It’s been a while since my last upload, and I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who’s been patient and supportive during this break. Over the past few days, you’ve completely overwhelmed me with your warm and positive comments. So many of you have welcomed me back in such a kind and heartfelt way-it truly means the world to me! ❤ Long story short, life and work have kept me busy, but as we step into 2025, I’m ready to dive back into something I truly love: creating videos that explore architecture in new and unexpected ways. Thank you for being here and for your continued support-you inspire me to keep going. Stay tuned for what’s coming next! 🙌
Missing in the concept is also the idea of self sustainability. The Weasley’s were the antithesis of consumerism, their house had pantries for home grown products, areas for making clothes (sewing and knitting ) and probably carpentry. Even in the USA, garages became an extension of this concept (making and fixing things). The problem with modern architecture is that it assumes that all we are is consumers or machines of work, and imagines that luxury is doing nothing. A music room, a library, a workshop, man cave, or few chickens seems far more luxurious (particularly for a family) than a view to your next door neighbours bathroom.
Well said. I came to the comments to say that, while I love the design, it’s sort of the antithesis of what the Weasley’s stood for in a lot of ways. This house would cost a small fortune to build as it’s rendered. The glass alone would cost more than most people could afford, even just at stage 1. I appreciate the materials he chose, but even where heating and cooling is concerned, it’s not particularly efficient. Of course, if you really had a Weasley-sized family all living there, perhaps that would help justify some of the cost. I know it’s just fantasy, but in reality, this isn’t a big family’s home… it’s a rich, older couple’s vacation house. Your point about a lot of architecture assuming we’re all consumers seeking a permanent home-vacation is on point. Luxury to me is having a space that is customized to support my daily needs, made of materials that are in harmony with humans and the environment; not just having MORE.
Valid constructive criticism and hopefully the creator will reflect on some of this. It is his vision, after all, but I have to agree this doesn't feel like a home for a large family. It's a beautiful work of art, yes, and very unique. I applaud his creativity.
I feel like you focused a lot on the magic and not enough on the comfort that the original house had. Don’t get me wrong, your project is amazing, and it totally delivers that sense of wonder that you mentioned, but I think that the single huge open space, the use of very light materials and the lack of both clutter and division between the main rooms makes it a lot less warm and cozy. I love that you’re able to see the top through the floors when standing at the bottom of the stairs, but i think it’d be even more magical if instead of being able to see that much, you’d just get a glimmer of the top, just enough to see the faces of the people watching down.
How is this not exactly the same issue as you talked about in the beginning of the video? You took a building with organic forms, personality, whimsy, and color and made it into something geometric, contemporary, soulless, and beige.
Stunning. And yes, the lighting and staircases, window shapes, materials… it’s all magical. I love it. I do feel like the darker interior of the Weasleys house contributed to its warmth and that is missing from your project. Alternatively, you really hit the modern interpretation with the cooler materials so instead of warm, it’s modern. Not a bad thing by any means. It’s gorgeous, clean, crisp and bright whereas the Weasley house is chaotic, cluttered, warm and tight. The Weasley house is a warm, grandmotherly hug. Your home is an expansive exhale when you have found serenity.
great work. There is also something we lost in modern architecture you did not mention : color. It could be very nice to bring a little bit color in this house (not only beige and white).
@@crietzsche There are collectors holding onto them with a tight fist but lately a few have come up for auction at Christie's and Sotheby's. I know where the best ones are.
Outside of the metaphors, this bares next to no resemblance or soul of the Weasley house. It's very sculptural and bold, but it fundamentally lacks ehat makes the Weasley's Burrow so lovable: its humanity. The human complexity and chaos is what defines the Weasley and Wizarding world, as well as underscoring the divide between contemporary and traditional schools of thought in design. This is pretty, sterile, and readable. The ground floor alone looks more like a beachside cafe or lounge than it does a home. The lack of partitions and uninterrupted sight lines throughout leaves the occupants bare, like a bachelor pad, not a family home. Wonderful beachfront AirBnB fit for the Tropics, but this isn't a home somewhere in the British Isles. All that glass is terribly exposing as well.
I love this idea, I always think about why modern architecture has a lack of magic and warmth - but warmth comes from imperfections and the magic of finding things by accident, by stroling around markets and combining things with no intent of making sense but still all of them follow a certain common thing: quality, age, story, beauty and function - not caring about the impression it gives to others. Your concept is nice, but is still very modern, sharp and edgy, it misses exactly all the components that makes it magical, but for sure with age and lots of lifes lived in it, it will become old and very magical too : )
Just a couple of observations, two key elements to the J.K. Rowlings world are intimacy and culture, both seem to be missing from the concept, the excessive number of windows makes the house more akin to an office lobby than a home. Large windows in bedrooms assume a high level of exhibitionism ( bedrooms need to be private and dark to sleep). The excessive emphasis on landscape views signals power and ownership over land, similar to plantation architecture that is the antithesis of the Wesley’s ethos. It also cancels the idea of cloistering, privacy and mystery as seen in similar forms of architecture particularly in Oxford and Cambridge. The excessive use of windows also reduces the number of viable placements for art as seen in the stairs sequence at the school. The creation of space for study seem to be missing. The bookshelves seem decorative at best in the digital model. Did Draco moved in?
No philosophizing here, just want to say this is the coolest, most unique, beautiful house I’ve ever seen. Great homage to the Barrow while still modern with clean lines and open spaces. I love it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You definitely were very creative in your comments inspiration to bring magic and warmth into modern architectural design 🪄 Thank you for sharing your process in bringing The Weasley's home to this mostly muggle world.
Love it!!! I love how you brought in so much magic but yet still designed a house that could be built and lived in today. From another HP mega-fan and millenial, I love it!
It is a beautiful project, really enjoyed your idea and thanks for sharing it. Do not want to be the grinch, but interior design is not capturing the spirit of Weasley’s. I would call it if Draco lives in Weasley’s house.
Love your design! It honours both the magical effect you wished to pursue, your Scandinavian heritage inspirations and your walking outside of the box for this charming compilation of intentional misalignment. Bravo!
Underrated Channel. The layout is so much fun. My only complain is I would have some warmer wood tones in the main room, and I think I would have made the bedrooms a bit darker to make them feel more cozy. That being said, I always tend to lean towards darker natural tones. I do like the choice of flooring on the main level though.
Yes. Most house designs are stagnant, cookie cutter forms. They all look too much alike. The housing subdivisions become mazes you get lost in creating anxiety & stress. I LOVE your design ideas. They are creative, bold, clean, & magical. Thank you for being a fresh breath of air the architecture world needed.
You are a genius, mate. If there is justice, then you will become one of the very greatest of your generation. I am completely blown away by your structured creativity!
this is actually why I take up architecture. I want to be able to design the house that I want and saw in movies or describe in books. When I started the program, well that's how I learn that it's more than buildings and structures, it's about the people
I love the inspiration by and the dedication to the franchise. I love the artistic nature of the building. Residents would be living in art. I agree that modern architecture often lacks this.
Your work is truly unparalleled-absolutely stunning and beautiful. This design is visually breathtaking, with every detail showcasing a flawless balance of form and function. The way your designs continuously evolve, becoming more refined and impressive with each new project, is a testament to your unmatched creativity and vision. I’m constantly in awe of your ability to push the boundaries of architecture. Keep up the incredible work. Awaiting your next design!!!
Love this whole project, the thought behind it is very cool, thank you for sharing with us! Though it doesn't really feel timeless or magical to me, the lines, it still feels pretty modern to me, it kind of reminds me of Japandi, still it's a very beautiful design
Woaow!! Just found the channel! And.... Woaow this design of an Icons is well made, know I understand more easly how hommage or reminder are made when an architect draw... that's really wonderfull, and, Are Ron's Familly wealthy? 🤔😂 I am in love with your design!!😊
omg this made my day ! i love the Weasleys house but this module need a lot of clutter and hand me downs to feels like them ! i hope f they make a new series they adapt it from this !
Exceptional project. The people in here saying it lacks the cozyness of the Burrow are missing the point. The large central space brings the magic of scale that one gets at Hogwarts, while the sensitive division of spaces, use of materials and furniture, and, of course, light, provide the cozyness. This project would be wildly expensive anywhere in the world (not to mention on an isolated beachfront property), but its ideas could be implemented with more modest methods in more modest locales.
It is bold of you to say that other people miss the point just because you see it from a different angle. I think most of us would agree that coziness is the essence of the Burrow. To keep the magic of this place, coziness must be maintained. But what is considered cozy is entirely subjective, which makes different perspectives valid. No one denied that it's a very cool project, though, as far as I've seen the comments
@@c.m.8972 I think people forget that, despite the architect repeatedly mentioning the Burrow as inspiration, the house is literally called "Hogwarts House." It's easy to get overly focused on the lovely notion of coziness, but if one actually listens to the entire presentation carefully, it's simply one goal of many. The designer repeatedly mentions "magic," "wonder," and "surprise" as being important guiding principles. He also specifically mentioned his personal desire to introduce Scandinavian styling to "Bring [himself] at ease," to unify a design with many disparate elements. Of course every person will have a different notion of what "cozy" means, and whether or not this project meets that subjective criteria. But the architect clearly outlines what HIS interpretation of "cozy" is for this house (and, after all, he is the designer AND client here), and communicates it very effectively with his images and words.
incredible design. i imagine any style could be converted to this in a beautiful way, imagine ancient roman, gothic, Japanese fully wood, ancient Egyptian inspired all stone
i've been wondering (daydreaming more like) for years about what i would do if i ever won the lottery. The concept of ' build a house' was floating in my brain but nothing coherent had come of it. You just designed my answer 😂 this is phenomenal!!! 🌟🌠
Brilliant, I would love to live in a place of this design! Only have you considered practicalities such as how to clean such high and oddly shaped windows and skylights? Keep up with the great work though!
2 thought, all "parts" need to connect to the chimney for exes warmth or for additional fireplace (like the "original") and the staircase need the connect to the chimney properly (like the original) if the chimney can make a bend in the beginning, it can do it again....nice visuals though...

The LED's would make this a maintenace ordeal. However I do like the idea of the glass marbals too

That's what a great painting is for. Add a Rothko. Add a Kelly. Tons of color. Color is only color where there is no color.
