So glad I watched this video. I've been trying to find the fish I had when I was a child, but could never find it. I always said it looks like a gourami but still couldn't locate it. It was a paradise fish that just had a unique coloring that differed from the rest. It was so peaceful and would interact with me. I loved that fish.
@@markgobuffalo6490 I actually came to the comments to see if it was already discussed. I literally cannot watch this guy's content even though it's good info, this channel makes me so sick 🤮😔
I might try the paradise fish. I have a 29 gallon with white clouds, cherry barbs, albino corys, 4 aquatic frogs and some yoyo loaches I picked up to remove my bladder snail problem. I need a little color and was leaning on the idea of cardinal tetras, but paradise looks nice. I don't have a heats so the temp sits at around 72-74 during the winter on the high end for the white clouds and the low end for everything else.
Nice video but I would advise if you have a betta in ur community tank be careful some bettas are very aggressive some are not I've owned really laid back ones and ones that chased and killed other fish lucky I had a spare tank set up so thats also something to consider 🙂🍀
I personally wouldn't put bettas with guppys or any other fan tail type of fish because I've known them to be aggressive towards them however if you do want to keep a betta Harlequins are perfect tank mates for them
I have 2 chill betas and some neons and guppy in a 20 gallon . Ofc filter and heater. But they don't really fight at all. I do have an extra tank in case they do though.
Could you have more than one solo centrepiece fish in a larger aquarium? Or would u still stick to one statement fish with a couple of schooling breeds?
Dunno bout yall but zebra plecos are my centerpiece fish. coming from experience i kept 3 solo tanks 1 solo for a flowerhorn, 1 for an oscar and 1 for an arowana. My dad is a big fish tank kinda guy and he likes his pacus so much. But when I started doing a 30g tank i just ditched the arowana and flowerhorn tank. I really enjoyed zebra plecs
Betta are a classic centerpiece, and I always liked angelfish. I want to add a gourami with my tetras down the line. Nice vid, take care! ps you're handsome or whatever ..
I have 3 angels in my 29 gallon with 8 neon tetras 5 red minors and 1 albino pleco . It’s lightly planted and the angels are still juvenile is this to much? I’m thinking about getting 4-5 more neons.
@@dingringdong7150 because bettas are aggressive and tend to attack anything that looks like another betta.. A guppy has beautiful fan tails.. Which makes the betta think that its another betta. It is possible to keep guppies with betta fish but just saying that you are likely to be more successful with neons. I recommend that you have a minimum of 15-20 gallon tank with some live plants for both options. I will also suggest amano shrimp instead of rcs because they are translucent clear colour(good at hiding) and eat more algae. They also get bigger than rsc and dont breed.
What's your guys opinions on size tank for Betta with community fish? I have 2 mollies, 3 bronze cats and will get 5-10 shoaling like endlers/neons in a 15 gallon. Would a Betta have enough room or would a gourami/paradise fish do better? Thanks!
@Its me or whatever I think this is taken as a good measure because it is an easy way to ensure somewhat decent tank parameters without having to explain it all in depth. Generally people can make a decent estimation of when a tank is overcrowded. What's more important is to make sure the tank, its filtration system and the microbiome can handle the bioload. And of course the type of fish matters too. Some like to swim and have space, some are territorial, some are aggressive. Heavily planted tanks can manage a higher bioload (more fish) than non planted ones. All that will also determine how many you can have. It is not a simple math, but for beginners, that is a manageable ballpark measure.
Did you ever get the answer to this question im not a super beginner but I dont want one to set my tank off and I'm not sure about them i dont want a fish that has to be extra babied
I wouldn't recommend doing that even though it probably can be done as long as they're mostly female as the males might be more agressive. Single species aquariums can often look much better and also be more stable in the long run
Angelfish are NOT a suitable centrepiecefish for a small aquarium. I don't know if the rest of the video is correct, but I have done some research on how to keep angelfish. The information here on angelfish is absolotely wrong and harmfull to these fish. Angelfish should be kept in a GROUP of at least six. You need an aquarium of at least 120 centimeters in length and at least 50 centimeters in height.
Your info is so good but jeeze, this is unwatchable because of the zoom-happy camera work. For the sake of every eyeball that might stumble across this video- step away from the zoom feature!!

Dwarf gouramis are reasonably aggressive but honey gouramis are so calm
No
@@thechedder Ive had dwarfs absolutely decimate other fish. They get especially aggressive when they have a nest/ are in breeding season

I slowed this down to. 75% and that really helps.

Silly...

I ve been waiting for a centerpiece fish
I definitely would recommend against keeping angelfish in a 20g. I'd say 30+.

lol my word
rams are amazing every time i clean my tank he will go over and look at my hand and he will also eat from my hand
How did you build those tank stands and have them strong enough?

Thanks for the list! Quick question tho: would a pearl gourami work as a centerpiece too? Or would it be best to go with a honey?
I’d say as long as it’s a female you should be fine. Hope it’s not too late, but the males are usually the more semi-aggressive ones.
Depending on the tank size. I’d say no less then a 29 gallon
I have a dwarf gourami in a 10 gal so if it is a 10 gal tank you have get a dwarf gourami
Depends on your tank size. Pearls need a bigger tank than honeys do.

Careful with the German Blues they like a temperature range 80-85 F, a bit warmer than most community aquariums. Not saying it can’t be done
They do !

Nah that’s fine but the angels just may eat the neons when they grow to full size if they do
You should try adding a group of balloon rams
Can i keep 1 blue ram in a 10 gallon with other small fish?
No. Either just a blue ram or small fish. Not both
@@justicecountryman4060 keeping a German blue ram in a community tank with smaller fish are fine
how can i use houseplants in aquarium and not have fish jump out? thank you !
I really want some Apisto’s but they won’t mesh with my corydora from what I hear. Guess I need another tank oh darn haha
my paradise fish is very aggressive. They are known for being aggressive just like betta's. Good list but wouldn't recommend them for a community
Great list though as much as I love Cory Cats I wouldn`t call them a centerpiece fish.
Just my opinion .........good job !
For sure!
I have a school of corys in my community aquarium, would a apisto fit in?
Can you put a blue ram with and angel fish
What tank community is better?
Betta, neon tetra, cherry shrimp or betta, guppy, cherry shrimp
neon tetra..
if you are keeping a betta dont put anything that has a colourful fan tail and fins.

Can you keep one angelfish with guppies?

Harlequins

Betta can be aggressive towards guppies that have big fancy tails

I don't think Paradise fish are particularly peaceful. They can be somewhat territorial, especially toward fish similar to their type.
