In 20 years, I'll be moving to Iceland (hopefully). And here's my plan.. a long term plan :D 🏠 Iceland has always held a special place in my heart, and I dream about calling it my home one day. While waiting for it to happen, I did the natural first step - designed my dream house ;)
Join me in watching the journey of designing an economical, versatile, and picturesque cabin. Let's explore Iceland's beauty, innovative design principles, and the prefabrication approach that's making it possible. The adventure is just a click away.
And a huge THANK YOU to all the viewers and subscribers. Your encouragement keeps me going and helps this channel grow. It means so much to me! 🌟

Hello everyone to Architect Reflects Channel! This time, I explore the idea of designing a transparent “glass- bunker” in the Dune universe. This video is part of a series where I experiment with pop culture and architecture. I want to see how different influences can spark new ideas and possibilities. If this made you even a little bit curious let me know what you think 🙂 previously: MODERN HO...
Inside a modern Hobbit House | Bag End 2.0 by Architect Reflects
Просмотров 30 тыс.Год назад
As a big Lord of the Rings fan (I hope there’s more of us here!) I couldn’t resist the temptation to reimagine how Bilbo Baggins’s private home, Bag End, could look like in a modern version. So I am very excited to share with you my latest video about the Hobbit house that I designed as part of my RUclips channel - Architect Reflects. It was a daunting task, but on the other hand, I really like...
Norwegian traditional cabin redesigned | Floating Cabin by Architect Reflects
Просмотров 11 тыс.Год назад
Welcome to my new RUclips channel Architect Reflects! I’m excited to share my first video with you all called Floating Cabin. Floating Cabin is a purely conceptual project that aims to start a dialog about the essence of architecture and what it means to create a feeling. The idea behind this project came from curiosity evoked by unusual structures sprawled all around Norway. As an architect, I...

The only irritating, is that you don't do a 360° vies of every room and you showed the tree way too much.

This is a brilliant and inspired design. I grew up always wanting to live in a hobbit hole. However, after living in a dark, subterranean, basement apartment while at university, I came to reconsider that. This however, is beautiful and full of light. The one thing that had always bothered me about Bags End, though, is the tree above it. Eventually, the roots from the tree would have grown into the hobbit hole, even through stone, brick, or mortar. While that is not a factor with your design, as you have incorporated the tree into the design, how have you planned to deal with the growth of the tree in regards to the seal that surrounds it? Just wondering from a practical design standpoint. Even given the slow growth of the tree, if the seal were not replicable, it could cause the tree to grow over it (though that would take some time) and could eventually force the frame out of alignment. The other possibility is that it could girdle the tree, killing it. If the seal is replicable, then it could be expanded to compensate for the growth. I'm not certain but I believe that the last time I checked, on average a tree trunk grows in diameter at the rate of 0.15 inches a year. This of course would vary by the type of tree and the local climate, rain fall, etc. Also, a certain maximum is usually given. Sorry, but these are the kind of things that run through my head and keep me awake at night.

there are several contradictions! a big interior space does not help managing temperature at all. Big volumes makes it more difficult! If you want to make the house more aerodynamic because of the high winds, then the sharp edges of the building makers worse from every direction! Only a rounded building does address that. And elevating the building makes worse as well, as it exposes even the base to elevated wind speeds! the wind speeds are lower close to the surface! On top of that, now the house is exposed to the high temperature even on the floor side, while if it would sit on or better in the ground, the temperature would be significantly lower. And since you said in the beginning, that the sand is penetrating everything at these high speeds, you create opening for the steel cables for the counter weights? your design might look spectacular, but is totally useless and a failure in this environment.

interesting. But the bedroom area too me looked cold. especially because of the narrow stone courtyard and the stonewalls in the bedrooms. Hobit houses have wood for a reason.

8:15....ok but the bedrooms have no closets....I would turn that layout into a two bedroom simply cuz I would have to convert two of them in the middle into walking closets...sorry 🙃or maybe modified the 2 bedrooms in the middle to be slightly bigger and then have some normal closets wall to wall...prolly making it a 3 bedroom but having to get rid of that hallway that divides them...the problem with the circular kitchen is that appliances would not follow that shape...so the fridge, oven, dish washer, washer and dryer would look all wonky....although I would place the washer and dryer in the pantry so that people from the bedrooms have easy access to it.... other than those minor details, its a great design. good job!!

It has a will a temple like structure, it has the appearance of an ancient world and yet modern home, you can see what you were looking for in your design, and you can see it. Many Architect tell you what they were trying to do with there descriptions of there desir but you never see it,not true with you it's what you say it is, truly!!!
