Hi Tommy, Thank you do much for your insight. I am currently job searching in the Palm Springs/ Riverside County area. I moved from Los Angeles to Austin, Texas 2 years ago and I am so unhappy here! I do not agree with Texas politics at all. I moved here to be close to my sister however I am researching moving back to California, in the Palm Desert area. Your videos are perfect! I will definitely contact you once I get closer to my move. I am a single, African American 60+ year old professional woman who works for the University of Texas in the IT field. I saw that the African American population in that area is under 4%. Even so, I hope the acceptance to non-white Americans is great in the Palm Desert / Palm Springs area. Please give any insights you have on race relations. Bless you and your lovely family! I hope to contact you soon!
Hi Marcia thank you so much for watching my video and commenting. You’ll definitely feel comfortable here as we have people of all walks of live and backgrounds. Everyone comes here for one common denominator the SUNSHINE! 😃 If you have any further questions please email me I would be happy to help you. God bless you too!
@ Marcia Elle - I can give you some insight on that. I'm mixed race and having been coming to Palm Desert every year for the last 12 years. I own a timeshare there. I have never had any racial problems or incidents. Everyone is very nice. However, El Paseo area can be a little snobby. I don't know about the private country clubs and memberships, etc. My best friend is Jewish and she believes there are "stipulations " in place at most private country clubs. I'm young and have no desire to join one, so I'm good. Overall, Palm Desert is the most beautiful place, I have ever seen. I feel blessed to visit every year.
You could also move to Temecula area. My sister recently moved there. The cost of living is like Palm Desert but you are 40 min away from the beach which is Oceanside :) The population is mixed but of course it’s not as diverse as LA and San Diego
