the buildings in AOE4 are in fact hard to distinguish. I'm a new plaeyr and I can barely tell a barrack from an archery range or stables - very minor differences. Not to mention other civs...
Great content, need that for a defensive civ like HRE, I often don't know when to switch from my fc and pickin up relics build order to a more aggro style
i'm a Zhuxi player(plat to diamond level), playing against byz needs me to be highly concentrated in the whole game, because even u kill like 10 villagers, byz can still flood into your base with a crazy amount of army after they reach castle(20+ longbows). So scouting is really important against byz, once you find they are producing lots of armies, you need to supervise ur military production.
I reckon that matchup isn't that difficult if you pull off either a good zhugenu push or FC Mount Lu Academy into Regional Inspection tech to pump castle units
9:33 Okay lets say, you scouted and had that info, and chose to make lancers send em , delay age up/ idle/ end the game. How do you know that the oponent is as you say in the video, "no where near aging up". I get that you see that you have the oportunity to harass , idle etc. but How do you know he's not just 30 seconds away from aging up?
Left click their gold vein. You can see how much gold they’ve gathered. You can then left click your own gold vein and see how much gold you yourself have gathered to get a rough idea of how much gold they are probably sitting on. Also, ideally, you should have had a pretty active scout and known how many villagers they’ve had on gold throughout the game. A sudden transition of lots of vills to gold tends to mean that they will age up soon, but a steady few on gold throughout feudal (especially in conjunction with lots of unit production) tends to mean that gold is going towards eco and blacksmith upgrades, not an age up… though, this specific point is not foolproof. This, combined with your knowledge of their civ and how many villagers they typically have on gold, informs you if they are going for a gold-heavy macro (e. g. fast castle). Byzantine with 5 villagers on gold tells a very different story than French with 5 villagers on gold-French tends to need to mine a lot more gold in general so they may be playing extended feudal with 5 on gold, but the Byzantine player is almost definitely going castle if you see them with 5 on gold, for example. Additionally, you should have a scout with eyes on their military. If they have lots of units, then there is no way they can be close to castle; they spent it all on units. And this is especially true if the opponent has food-heavy units, like horsemen (which is what we see from the Byzantine player in this case). Hope this helps!
this channel is a goldmine of information for players who seriously want to learn the game.
thank you valdemar.
Hahaha so stupid, I would never make any of those mistakes. - Me, a gold player who delays feudal by 2 minutes because I built a mill on my gold
Lmao
Best comment on an aoe vid I've seen in a while 😂
I’ve definitely built a barracks on water instead of a dock 😂
