I have a LV Capucine BB in Galet and love it. The leather is amazing and absolutely no color transfer- it will be 2 yrs hold next month and last month noticed a scratch on the gold V on the front. I couldn’t believe it as I am so careful with my bags and baby them. I took it to my local LV store and the repair gentlemen said this bag looks brand new - we will replace the V for free. I then asked to also have the strap keeper be replaced as it was too loose and not holding the strap - well he called yesterday and the bag was done in 3weeks!! But said they do not repair the strap keeper so he is ordering me a brand new strap at no charge!!!! I know many complain about LV when it comes to repair so I wanted to tell my great experience!! My Chanel reissue was less then 6 months old when the gold on the clasp was wearing off and Chanel said it was normal and would not replace it!
In my opinion no one does vernis better than Louis Vuitton. The colors are just incredible. I have Alma BB in vernis and everywhere I go I get complements, even when I am in a different fashion house boutique.
If I could be any handbag, I would be a Speedy B 25 in damier ebene because it is an approachable modern classic that is not flashy and very tasteful and secure.

I used to be all about canvas for LV, but I’ve made the decision to move toward leather in all fashion houses. I think it’s a better value for money! Maybe some bags with a mix of both materials, but overall moving toward leather.

😁 great question! If I were a handbag, I would most certainly be a Speedy 30 in the Monogram canvas...in the Bandoulière version 😏! I like that the Speedy is the smaller version of the Keepall travelbag...and I love to travel and I am also a bit smaller in size. I dress fairly chic, but not too elegant (like a Birkin, Kelly or Chanel flap) and there is more to discover inside me than you would guess from the outside! 😅😅
I LOVE patent leather! I had bought a preloved Chanel Rectangular Mini in black patent. I think the bag was from about 2012 because it had the double grommets which worked for me because I’m petite. I hardly didn’t use the bag too much and recently decided to sell it for something else. I did. Price that the patent seemed to have a more tacky feeling than when I purchased it 3 years ago. It did make me wonder if the patent would “break down” in he future. I also have an Alma BB in vernis that I purchased in 2013. I hardly use this bag but the vernis leather still feels great.
I own a Chanel black, patent leather long wallet which I’ve had for a number of years and it’s still gorgeous! Looks brand new with no finger prints, dulling, color transfer issues, etc. and I’ve used it daily since the day I bought it. It was was my first luxury purchase & pretty scary for me at the time but now, so glad I did it....one of my prized possessions!😊 Regarding LV Vernis, I only own their canvas so am unable to offer a direct comparison there.

I own canvas, epi and vernis and truly the vernis is my favorite out of all the three. I feel that it will age the best out of the three because you don't have to worry about the patina like on the canvas pieces. The vernis is so care free because you can take it out in all the weather elements. Plus it looks effortlessly classy. All my bags are lifetime purchases for me so since I don't plan on selling any of them I feel that I need to try to buy pieces that will wear the best with time and vernis is definitely my choice :)
I used to have a speedy in epi but it kept bending in the middle and leaving a crease so I sold it and got a alma pm in epi and love it even my boyfriend likes the way the alma looks in epi. he’s only complemented two of my Louis Vuitton bags 😌
I own a wide variety of LV Materials: Canvas, Epi, Empreinte, Mahina and I think they are all great! When I compare the LV leather bags with Dior I have to say I've found a lot of defects on brand new bags. Even Chanel doesn't make better bags in my eyes. I own a few Celines (Phoebe era) and although I love them I don't think they are better quality. The only one for me, which I think makes extraordinary good leather bags is Hermès, no one beats them! :-)
Most of my LV bags were always Alma bags in Vernis and Epi. I agree with you, LV canvas is the best. I also love their Epi leather but do not like how it ages:/. As per Vernis (patent leather) when the colors are light, you will and/or could experience color transfer, CHANGE IN COLOR (some with time could turn yellowish) and what really drove me insane....the fingerprints!. The only bag I adore from LV in leather is the capucine bb❤️. As per what bag would I be,... 100% Chanel classic flap in black caviar with GHW, is classy, reliable, strong and will pass down from generations to generations😍

Price increase question 💸 What is your thought process on price increases in general? I started buying luxury a little over two years ago and I enjoy my little collection so far, but I feel this need to buy everything I want as quickly as possibly to avoid buying later at a higher price. I just bought my dream Chanel medium classic flap before the most recent price increases because it’s gorge and I couldn’t justify buying it down the line when who knows how many thousands more it might be. I also don’t have kids yet and know once I do my financial priorities will change. Of course I won’t be going over my means, but because of all of this I can’t help but feel this need to make sure I got my bases covered to have a long lasting collection. For instance, recently I’ve been looking for more functional work bags, but feel the need to add bags that would increase the quickest or most like Chanel. Or add bags styles I don’t need now, but know I will want one later like a classic camera bag. Or another LV Neverful since I’m a tote girl at heart. If I was a handbag I think I would be a Kelly bag, sellier style. On the surface, simple, classic and a little dressy. Underneath, very practical and mindful of the future. With the question of the LV canvas bags, they are not for me. This is because of the limited choices of colour. Monogram, too in your face, damier azur, too much vachetta, damier ebene, too brown. It would be very different if they started making bags in monogram eclipse or damier graphite, or lining the azur with coated leather as they do with the ebene. How cool would that be? But sadly they seem to be stuck in a rut with canvas and refusing to try anything different. So until they get over that there will be no LV canvas bags for me.
Judit Kerékgyártó Sofia Coppola did a collaboration with LV a few years ago. I purchased it back in 2012. I don’t carry it everyday, but it is still in great condition.
I walked into LV randomly and bought an Alma BB in Vernis light beige color (I didn’t know what it was and didn’t do any research). It’s been 2 years and I still feel neutral about the piece. Yes to color transfer and extremely low resale value. I tried selling it to fashionphile and yoogiscloset. The cost is much higher than the canvas version but I was only offered 25% of my well maintained vernis. I’ll keep it as long as I don’t start hating it. If I were a handbag, I think I would be a Chanel classic flap medium/large black or beige clair in GHW. I’d make everyone’s hear sing, including mine. 🥰
I love my vintage canvas LVs, but I also LOVE their EPI leather. It is so durable and hardwearing, and always looks wonderful. Some of the colours it comes in are also absolutely stunning. I was lucky enough not to have to spend the earth on the pieces I have, and there's only one more EPI SLG I'm after, plus a DE LV and I'll be complete. XOXOX Minnie!!

I would definitely be the monogram Speedy 30 classic. I say this because this bag is quite simply me in purse form. My style is classic, I like my clothes structured with clean simple lines although my lifestyle is quite versatile and fun. I’m a busy wife, mother and grandmother with a full time career so I can carry a whole lot! And best of all I can be pretty high maintenance at times much like the beautiful vaccheta leather on my beloved classic speedy. There you have it! 😄

Such good questions this week!! I have to say that while I too prefer LV canvas over other design houses, I have to give it to Gucci for having the better canvas as far as durability (🙈 is that too controversial of a statement?) it feels better made to me and yet I’ve owned far more LV than Gucci. I’m really loving empreinte, it’s interesting that your negative experience with the glazing on your empreinte pieces have left a bad taste in your mouth for empreinte especially because you’ve had glazing issues with the Pochette Métis in the monogram twice over yet you still love and purchase canvas. So coming into Minks Monday’s I had my eye set on a beautiful red leather FENDI Peekaboo, after the discussion I’m not so sure as color transfer is now a thought in my head. I did own the Gucci super mini in red and I NEVER had concerns with color transfer with that bag (the cost maybe?) the FENDI peekaboo looks far more vibrant and it is also bigger. I can’t help but think about resale value as well (I hate to, because I really love the FENDI peekaboo) but seeing it on the resell market will be a gut punch!Should I just wait for it on the pre-loved market Minnie?? Your brutal honesty is necessary❣️❣️ I am the CHANEL GOLD Mini because I’m short (mini) but not your average gal!! Loved this question❣️❣️❣️
Hi Love! In my humble opinion, I would go for the Peekaboo on the preloved market because of the reasons you mentioned. I love LV canvas over leather for the classic-ness of the bag, however I do own the Alma Vernis in my profile pic here(the price was great) and it's fun to carry but doesn't get the wear like my canvas pieces do. LV will never get me to fall in line with their direction. I'm still looking for that perfect Preloved Chanel Reissue 225/SM in a Carmel/Dark Tan(or possibly Burgundy) just something different but staying close to a more basic color to the brand. I will leave the bright colors for my SLGs.🤔 Unless, I find a gorgeous color like your two Red Chanels at an AMAZING price.😁💕

An SA in Chicago told me this weekend that the Pochette Metis is not going to be made anymore in canvas. I had told her my experience with the Pochette Metis (I got one sent to me from my SA in Vegas but I hated how it looked so I traveled 2 hrs away to the closest store to me, returned it and exchanged it for the Vaugirard. She was like "you should have kept it because they are not making them anymore!" I still want one, just one that doesn't has flaws. But I'm guessing there is too much wrong with them so maybe they are stopping the production. It was supposed to be my everyday bag. Kinda disappointed in the SA that sent me the bag with how it looked, I'm not that desperate to take a bag that looked like they rushed the production. Hopefully you got one that looks great!

I agree LV canvas bags are one the best in my opinion, my Chanel WOC vinyl bag turned cloudy on the backside after using it about a year two or three times monthly, I would love to be Coco Chanel original classic flap just knowing the secret letters she and The Boy wrote #juicy😜 Happy Birthday to me🎂

Hi Minnie, I own both LV canvas(Artsy, Graceful MM) & empriente leather(Vtote, Montaigne GM, Pontheiu PM & Daily pouch). I love the durability in these particular luxury items. I'm not concerned about the empriente leather wallets cause they too, seem to be holding up quite well from daily use. However, I'm a bit cautious when it comes to my canvas wallets. I've heard about the cracking and because of that, I don't use them as often.
tangee b I only own LV slg's and have had no issue with my epi, vernis, or monogram mat. I stayed away from canvas slg's because of the cracking and curling.
Cracking on the folding edge is normal wear on both canvas and leather, it also depends on the design of the slg, as canvas is sort of fabric coated with “plastic”, it certainly will crack and curl. I am bit worrying about the embossed print on empriente after years, what will they look like, I know the older version tempted to get flattened by time, fingers crossed the newer one won’t. I really like empriente and epi leather.
@@beachkaka4738 Do you know if LV repairs cracking? The reason I ask is because I had a Melie empriente that had cracking along the opening and they said it was not repairable. So it was sent back to be destroyed. They gave me store credit for what I paid for it though.
@@teebee6375 I only had empriemte sealant cracking experience with slg, they repaired it for me for free, I assume yours already started damaging the leather itself, it would be much less cost for them to replace it instead of repair for free if they redeemed it as manufactory defects.
Ive had my leather pieces for many years, I've never had curling or cracking on any pieces. My earliest piece of epi, vernis and monogram mat is 2002 and it looks like it's brand new. I wish I could share pictures and date codes. This is why I've never bought canvas because although curling may be normal wear and tear, it's unsightly and I won't pay that amount for a purse that curls within two years.
I LOVE Louis Vuitton leather - especially the empreinte!! I only have 1 LV leather bag and that is the Fressia Pochette Metis.I prefer leather over canvas, but I will say that I prefer other brands leather of LV.

Thanks for all your input over the years! My question: I am often overly careful and can not really enjoy my bags. Once I‘ve worn them I have to clean and inspect them before putting them bag in their dustbag. Its like I always expect something to have happened, like I HAVE to find sth.... And everytime there is a new beautymark (as you refer to them 🙃💜) I am upset and stop using that certain bag for a while... crazy! I love the idea of „growing old“ with my bags and see the leather age as I do and think of all vacations I took this or that bag... but still! I am freaking out about each tiny damage... 🙄🙁 Do you have thoughts on this? I bought an empreinte speedy and ended up selling it and getting the trifecta in the speedy b 25 canvas. The empreinte was heavier and didn’t mold to my body. It was beautiful, just not for me.

Hey Minnie! I’m not sure if you’ve filmed your Monday Q&A video but I’m hoping I’m leaving this Q in time. 1) I have an all black Chanel Gabrielle Hobo bag on hold. I’ve tried it on, I like it. It is one of the first bags that because the chain is so long can fit nicely over the bust. I can’t wear a Chanel mini cross body for example. I don’t know what to do. It’s close to $6000 here in Canada. It’s beautiful I just don’t know. Am I going to regret buying this bag? It has no feet so it will get scratched. I love the way it cross bodies on me and it’s the first Chanel bag that I can actually decently do that with. 2) is it going to stay “in style” ; I really don’t what to do and I’m worried I might regret not picking this up now but also obviously don’t want to make a huge expensive mistake. 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ help! I have a red vernis Louis Vuitton crossbody bag and it DID get color transfer on it.... from wearing black leggings... not jeans, leggings! from Lululemon - and they weren’t even brand new. I’d be very very careful for anyone considering LV vernis :)
I love LV but only own one canvas item. It's a super old Noe that I never use because it's so old and I'm afraid it will fall apart. Then I have two bags in black epi and the key wallet in empreinte. I want to add the Speedy B in canvas and I'm currently saving for it. As for colour transfer, Amie from Chase Amie mentioned that she sprays her jeans with a protector so they don't transfer. I haven't tried it, I only have black bags, but she says it works.

Here's a question for you and/or your subscribers: When you wear a bag on your shoulder or as a crossbody that has a removable, adjustable strap, do you attach the strap so that the buckle is in front or back? I like it in back so it's out of my way, but is there a "correct" or preferred way to wear it, or is it simply personal preference? Thanks! P.S. ter zim I think it’s personal preference, I don’t feel there is a “correct” way to wear it. ☺️💕 For me, I prefer the buckle in the front, mostly for security reasons.

Hi, Minnie! I am trying to purchase my first LV item, the pochette accessoires (if I can ever track it down haha), but am torn between the monogram and the DA canvas. I can picture myself with both, and will probably just purchase whichever one I can find first as quickly as I can. Though I don't want to have any regrets so I would like a second opinion. With the monogram canvas, while I love the brown and that it is a dark color as I mostly wear dark clothes, I wonder if I will shy away from wearing it because, to me, it's flashier with the well known signature print. I definitely need to work on not caring about people seeing me wear luxury goods. With the DA canvas, I love the unique feel of the print. My concern is would the light bag clash with my mostly dark clothing or will it pop beautifully. I've been searching for outfit photos with the DA canvas, but only see people wear it with light colored outfits. I'm definitely crushing on both prints in different ways. What are your thoughts and how do you style you DA pieces? Any help would be great! Thanks!

I wanted to throw in one more thing. I used to own the PA in DA but sold it because the zipper started to tarnish and it caused the fabric around the zipper to turn blueish-green. I couldn’t remove the stain for the life of me but again, just wanted to give you a heads up, just in case. Hopefully you don’t experience the same. Good luck Babe! ♥️😘💕
Minnie, I bought a reissue mini black distressed calf skin with matte gold hardware couple weeks ago. I love it! However the bottom of the bag is not flat. It has folding edge in the middle. I saw yours is very flat. Anything you did to make it flat?

Im new to this can someone explain how lv leather items are considered overpriced but the canvas isnt, as the canvas is made of plastic/pvc with a coating. The cheapest materials are used for canvas… price difference of leather and canvas isnt much. I understand its personal preference.
I’m a LV canvas fan too. All but one bag I have are canvas. I rarely ever use the leather one I have. Although, I love my small LV goods in leather. I like Gucci and Chanel leather bags better. Although I always feel I have to be super delicate with Chanel. Question for the general consensus :) I’m looking at purchasing the Graceful MM. I’m always partial to the DE print. However, as I’m researching this bag to death (ha!), I’ve heard mixed reviews about the shoulder strap slipping off. I’m not sure if it’s the coated leather or it’s just in general. Has anyone had that problem or feedback?

Paula G I’ve never had a luxury brand suede bag, only contemporary brands, but found them difficult to clean in general because of the material. Unfortunately I don’t know the best way to remove color transfer. I wish I could’ve been more helpful. 😞

I have the MCM Liz Tote medium in cognac and I love it. It's half the price of the LV Neverfull. I have visited LV a couple times now and every time I end up with something else as the Neverfull does not interest me in person nor looking at pics online. I think it's because its too popular and everyone has it. So if you want a good alternative to the Neverfull, yes to MCM Liz Tote.

But said they do not repair the strap keeper so he is ordering me a brand new strap at no charge!!!! I know many complain about LV when it comes to repair so I wanted to tell my great experience!! My Chanel reissue was less then 6 months old when the gold on the clasp was wearing off and Chanel said it was normal and would not replace it!

In my opinion no one does vernis better than Louis Vuitton. The colors are just incredible. I have Alma BB in vernis and everywhere I go I get complements, even when I am in a different fashion house boutique.
If I could be any handbag, I would be a Speedy B 25 in damier ebene because it is an approachable modern classic that is not flashy and very tasteful and secure.

I used to be all about canvas for LV, but I’ve made the decision to move toward leather in all fashion houses. I think it’s a better value for money! Maybe some bags with a mix of both materials, but overall moving toward leather.

😁 great question! If I were a handbag, I would most certainly be a Speedy 30 in the Monogram canvas...in the Bandoulière version 😏! I like that the Speedy is the smaller version of the Keepall travelbag...and I love to travel and I am also a bit smaller in size. I dress fairly chic, but not too elegant (like a Birkin, Kelly or Chanel flap) and there is more to discover inside me than you would guess from the outside! 😅😅
I LOVE patent leather! I had bought a preloved Chanel Rectangular Mini in black patent. I think the bag was from about 2012 because it had the double grommets which worked for me because I’m petite. I hardly didn’t use the bag too much and recently decided to sell it for something else. I did. Price that the patent seemed to have a more tacky feeling than when I purchased it 3 years ago. It did make me wonder if the patent would “break down” in he future. I also have an Alma BB in vernis that I purchased in 2013. I hardly use this bag but the vernis leather still feels great.

I own a Chanel black, patent leather long wallet which I’ve had for a number of years and it’s still gorgeous! Looks brand new with no finger prints, dulling, color transfer issues, etc. and I’ve used it daily since the day I bought it. It was was my first luxury purchase & pretty scary for me at the time but now, so glad I did it....one of my prized possessions!😊 Regarding LV Vernis, I only own their canvas so am unable to offer a direct comparison there.

I own canvas, epi and vernis and truly the vernis is my favorite out of all the three. I feel that it will age the best out of the three because you don't have to worry about the patina like on the canvas pieces. The vernis is so care free because you can take it out in all the weather elements. Plus it looks effortlessly classy. All my bags are lifetime purchases for me so since I don't plan on selling any of them I feel that I need to try to buy pieces that will wear the best with time and vernis is definitely my choice :)
I used to have a speedy in epi but it kept bending in the middle and leaving a crease so I sold it and got a alma pm in epi and love it even my boyfriend likes the way the alma looks in epi. he’s only complemented two of my Louis Vuitton bags 😌
I own a wide variety of LV Materials: Canvas, Epi, Empreinte, Mahina and I think they are all great! When I compare the LV leather bags with Dior I have to say I've found a lot of defects on brand new bags. Even Chanel doesn't make better bags in my eyes. I own a few Celines (Phoebe era) and although I love them I don't think they are better quality. The only one for me, which I think makes extraordinary good leather bags is Hermès, no one beats them! :-)
Most of my LV bags were always Alma bags in Vernis and Epi. I agree with you, LV canvas is the best. I also love their Epi leather but do not like how it ages:/. As per Vernis (patent leather) when the colors are light, you will and/or could experience color transfer, CHANGE IN COLOR (some with time could turn yellowish) and what really drove me insane....the fingerprints!. The only bag I adore from LV in leather is the capucine bb❤️. As per what bag would I be,... 100% Chanel classic flap in black caviar with GHW, is classy, reliable, strong and will pass down from generations to generations😍

Price increase question 💸 What is your thought process on price increases in general?
I started buying luxury a little over two years ago and I enjoy my little collection so far, but I feel this need to buy everything I want as quickly as possibly to avoid buying later at a higher price. I just bought my dream Chanel medium classic flap before the most recent price increases because it’s gorge and I couldn’t justify buying it down the line when who knows how many thousands more it might be. I also don’t have kids yet and know once I do my financial priorities will change. Of course I won’t be going over my means, but because of all of this I can’t help but feel this need to make sure I got my bases covered to have a long lasting collection.
For instance, recently I’ve been looking for more functional work bags, but feel the need to add bags that would increase the quickest or most like Chanel. Or add bags styles I don’t need now, but know I will want one later like a classic camera bag. Or another LV Neverful since I’m a tote girl at heart. Hehe, not sure if others feel this price increase pressure or if it’s just me wanting good prices for my collection.

If I was a handbag I think I would be a Kelly bag, sellier style. On the surface, simple, classic and a little dressy. Underneath, very practical and mindful of the future.
With the question of the LV canvas bags, they are not for me. This is because of the limited choices of colour. Monogram, too in your face, damier azur, too much vachetta, damier ebene, too brown. It would be very different if they started making bags in monogram eclipse or damier graphite, or lining the azur with coated leather as they do with the ebene. How cool would that be? But sadly they seem to be stuck in a rut with canvas and refusing to try anything different. So until they get over that there will be no LV canvas bags for me.
I am a fan of the Epi leather and Empreinte print. One of my favorite LV bags is the Sofia Coppola SC Bag PM made from calfskin.

I walked into LV randomly and bought an Alma BB in Vernis light beige color (I didn’t know what it was and didn’t do any research). It’s been 2 years and I still feel neutral about the piece. Yes to color transfer and extremely low resale value. I tried selling it to fashionphile and yoogiscloset. The cost is much higher than the canvas version but I was only offered 25% of my well maintained vernis. I’ll keep it as long as I don’t start hating it.
If I were a handbag, I think I would be a Chanel classic flap medium/large black or beige clair in GHW. I’d make everyone’s hear sing, including mine. 🥰
I love my vintage canvas LVs, but I also LOVE their EPI leather. It is so durable and hardwearing, and always looks wonderful. Some of the colours it comes in are also absolutely stunning. I was lucky enough not to have to spend the earth on the pieces I have, and there's only one more EPI SLG I'm after, plus a DE LV and I'll be complete. XOXOX Minnie!!

I would definitely be the monogram Speedy 30 classic. I say this because this bag is quite simply me in purse form. My style is classic, I like my clothes structured with clean simple lines although my lifestyle is quite versatile and fun. I’m a busy wife, mother and grandmother with a full time career so I can carry a whole lot! And best of all I can be pretty high maintenance at times much like the beautiful vaccheta leather on my beloved classic speedy. There you have it! 😄

Such good questions this week!! I have to say that while I too prefer LV canvas over other design houses, I have to give it to Gucci for having the better canvas as far as durability (🙈 is that too controversial of a statement?) it feels better made to me and yet I’ve owned far more LV than Gucci. I’m really loving empreinte, it’s interesting that your negative experience with the glazing on your empreinte pieces have left a bad taste in your mouth for empreinte especially because you’ve had glazing issues with the Pochette Métis in the monogram twice over yet you still love and purchase canvas.
So coming into Minks Monday’s I had my eye set on a beautiful red leather FENDI Peekaboo, after the discussion I’m not so sure as color transfer is now a thought in my head. I did own the Gucci super mini in red and I NEVER had concerns with color transfer with that bag (the cost maybe?) the FENDI peekaboo looks far more vibrant and it is also bigger. I can’t help but think about resale value as well (I hate to, because I really love the FENDI peekaboo) but seeing it on the resell market will be a gut punch!Should I just wait for it on the pre-loved market Minnie?? Your brutal honesty is necessary❣️❣️

I love LV canvas over leather for the classic-ness of the bag, however I do own the Alma Vernis in my profile pic here(the price was great) and it's fun to carry but doesn't get the wear like my canvas pieces do. LV will never get me to fall in line with their direction. I'm still looking for that perfect Preloved Chanel Reissue 225/SM in a Carmel/Dark Tan(or possibly Burgundy) just something different but staying close to a more basic color to the brand. I will leave the bright colors for my SLGs.🤔 Unless, I find a gorgeous color like your two Red Chanels at an AMAZING price.😁💕

An SA in Chicago told me this weekend that the Pochette Metis is not going to be made anymore in canvas. I had told her my experience with the Pochette Metis (I got one sent to me from my SA in Vegas but I hated how it looked so I traveled 2 hrs away to the closest store to me, returned it and exchanged it for the Vaugirard. She was like "you should have kept it because they are not making them anymore!" I still want one, just one that doesn't has flaws. But I'm guessing there is too much wrong with them so maybe they are stopping the production. It was supposed to be my everyday bag. Kinda disappointed in the SA that sent me the bag with how it looked, I'm not that desperate to take a bag that looked like they rushed the production. Hopefully you got one that looks great!

Hi Minnie, I own both LV canvas(Artsy, Graceful MM) & empriente leather(Vtote, Montaigne GM, Pontheiu PM & Daily pouch). I love the durability in these particular luxury items. I'm not concerned about the empriente leather wallets cause they too, seem to be holding up quite well from daily use. However, I'm a bit cautious when it comes to my canvas wallets. I've heard about the cracking and because of that, I don't use them as often.
tangee b I only own LV slg's and have had no issue with my epi, vernis, or monogram mat. I stayed away from canvas slg's because of the cracking and curling.
Cracking on the folding edge is normal wear on both canvas and leather, it also depends on the design of the slg, as canvas is sort of fabric coated with “plastic”, it certainly will crack and curl. I am bit worrying about the embossed print on empriente after years, what will they look like, I know the older version tempted to get flattened by time, fingers crossed the newer one won’t. I really like empriente and epi leather.
@@beachkaka4738 Do you know if LV repairs cracking? The reason I ask is because I had a Melie empriente that had cracking along the opening and they said it was not repairable. So it was sent back to be destroyed. They gave me store credit for what I paid for it though.
@@teebee6375 I only had empriemte sealant cracking experience with slg, they repaired it for me for free, I assume yours already started damaging the leather itself, it would be much less cost for them to replace it instead of repair for free if they redeemed it as manufactory defects.
Ive had my leather pieces for many years, I've never had curling or cracking on any pieces. My earliest piece of epi, vernis and monogram mat is 2002 and it looks like it's brand new. I wish I could share pictures and date codes. This is why I've never bought canvas because although curling may be normal wear and tear, it's unsightly and I won't pay that amount for a purse that curls within two years.
I love LV leather and prefer it to canvas. I have 1 canvas piece and the rest in leather. I sold most of the canvas.
Print transfers on patent is scary bec it’s permanent. My Chanel mini is patent, I rarely wear it.
I LOVE Louis Vuitton leather - especially the empreinte!! I only have 1 LV leather bag and that is the Fressia Pochette Metis.I prefer leather over canvas, but I will say that I prefer other brands leather of LV.

I am often overly careful and can not really enjoy my bags. Once I‘ve worn them I have to clean and inspect them before putting them bag in their dustbag. Its like I always expect something to have happened, like I HAVE to find sth.... And everytime there is a new beautymark (as you refer to them 🙃💜) I am upset and stop using that certain bag for a while... crazy!
I love the idea of „growing old“ with my bags and see the leather age as I do and think of all vacations I took this or that bag... but still! I am freaking out about each tiny damage... 🙄🙁
Do you have thoughts on this? Seeing all the flawless bags when people do a two year review and the bags look new really does not help... 😳

1) I have an all black Chanel Gabrielle Hobo bag on hold. I’ve tried it on, I like it. It is one of the first bags that because the chain is so long can fit nicely over the bust. I can’t wear a Chanel mini cross body for example. I don’t know what to do. It’s close to $6000 here in Canada. It’s beautiful I just don’t know. Am I going to regret buying this bag?
It has no feet so it will get scratched.

I have a red vernis Louis Vuitton crossbody bag and it DID get color transfer on it.... from wearing black leggings... not jeans, leggings! from Lululemon - and they weren’t even brand new. I’d be very very careful for anyone considering LV vernis :)

I love LV but only own one canvas item. It's a super old Noe that I never use because it's so old and I'm afraid it will fall apart. Then I have two bags in black epi and the key wallet in empreinte. I want to add the Speedy B in canvas and I'm currently saving for it.
As for colour transfer, Amie from Chase Amie mentioned that she sprays her jeans with a protector so they don't transfer. I haven't tried it, I only have black bags, but she says it works.

Hi, Minnie! I am trying to purchase my first LV item, the pochette accessoires (if I can ever track it down haha), but am torn between the monogram and the DA canvas. I can picture myself with both, and will probably just purchase whichever one I can find first as quickly as I can. Though I don't want to have any regrets so I would like a second opinion. With the monogram canvas, while I love the brown and that it is a dark color as I mostly wear dark clothes, I wonder if I will shy away from wearing it because, to me, it's flashier with the well known signature print. I definitely need to work on not caring about people seeing me wear luxury goods. With the DA canvas, I love the unique feel of the print. My concern is would the light bag clash with my mostly dark clothing or will it pop beautifully. I've been searching for outfit photos with the DA canvas, but only see people wear it with light colored outfits. I'm definitely crushing on both prints in different ways. JessicaExplainsItAll Love both prints for the bag! I think they would both look great for the reasons you mentioned, ones a pop and the other a match your outfits. I wanted to throw in one more thing. I used to own the PA in DA but sold it because the zipper started to tarnish and it caused the fabric around the zipper to turn blueish-green. I couldn’t remove the stain for the life of me but again, just wanted to give you a heads up, just in case. Hopefully you don’t experience the same. Good luck Babe! ♥️😘💕
Minnie, I bought a reissue mini black distressed calf skin with matte gold hardware couple weeks ago. I love it! However the bottom of the bag is not flat. It has folding edge in the middle. I saw yours is very flat. Anything you did to make it flat?

what do you mean by the empreinte "melted"?
urban_empress the glazing melted, not the leather. It’s sort of a known issue with empriente glazing from 2013 to 2015, I believe.
@@Ankimbo yeesh that is scary. I knew glazing on some mono had issues with cracking but this is the first time I've heard of it. Off to RUclips I go to research :)

I so agree with your all points about patent leather. Besides what you mentioned, patent leather over the time , you will feel sticky. This time Chanel cruise came patent leather, I was so close to buy but I just don’t like the sticky feeling . Awesome Q&A. Have a great week ❤️

Im new to this can someone explain how lv leather items are considered overpriced but the canvas isnt, as the canvas is made of plastic/pvc with a coating. The cheapest materials are used for canvas… price difference of leather and canvas isnt much. I understand its personal preference.

I’m a LV canvas fan too. All but one bag I have are canvas. I rarely ever use the leather one I have. Although, I love my small LV goods in leather. I like Gucci and Chanel leather bags better. Although I always feel I have to be super delicate with Chanel. Question for the general consensus :) I’m looking at purchasing the Graceful MM. I’m always partial to the DE print. However, as I’m researching this bag to death (ha!), I’ve heard mixed reviews about the shoulder strap slipping off. I’m not sure if it’s the coated leather or it’s just in general. Has anyone had that problem or feedback?

Paula G I’ve never had a luxury brand suede bag, only contemporary brands, but found them difficult to clean in general because of the material. Unfortunately I don’t know the best way to remove color transfer. I wish I could’ve been more helpful. 😞

I have the MCM Liz Tote medium in cognac and I love it. It's half the price of the LV Neverfull. I have visited LV a couple times now and every time I end up with something else as the Neverfull does not interest me in person nor looking at pics online. I think it's because its too popular and everyone has it. So if you want a good alternative to the Neverfull, yes to MCM Liz Tote.
