Thanks for the info regarding darkening the rig. I have ordered the rig and it should be with me next week. Price has gone up a bit but I am sure it will be worth it. She is very helpful and friendly to talk to Take care. Mike
Thanks for the info regarding darkening the rig. I have ordered the 1880s style belt and holster from Maureen and it should be with me next week. Price has gone up a bit but I am sure it will be worth it.i Isn't she a lovely person to talk to and very helpful. Thanks. Mike
The hammer loop kept the pistol from slipping out of the holster when it went horizontal while in the saddle. All the bouncing from the horses gallop would cause it to slip out and fall on the ground in no time. I have the hammer loop and leg tie on my 19th century reproduction from historicemporium.com. I have the Umarex/Colt Peacemaker .177 pellet cartridge shooter myself.
Glad you posted that saved me bothering, l was flumoxxed as to why HD said there wasn't a loop on the holster originally, there was and for exactly thd reason you said, l think he just wanted to sound knowledgeable without actually having enough knowledge. Lol. I understood tie downs were to stop the holster riding up with the gun when being drawn as in a gunfight, but they were likely for the same reason as not allowing the gun to be in the way.
Are you in the UK? The woman I bought mine off could probably do a cross draw. There is also John Beattie Pistol Leather. He's more expensive but he looks to do some very fine stuff.
@@AaronHuie And I found the answer over last summer!! The answer is .357 magnum round. I bought a real gun belt that holds .357 rounds and they fit almost perfectly. A little snug, but works
Hi there m8, Really loved your video on the Umarex Colt Peacemaker, Your Holster was really smart I couldn't trouble you with asking you the person you purchased it from and what you added to darking the Belt,Hope to Hear back, Take Care George.
Hi George, the ebay seller was Maureen4316. To darken the leather, all I used was a dark brown leather polish. Thank you for the comment and glad you liked the video.
I asked you some time ago where did you get the rig and you replied Maureen. I have just ordered one and I would like to know how you darkened it? Look forward to your reply. Mike
Hi Mike, sorry for the late reply. I simply used boot polish, black and brown. Brown all over, then black on areas I wanted a bit darker. Just build it up to the finish you want. Hope this helps.
Like your videos, very relaxed and you explain things quite clearly. The only fault I could find was the lighting. Very difficult to see the holster itself when you were describing it. Gaviscon tablets are very good for indigestion. HA! HA! HA! Mike
Will the umarex colt 45 co2 fire either bbs or pellets? Excuse my ignorance but I'am very new to this .I'am still thinking about buying one so I'am picking your brains.I am also looking at holsters so any info would be helpful.
dude!buy schofield pellet version by ASG.Powerful.simple.durable.I got mine and have some finish work to it for real look.Fake barrel on these Umarex Colts almost glued.Drop it and you'll lost it.If you want something for spinning and tricks then buy non firing model.
Very nice, looks very similar to my rig which i suspect was made by the same maker from the style and a few of the things you said. Also very pleased with mine and find it sits really comfortably.
Thanks mate. Yeah I think it is the same maker as the holsters she was selling on Ebay were the same as yours. I had a couple of things changed on mine such as the trigger guard being partially enclosed by the holster rather than fully open. I'm pleased with mine too, well worth the money.
hello again my friend I like that video or the Mexican loop holster and was wondering where I can find the built that holds bullets all the way around from the front and back around to the holster.. just a plain black belt and holster like Denzel Washington where's on his movie the magnificent 7, .. the bullet boots start from the front almost where the buckle is to all away around the back to the holster.. I'm not sure but it looks like it's more than 24 bullet loops maybe 36 but anyway we're could I find a built like that that has more than 24 bullet Loops..??? ..again signed, Emmett, U.S.M.C... the built looks like you're built but cannot tell because you were not wearing your belt and holster so that I could see the bullet loops all the way around
Hi Emmett, my belt holds 24. It came with 6 loops as standard, but I paid extra and had a total of 24. The Ebay seller I bought mine off was maureen4316. She will put more loops on if you order them. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment.

Been trying to get a holster for my Umarex for awhile now, this looks excellent. Trying to get my hands on a crossdraw version.

Cheers, ill check it out. Not in UK nor US, so it's been hard to find a good leatherworker that knows how to make holsters.
If the holster is unlined the rough cowhide/horsehide is more than likely the main reason for the finish wearing off.
I made my own holster with leather from my old welding jacket came out very good not quality but it works good my gun is the colt peacemaker
What size Bullets do the Umarex Colt Cartridges match? Are they close to .45 long colt rounds??
THIS IS THE QUESTION TO ANSWER

May I ask how much you paid for this piece?
Where can I buy gun belt like that on video?
I got it from Ebay.
