Absolu is severely underrated. One of my favorite scents. For those one the fence, I do think "a mix between One Million & Invictus" is a very good comparison. Just smells great!
I agree, Absolut is my second favorite after Pour Homme. Profumo smells like an old man for my taste, too peppery which recedes the dominating fresh scent away from the unique DNA that smells like the ocean, which makes it smell too spicy and antiquated, not modern, sophisticated, and deliciously fresh IMO.
Agreed. I have Profumo, have had the original and by far my favorite is Absolu. It is the perfect cozy date night scent that is very intimate and is going to have your date leaning in. My girlfriend cannot get enough of this one lol.
The performance of the Absolu is a beast, I testedit on spring season and was a totally different experience, really liked it. But the Profumo is a winner absolutley!

Scott Kelly Not sure why Savauge gets so much positive feedback. I wear it and nothing but negative comments. My partner loves Johnny Depp but hates when i put on Savauge. She goes nuts over Hot Water by Davidoff. I know, crazy right.

Remember these are fragrance snobs. Take their reviews with a grain of salt. It is their opinion at the end, but I think Profondo is great, bought a backup bottle in case of reformulations.
Josephine is great, but she's a snob and a bit biased towards darker scents because her taste is just superior at this point, so all these blue generic fragrances won't impress her, which is understandable. However, people are not into fragrances that are hard to like.
Acqua Di Gio Essenza by far is the best flanker of the line! Why they would discontinue it is beyond me. Thank God I purchased enough backup bottles to last me a lifetime. 👍🏾🇦🇺
Except old batches will get oxidized over time. You should get profondo, the dry down is exactly like Essenza. I have both and I can’t tell the difference in the drydown.

Out of the Acqua Di Gio line, the Profumo is the one I own and it's amazing. It's such a masculine, dark yet keeping that freshness and it's a compliment magnet. The best in the line imho. I agree with you 100%! Keep up the great content. Love from Costa Rica ❤️
Absolu will last for more than a day. The woody smell is what I like. Didn't regret buying one bit. The original Acqua di Gio is still my favorite, so fresh and everyday wear.
Been wearing Acqua Di Gio Profumo by Giorgio Armani for last two years and it's the best I had. It's my all time favorite and got the most compliments wearing it. I occasionally wear Versace tho but not often.
The Original ADG and Absolu were my first fragrances I ever bought, in Father’s Day gift packs. Both are amazing, still have a bit of Absolu left and save it for special occasions.

I disagree about Absolu. The dry down is nicer than the opening but I like it. Have worn it to work many times in warmer weather and works well. Very pleasant and unoffensive once it's dried down as it balances out a bit and isn't THAT sweet. I get decent longevity too. It's all subjective tho 😊

It definitely is. I like Profundo too, but Profumo is so sexy its like a womanizer in a bottle. Profundo is more of a sporty daytime scent, while Profumo is an elegant evening date type of scent.

I remember many guys at school wearing the original ADG, Issey Miyake, Polo Sport, Cool Water, Chrome, CK Escape, Givenchy Insence Ultramarine and other 90's aquatics. To me Profumo smells identical to the vintage ADG from back then, but with just a touch of incense. Same with Profundo, it reminds me of the vintage but with a lot more ambroxan.
I used Acqua di Gio during my university days and got a lot of compliments, but with the years I started to feel it was just not for me, Profumo appeared to save my life, since it is like the mature version of AdG, and compliments came back immediatly
Profundo is tops according female audience who rated it on the streets against several others. Also depends on skin and natural maxculine scent, i suggest spray a teste on your wrist and smell it upon first spray and then about 30 min later. Good channel bravo!
got the same on profondo... first thought was „boring“ but it gets interessting and pleasing. and i think the scent bubble smells better than if you smell it directly on your skin

Profondo lasts on my cloths for a week, literally. And the dry down smells exactly like ADG essenza. The opening is kinda off putting but the dry down is the best out of all of them in terms of keeping in line with the ADG dna.
I have AdG Profundo and the original, I've tested Profundo and prefere by far Profundo. In my small collection is the best all around perfume I own. Love it, it has character, dimension, masculinity, just my cup of tee.
I own most of the line and absolute is by far my most complimented by women and it lasts 10 or 12 hours on my skin by far the longest of any of the line. Profondo is my favorite although I can't hardly smell it after 2 hours, it kind of dries down to a clean skin scent, but I still get complimented on it four or five hours in so apparently it's leaving a scent trail, and I don't find it remotely close to Dior sauvage.
Profondo is the best imo....since it is a new release most people or online reviewers are not ready to accept the truth, it has a better performance ,projection ,sill and smell expensive.
I love this woman, she's so authentic and senstivie about being honest, greetings from poland, keep up good content. Maybe try new 2022 adg its ok imo 50 % old dna and 50 % essenza. Smells good but nothing ground braking

so basically you are wrong about the profundo. i would personally say it smells exaclty like the original but better and it doesent smell like sauvage at all. I won both of them and i have owned the profumo one and i think the profundo is way better because it actually does smell like the original.
Adg Traditional: Classy, timeless, versatile . Adg Profume: A masterpiece. Adg Absolu: A mix with Allure HSE Extreme. Tonka bean + Aldehydes opening. Great performance and lots of compliments. Adg Profondo: super synthetic mess. Herbal, the bottle should be green. A mix of Profumo+Absolu+Joop Slash+L&B Intense. Above average performance.
Please do a review of the Penhaligon Portraits collection. I think the names, bottles and stories are fascinating. I have recently sampled a few and interested in your thoughts.

Lovely video, Josephine! I have ADG Profundo, and I agree with you completely on it. In the dry down, it rounds out and becomes smoother. It’s definitely a modern take on the original, any occasion, and definitely has the legs for colder weather. On me, it’ll last til the next day and it’ll stay on my shirt til I wash it. However, ADG Profondo smelled like tiger balm when I first sniffed it a couple of years ago from the bottle so I overlooked it. Think I should give it another chance and test it?

Smell is definitely subjective because to me Profumo is by and far the worst in the line. It gives me a terrible headache and smells like an old man. Both Absolu and Profondo are better, more youthful fragrances. For whatever reason the fragrance community loves to hate on Absolu but it’s baller status.

only have Profundo because I was lazy when reading the description of my purchase, and did not know about Profondo until after I had made the purchase. I decided not to cancel the order, and my curiosity won me over. I DO like this scent and though Profumo is my favorite, i think they both have a place in my collection. If i may, to those who want to buy themselves Acqua Di Gio Profumo, keep in mind that there have been reformulations as of somewhere around 2020. I recommend holding out for a batch from 2015-2019. I just bought a Profumo replacement when mine ran out, (2022 batch) and the first thing I noticed was a much weaker scent coming off of the atomizer. Literally my EMPTY bottle lets off a stronger scent than the new one after a test spray. I was lucky enough to find a brand new 2015 batch on eBay. Hopefully this is helpful.
Okay call me crazy but... Acqua di gio absolu instinct is the darkest, most daring, and best so far. It has the most layers to the fragrance and I really enjoy the non-linear development to the dry down.

The original is such an epic freshie that has outlived a whole lot of major releases -for over 2 decades. The rosemary note is my favorite key player in the blend, which was sorely missed in the discontinued Essenza. Now, AdG Profumo really stepped up the game by bringing back -not only rosemary, but also some heftiness, by the added incense. Two enthusiastic thumbs up -one for AdG Profumo, and one for Jus de Rose. Mi cariño y aprecio, Ricardo.

Have you smelled ADG Essenza? I absolutely love Acqua Di Gio Essenza. So dissapointed to know that it was discontinued. I didnt know until i went to buy another bottle last two month. I only used it on special nights. Every single person smelled it and they complimented me for the smell and loved it. Also It drove the ladies crazy. I found two bottle online. Was excited and bought them. I opened them. As i opened the box i suddenly got skeptical of the authenticity of the product. From the print and the smell. It smell less strong then the one i had. I realized it was second degree from the original. F********k
Call me a fool or a philistine but I think I recently, accidentally, discovered a layering idea that I really like a lot. I only discovered Fragrantica and ebay decants about 5 months ago and decided to proceed with a little course in the mystical arts of perfumery, having largely been lapsed on the subject since my youth, and then with only limited experience (ADG, Eau d'Issey, Polo Sport, Hugo 'Hugo', Code a little later... you're probably guessing the time-frame correctly). It was a welcome new fad for me and a little distraction from some of the miseries of lockdown. Anyway, for one thing, I fell madly in love with Fahrenheit, at 1st huff (it was like 'where have you been all my life?). One day I sprayed some on the wrists and back of one hand (better to keep smelling the scent, periodically, as it dries down) and I thought 'why does that smell different and maybe even a little bit better, than I remember'? It was probably because I still had the fading remnants of ADG on those spots from about 4 hours prior and the fresh, wet spray of the Fahrenheit had re-awoken it and combined with the notes of the little bits of ADG that was still left. It added a light, zingy, fresh, floral pep to the violet, patchouli and other notes in the Fahrenheit and sort of lifted it into being something a little bit different. Not in a nauseatingly floral way (I don't really like Rose notes, for example, sorry ;-) but in a very fresh and uplifting way. To me, anyway. I really, really liked it and couldn't stop smelling my hand. Is ADG popular amongst layerers? Please tell me if you think I must be mad, or a frag-newbie fruit-loop. Preferably after trying it yourself, if you happen to be the owner of both. But feel free to blind-browbeat me, too, if you think I've committed some kind of fragrance related faux pas (bearing in mind that I never really meant it, in the first place), ha.
I sprayed Fahrenheit on my shirt and the next day wore it and sprayed Perry Ellis 360 Red which smells similar to ADG. And it was a great scent. I agree both ADG and Fahrenheit can be layered !

As a “maturing” man, ADG original was my go to fragrance for so many years. In fact I still use it today and Is in my top 10. That being said Profumo is now top 3 or 4 with Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, Spice bomb Extreme, and Alexandria Arabian Forest (Creed Spice and Wood clone).
AQdG Profumo was one of the first fragances in my collection... and that day I still have very present was when I smelled Pegasus 😳😞 and that would be the last time 😒😅. AQdG Profumo has an amazing performance I wear it afternoon and nights, not much right now for the covid situation, but is one the most perfect fragances ever made for summer nights and works for other seasons of the year.
i´ve used the original Acqua di Gio since the 90´s i´m 45 just bought Absolu and Profumo love them and can be found to a price where everyone can buy it without getting poor however looked up Acqua di Gio Profundo damn thats expensive still out of the 3 i have i prefer the original
I don't like Profondo because I feel wearing a Dylan Blue flanker. My favorite one is Profumo, this is a deeper and more sofisticated version of ADG EDT. I recommend Loewe 7 Cobalt over Profondo for people who are looking for a different blue fragance.
One thing about the original Acqua di Gio is it can be overpowering with strong projection so a little bit goes a long way...especially in office environment... I haven't tried the others.
Acqua Di Gio gets a lot of hype and I believe Oxygene by Lanvin is just as good and less than half the price of ADG and possibly better performance. I would be really interested in your opinion of Oxygene by Lanvin.

Personally, I feel she might have used a different perfume. I have all the flankers and Profundo is the worst performer and only good for summers.

To me Profondo is a softer, younger Percival. I like it, while I'm not a big fan of Sauvage.

I cudn't decide between getting profoundo or profoumo but thankfully u've cleared dat doubt!!! I heard excellent talk about essenza as well howeva its discontinued!
Profondo lasts on my cloths for a week, literally. And the dry down smells exactly like ADG essenza. The opening is kinda off putting but the dry down is the best out of all of them in terms of keeping in line with the ADG dna.
My favourite is still AdG Profumo, but i had a sample of the Absolu, and is surprinsingly good in a night club ocasion.
I have AdG Profundo and the original, I've tested Profundo and prefere by far Profundo. In my small collection is the best all around perfume I own. Love it, it has character, dimension, masculinity, just my cup of tee.
I own most of the line and absolute is by far my most complimented by women and it lasts 10 or 12 hours on my skin by far the longest of any of the line. Profondo is my favorite although I can't hardly smell it after 2 hours, it kind of dries down to a clean skin scent, but I still get complimented on it four or five hours in so apparently it's leaving a scent trail, and I don't find it remotely close to Dior sauvage.
i have Profumo and Profondo both. Prefer Profondo for a cooler weather and Profondo (mindblowing mineral notes) for a heat when i go out from my home

Profondo is the best imo....since it is a new release most people or online reviewers are not ready to accept the truth, it has a better performance ,projection ,sill and smell expensive.

I love this woman, she's so authentic and senstivie about being honest, greetings from poland, keep up good content. Maybe try new 2022 adg its ok imo 50 % old dna and 50 % essenza. Smells good but nothing ground braking

so basically you are wrong about the profundo. i would personally say it smells exaclty like the original but better and it doesent smell like sauvage at all. I won both of them and i have owned the profumo one and i think the profundo is way better because it actually does smell like the original.
Adg Traditional: Classy, timeless, versatile .
Adg Profume: A masterpiece.
Adg Absolu: A mix with Allure HSE Extreme. Tonka bean + Aldehydes opening. Great performance and lots of compliments.
Adg Profondo: super synthetic mess. Herbal, the bottle should be green. A mix of Profumo+Absolu+Joop Slash+L&B Intense. Above average performance.

Lovely video, Josephine! I have ADG Profundo, and I agree with you completely on it. In the dry down, it rounds out and becomes smoother. It’s definitely a modern take on the original, any occasion, and definitely has the legs for colder weather. On me, it’ll last til the next day and it’ll stay on my shirt til I wash it. However, ADG Profondo smelled like tiger balm when I first sniffed it a couple of years ago from the bottle so I overlooked it. Think I should give it another chance and test it?

Smell is definitely subjective because to me Profumo is by and far the worst in the line. It gives me a terrible headache and smells like an old man. Both Absolu and Profondo are better, more youthful fragrances. For whatever reason the fragrance community loves to hate on Absolu but it’s baller status.
You forgot Absolu Instinct.. 🤷♂️ Essenza also not mentioned.

only have Profundo because I was lazy when reading the description of my purchase, and did not know about Profondo until after I had made the purchase.
I decided not to cancel the order, and my curiosity won me over.
I DO like this scent and though Profumo is my favorite, i think they both have a place in my collection.
If i may, to those who want to buy themselves Acqua Di Gio Profumo, keep in mind that there have been reformulations as of somewhere around 2020. I recommend holding out for a batch from 2015-2019.
I just bought a Profumo replacement when mine ran out, (2022 batch) and the first thing I noticed was a much weaker scent coming off of the atomizer. Literally my EMPTY bottle lets off a stronger scent than the new one after a test spray.
I was lucky enough to find a brand new 2015 batch on eBay.
Hopefully this is helpful.
Okay call me crazy but... Acqua di gio absolu instinct is the darkest, most daring, and best so far. It has the most layers to the fragrance and I really enjoy the non-linear development to the dry down.

Jus de Rose Yes, it is! Such a classic fresh scent.
The original is such an epic freshie that has outlived a whole lot of major releases -for over 2 decades. The rosemary note is my favorite key player in the blend, which was sorely missed in the discontinued Essenza. Now, AdG Profumo really stepped up the game by bringing back -not only rosemary, but also some heftiness, by the added incense.
Two enthusiastic thumbs up -one for AdG Profumo, and one for Jus de Rose.

Have you smelled ADG Essenza? I absolutely love Acqua Di Gio Essenza. So dissapointed to know that it was discontinued. I didnt know until i went to buy another bottle last two month. I only used it on special nights. Every single person smelled it and they complimented me for the smell and loved it. Also It drove the ladies crazy. I found two bottle online. Was excited and bought them. I opened them. As i opened the box i suddenly got skeptical of the authenticity of the product. From the print and the smell. It smell less strong then the one i had. I realized it was second degree from the original. F********k

Call me a fool or a philistine but I think I recently, accidentally, discovered a layering idea that I really like a lot.
I only discovered Fragrantica and ebay decants about 5 months ago and decided to proceed with a little course in the mystical arts of perfumery, having largely been lapsed on the subject since my youth, and then with only limited experience (ADG, Eau d'Issey, Polo Sport, Hugo 'Hugo', Code a little later... you're probably guessing the time-frame correctly). It was a welcome new fad for me and a little distraction from some of the miseries of lockdown.
Anyway, for one thing, I fell madly in love with Fahrenheit, at 1st huff (it was like 'where have you been all my life?).
One day I sprayed some on the wrists and back of one hand (better to keep smelling the scent, periodically, as it dries down) and I thought 'why does that smell different and maybe even a little bit better, than I remember'? It was probably because I still had the fading remnants of ADG on those spots from about 4 hours prior and the fresh, wet spray of the Fahrenheit had re-awoken it and combined with the notes of the little bits of ADG that was still left.
It added a light, zingy, fresh, floral pep to the violet, patchouli and other notes in the Fahrenheit and sort of lifted it into being something a little bit different. Not in a nauseatingly floral way (I don't really like Rose notes, for example, sorry ;-) but in a very fresh and uplifting way. To me, anyway. I really, really liked it and couldn't stop smelling my hand.
Is ADG popular amongst layerers?
Please tell me if you think I must be mad, or a frag-newbie fruit-loop. Preferably after trying it yourself, if you happen to be the owner of both. But feel free to blind-browbeat me, too, if you think I've committed some kind of fragrance related faux pas (bearing in mind that I never really meant it, in the first place), ha.
I sprayed Fahrenheit on my shirt and the next day wore it and sprayed Perry Ellis 360 Red which smells similar to ADG. And it was a great scent. I agree both ADG and Fahrenheit can be layered !

Josephine, please explain in detail comparing all these flankers of Acqua Di Gio.
As a “maturing” man, ADG original was my go to fragrance for so many years. In fact I still use it today and Is in my top 10. That being said Profumo is now top 3 or 4 with Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, Spice bomb Extreme, and Alexandria Arabian Forest (Creed Spice and Wood clone).
I disagree I think Profundo is like the original Aqua di gio but this one last long.

AQdG Profumo was one of the first fragances in my collection... and that day I still have very present was when I smelled Pegasus 😳😞 and that would be the last time 😒😅. AQdG Profumo has an amazing performance I wear it afternoon and nights, not much right now for the covid situation, but is one the most perfect fragances ever made for summer nights and works for other seasons of the year.
i´ve used the original Acqua di Gio since the 90´s i´m 45 just bought Absolu and Profumo love them and can be found to a price where everyone can buy it without getting poor however looked up Acqua di Gio Profundo damn thats expensive still out of the 3 i have i prefer the original
Essenza and Profumo are the best ones. Essenza for day time, Profumo for night time.
I don't like Profondo because I feel wearing a Dylan Blue flanker. My favorite one is Profumo, this is a deeper and more sofisticated version of ADG EDT.
I recommend Loewe 7 Cobalt over Profondo for people who are looking for a different blue fragance.

Ummmm... ambroxan isnt a listed note in Profondo
One thing about the original Acqua di Gio is it can be overpowering with strong projection so a little bit goes a long way...especially in office environment... I haven't tried the others.

Acqua Di Gio gets a lot of hype and I believe Oxygene by Lanvin is just as good and less than half the price of ADG and possibly better performance. I would be really interested in your opinion of Oxygene by Lanvin.
