    I have to thank you Ted. I have been making props and halloween costumes since I was eight. I always used cardboard and was very unskilled. I just subscribed a month ago. (I am now fourteen) And have been inspired to spend my work money into getting real materials to make real cosplay. Thank you for the lessons and the insperation to do more of what I love. Keep up the fabulous work!

    I've gotta say Ted, you give the best videos on the web for DIY Costuming I have ever seen. You're informative, organized, give great tips, and from the way you sound when you talk, extremely generous. Many others may have talent equal to yours, but they all seem to lack the heart that you give into these videos. For example, in this one, you've cited all of your tools and materials in the description so any newbie can dive right in! Bravo, Sir! :D

    • @EvilTedSmith
      @EvilTedSmith  2 года назад

      Hello @chrystal sexydiaetic When cutting out your foam parts make sure you labeling them Right, Left. So when gluing you know witch one you putting together. Second the registration won't naturally fall in place you have to pull and stretch the foam a bit to get them to line up. That is what pulls the pattern together. Especially when doing horn patterns.

    Dear Ted,
    You are amazing at creating costumes. I have watched almost all your videos. I have a question, could you add time frames to your videos? I'd love to see how long you work on certain parts of your costumes and the drying times for the products you use. Thanks!

    • @EvilTedSmith
      @EvilTedSmith  9 лет назад +1

      +Brittney Bauer I could, but I've been doing this for 23 years. So I build pretty faster compared to most. What I recommend is to slow down. Take your time to do it right. And learn as you go.

      +Evil Ted Smith I figured. I was just curious on how long it takes a professional like yourself. I am way to much of a perfectionist to make a prop in a time comparable to yours! What kind of prop would you suggest for a beginner? I would LOVE to create a Leona from League of Legends cosplay but I feel overwhelmed.

      @EvilTedSmith  8 лет назад

      +Brittany Wright You have to pull when you're lining up the foam. They won't do it naturally, you have to pull them in place.

    Question; would turning the templates over, create an opposite effect if my horns are very "corkscrew" in style and need a mirror like effect for the two horns?
    I intend to try your technique, but wondered if you had in a past project as yet.

    • @EvilTedSmith
      @EvilTedSmith  9 лет назад +1

      JemmetGK Yes, that would work.

      I've been working on Darkness (on and off) for a couple years and that will help IMMENSELY for his corkscrew horns.

      You can make your own by using aluminum foil. once you get the shape you want, then tape it and pattern it.

      Savvas jamal Yes, keep the lid clean so that you can put in back on and off easily. Also you can get barge thinner to add to it.

    • @EvilTedSmith

      No, it won't work the same way. I don't use rubber latex any more to seal foam. I now use NaturalForm 60-R.

    Hey Ted, I was wondering if the latex available around Halloween for appliances and skin effects would be a decent substitute for the balloon latex you used to coat the horns. And if so, could it be brushed on?
