I did vocational training in a rural area with limited resources and had this happen to me, the file apparently was too old. I was told to leave it as chances are it will mineralize but after research I saw that's not generally the case and not the rule. It's apparently a thing still however and its possible it will not cause complications if not surpassing the apical foramen (at the cost of the structural integrity of the root canal however). I want to ask someone with experience: How often is this the case? How frequently do obturated file pieces mineralize instead of causing further problems later on?

why would we need to remove the file if we can get access to apical part with ease from the very first beginning?

why do you use cw to retrieve the separeted file, is the broken file resiprocating file ?
