We went for a family weekend away to the west coast of Ireland so of course I packed the Albabird as it breaks down so small! We spent a day at this beautiful beach which to me looks like somewhere way more exotic than I'd expect from Ireland 😅 and I just had to get a quick flight in. It was quite gusty and not the best flying conditions but I counted myself lucky the sun was out and I was able to fly! The launch was a bit dodgy... basically I had post launch mode set to Acro and it didn't hold it's attitude very well, I usually have it set to Angle so this was just an error. When I put my goggles on it was a complete shock to see a tree coming at me and I was certain it was going to end in a crash, but i went for the elevator stick and luckily avoided disaster.
I've recently updated my Albabird to a DJI O3 AU, which produces stunning video in good lighting. It means I no longer need a dedicated action cam and I also get to enjoy the live feed in 1080p through the Goggles 2.

Stunning video and super chill music. Love it! I can't for the life of me get iNav to output properly to an O3 unit. Everything's garbled onscreen and it's driving me nuts. Glad to see someone has figured it out!

For the O3 OSD in iNav configurator go to OSD tab and in the top right you have to set beta flight compatibility mode. This works on iNav 6.0 onwards.

Amazing scenery and weather matey....Our weather here in the UK has been even more awful than usual this year. Surprised it was this calm although air coming off the Sea usually is smooth....🤔😀😳😏🇬🇧
Been an awful year for flying weather, Ireland has had it the same as UK. Starting to get some decent weather now but the evenings are getting dark a lot earlier already :(

In good light the O3 produces stunning video and the live feed is just amazing. it's only downfall is lower lighting

Wow what an exhilerating experience that must have been, beautifull scenery, wish my Albabird had views like that, recognised your Albabird when you panned round and saw the Ryanair colour scheme. Now all we need is a fully working Inav OSD for the 03.
Always exciting to fly in a new spot, especially when it's this scenic :) yeah the full OSD would be nice but it doesn't bother me too much, I know what everything is and fancy font isn't a big deal for me. Cheers

Autolaunch should compete by loitering around a predetermined safe home point.
(not sure if this is a possible default INAV option. Would be nice feature, as it could reduce some anxiety)
Thanks for the comment :) I think you can make it go to RTH round a safe point but I like to just keep it simple. I usually use angle mode for post launch but maybe just selected acro by mistake on that day.
Beautiful, I also just did a stunning flight over tropical beaches and around an island on a perfect flying day only to land the flight seeing I never hit record on the hd camera 🙄😮💨
Ah... we've all been there, it's very frustrating. Luckily with this one it records the DVR and the onboard 4K automatically when I arm the model. cheers

The O3 produces some stunning results on good lighting. It's downfall is low light. For me this looks as good as some of the best action cams🤩 cheers

I did a similar thing doing Autolaunch on my Z84...It wasn't in Autolaunch but went across the field for a good 15 seconds at head height. Just picked it up as it aproached a tree....Now, I don't turn my back after launching....lol ...🤔😀😳🇬🇧

Great vid - you were lucky with the weather. Surprised you find the stock motors have enough poke, I swapped them out after a couple of weeks.
They've been fine for me. I only really use this for cruising around, for fast flight i'd use something like the Zcon. It will d0 120km/h on the 4S Li-ion. I was lucky with the weather considering how it's been! cheers

Set RTH or Position hold when you launch
I usually just use Angle. Always worked fine for me. Acro isn't ideal haha
How are you getting on with digital fpv dude?
I am yet to make the jump as i will need to upgrade the fleet and TBS module to supply GPS co-ords for my sentinel aat.
Very well these days. In all honesty for the type of flying I do 99% of the time it outperforms 1.3g analogue. I think in the next couple of years I will fully convert. Cheers

Well that surprises me! I actuallly have an replica of your 1.3g setup ready to go + dragonlink . Never used as i found 5.8 & crossfire was getting decent distances. Even better with the tracker and high gain antenna.
Would be ace to see a side by side comparison 1.3 analog / 5.8 digital. Varies enviroments & maybe above the cloud.
I wouldnt be oppose to making the move if its not going to bin my range.
Was this recorded on the Air Unit or on the goggles?
Where you can see the OSD data this was a recording from the goggles. Where there is no OSD it’s onboard 4k from O3
