Great video, love the way you set your dog up in the van, instead of those cages. . I like the fact you had copies of your paperwork for boarding. Love the camper on the hilux.
Thankyou so much for the information 🙂👍 l will be taking the boat over there soon with my van and my two little dogs and it was all very helpful. Thankyou again Enjoy & take care 💜
"we had rough sea conditions" nope that's a flat sea for that crossing, it gets a lot worse than that. #greatvideo btw! If you have a car, forget breakfast if you're doing the overnight crossing, you'll probably not have time.
Thank you for sharing your video. We're heading across in July 2023 and your video was very informative in relation to check in and biosecurity. We don't have a dog but it was nice to see that Lucky enjoyed the trip over too.
Thanks for posting your videos & we have a beagle Holly who will be travelling with us to TAS as well. Q how did you find going around with dog restricted access to parks etc. Thanks from SA
Thanks. We had planned from the onset that 99% of the time we would only go to places that would allow dogs to make it easier :) … there was a few occasions we had to leave her sleep in the motorhome for a short period of time for activities that we couldn’t bring her with us but we would also plan to do it around her nap time (after a meal and a walk). Hope you guys and Holly have a great time together ☺️
Hi Angie, thanks for a very informative video. We are travelling on The Spirit of Tasmania in 10 days, I was wondering where you get the permit which allows you to leave the dog in the motorhome. Thanks so much, Yvonne
Hi Yvonne, you just need to call up and tell them you want to leave your dog in the motorhome and they will send the form for you to sign and send back to them before the trip. My tip is to have a copy of the signed form with you just in case they haven’t got the form back by the time you check in. All the best and please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions :) cheers
Hi Reg, we were able to monitor her on Optus 4G for the first 4 hrs before 4G reception dropped out but I guess you could arrange with SOT to purchase their internet. All the best 👍
Yes we were glad to be able to leave her inside our motorhome after seeing the small cages and how noisy it was. Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to physically check on her during the trip… hence we were using a camera to have a quick check whenever there was reception. Luckily she was sleeping like a baby whenever we checked on the camera .. I think her favourite sleep music together with a long walk prior to departure helped ! 😊

@@regmason5611 all good, we were using Reolink 4G. We had an Optus 4G sim in the camera.
I’m glad they allow passengers to keep their dogs in big vehicles. Interesting video. Are you allowed to check up on your dog during the journey?
