the right pass when he needed to, he seemed to score when his team needed to. He was like a custom player on Fifa that you gave all 99s in the stats and played on semi-pro difficulty.
Thank u for this amazing vídeo, i am really glad that u talked about how underrated and mistreated Yaya was at City, he was an amazing player, one of the most complete CM'S to ever played in the prem, definitly top 10🔥
Before Yaya there was Colin Bell. Yaya took Colin Bells crown as City's greatest player, it's just a case of the club and a lot of the fans not giving Yaya his dues.
Would u say prayers like kdb or rodri are better now?
@@ammonia309 Put KDB and Rodri together and they still aren't a match for prime Yaya. He could do everything that they can do but neither can do everything that Yaya could.

I remember watching almost every game that season and i didnt know about this stat but it doesnt surprise me at all, he really was just that effective and what was really fascinating that almost all of these goals were important goals, he didnt score like meaningless hattrick in 5-0 win, but most of his goals were winners, just unbelievable season from him

Read through so many comments looking for this one 😁😁😁😁
I didn't even watch PL but I watched most of City's games because of Yaya. What a character he was with his seemingly clumbsy appearance fooling everyone with this talent and elegance. He was no less than Busquets talent-wise when he played for Barca and Pep could have talked him into that role easily if he wanted to.
0:41 Yaya deserves this respect he was an other worldly player and Pep ruined him. DID HE NO LOOK THIS SHOT?!?!?!!?!?!😭😭😭🔥🔥🔥
So listen to this is my favourite start to any video online right now. ✅
@AfDshneebs185 Accurate assessment 👍🏻
@@tonmoybaidya2743 Yes they are however, any manager that places their feelings ahead of fielding the best team doesn’t deserve the job they have. The whole point of leading people is putting your own emotions aside in order that the decisions you make are based on evidence not emotion.

@@Bruce4lmighty It works for him though, no? Without Guardiola, City would have been another PSG. Every manager has their pros and cons, Pep's pros far outweigh his cons. The players who do fit his style and regimen see great improvement in their overall ability too. Out of all the players who played under him you have less than a handful who complain about the way he conducts himself. Eto'o might love Mourinho, but his best ever season as a footballer was under Pep, who's still at the top of the food chain, meanwhile Mou keeps jumping from league to league taking on smaller teams each time.

A player who id base my whole game around. Had literally everything.
Yaya was someone I desperately wanted at Liverpool. Obviously we couldn't afford him, but what a player. Guardiola likes nimble players who fit his system. Toure, Lampard and many others wouldn't make the cut with Pep. I wish he had gone to Arsenal or Chelsea where he would've got the recognition he deserves. His agent is a real piece of work.
Yaya Toure was the catalyst for Bluez knocking Red Manchester from their perch. They’ve never left it since.

Yaya Toure-what a player who could easily excel in any outfield position on the pitch at the highest level and dismantle opposition like save for goal keeping. played champions league final for Barcelona as a central defender against Wyne Rooney and Christiano Ronaldo man united and came out on top. His set pieces were a joy to watch. pressing ability, ball winning ability and passing ability. I haven't talked about goals yet. the most complete player offensively and defensively according to the special one Jose Mourinho. Yaya was robbed a ballon d' Or or even a FIFA men's player of the year award same as Eto and Drogba in my opinion.
You can’t pocket Yaya cause he was physical and yet skillful and very good with the ball. Has very good shooting too.
Yaya Toure will always be a City legend in my eyes. And even though he doesn’t have a statue outside of our stadium, he will always have a statue in the hearts of our fans. Thank u Yaya🙏
few months before leaving city he was considered a retired player, nobody had seen him for ages and he had gave up gaining weight accepting the fact that his career is over... some injuries made pep using him one more time in a crucial match and when we saw him he was a different player (fat).
He was just too perfect for that position he’ll get the job done no matter what 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 football misses him
