wouldn't it be nice if African countries would also strengthen their immigration laws?

i leave this comment here today because i believe some people would be smart enough to know that " it does not matter if your white or black" we have a mutual relationship...if you are wise..u sud starting thinking of more important things (innovation)...than to realize you spent your full life being a meaningless RACIST...LOVE is the cheapest ....but yet so expensive for some people....GOD be with us all...

What bit about YOU CANNOT WORK did the students not understand?
If they can't even get that simple bit right they shouldn't be studying!!!!

The thing is they had a chance to even get the Work permits which they say didn’t know they could get ! So I believe they may not have even known they couldn’t work ! My point today is not pointing fingers at Canada so far the best Immigration friendly country today !! And not to the ignorant young students either ! Life has a way of teaching us what to do and how to do it !!! A word to all my African pple /parents most of our kids today are spoilt especially by us parents trying to imitate the westerners way of living kids do whatever they want even when they shouldn’t and on the other hand we do things for our kids that they should be doing for themselves ! So our kids are trapped in a terrible cage iwonder how we r going to adress that ! Isee that a lot even my own kids try to pull such on me coz their friends do that and hey they live in the western world or they heard that thats what happens there ! My dear friends /parents /children plz let parents be parents for guidance etc and let kids be responsible for their own actionsGod bless you all

Adeola I am a university student and it is right there on the registration forms that foreign students cannot work without a work permit. It is in BOLD letters. So they cannot say that they were ignorant.

After read most of the comments, I had to admit the fact that it is really heart bleeding to acknowledge that we still live in a raced society. A society, where the more superior races dominate over the minor groups, people do not treat fellow humans like they are really human- beings . I want a better society because if the community was good , I would not be seeing some of these racists comments . Dear friends, It is very important to take a walk in people shoes before judgement. It is quite understandable that white people would not understand because I do not think they would ever be in that situation but the fact that we all are just humans matters a lot , after all we still breathe same air and we all are living life.

When your student visa expires you leave the country.
If you remain you are subject to removable because you are now in Canada illegally.
What part of that do you not understand?

I find it hard to believe that they were not aware that you need a Work Permit to work in Canada, after all, they have been Foreign Students for 3 years already. Foreign Students are usually asked if they will be working and if they have secured proper permits,....the amount of financial support is also checked, as in Credit Cards, back accounts and savings....if it is determined they don't have enough support, they are not allowed to even enter Canada....These 2 broke the law,....and were caught,...very hard to believe they were not aware!!!!

unless their life was in danger they had no need to break the rules and leave the campus. those rules are there for good reason. if they have nothing to hide it wouldn't leave without permission.

I feel this was maybe slightly harsh unless they actually knew that law. Even though... whats the right word here... ignorance is not a excuse to break the law, they are still guilty. On a personal note, I feel that both Canada and the US need to lock down immigration and deal with our countries internal problems(and fuck off with bill c-279, just more problems).
Note: There was another case VERY similar to this in Saskatchewan recently. This woman moved here with her severely disabled daughter. The mother worked off and on in care/old folks homes. The daughter is costing our health care system a lot of money and she prolly collects welfare! They got in the news paper and got sympathy from the public and the decision over turned the day before deportation. The mom also"wanted" to open her own old folks home(part of her sob story). She and her daughter will be a tax on our system that is already over taxed and its sick. This government is far to giving to immigrants they get far more tax breaks and etc than I do and I have paid taxes my entire life(this is a fact). This is not our problem, let their country deal with it.
But then again even with billions in dirty oil and even suggested running huge tankers in the most beautiful BC channels(for oil), that are the biggest salmon breading grounds in the world. Whats more important? The enviroment and food(in a world thats excepted to hit a food shortage) or billions of dollars? And remember even with these billions of dollars the idiot conservatives still run a deficit. I could run this country better, its disgusting and this is what happens when conservatives get a majority government(I predicted this). Its so frustrating to watch.

I am sorry for these 2 ladies. Yes they made mistake by working illegally but going as far as deportation is very harsh. If these 2 women were Filipino, Punjabi or Ukrainian then Kenny would do nothing and keep kissing their feet. I see everyday tories giving away absolutely free immigration to these huge pool of immigrants to the above mentioned communities, many of whom are basically unskilled and unqualified. Unfortunately Canadians are largely unaware how immigration works. These politicians should be brought to justice by making immigration a scam way to bolster vote bank. International students brings in 10 billion CAD a year in Canada every year. My question to Punjabi-vote-lover Kenny, How much $$$ your Punjabi immigrants bring in to our Canada???
