Would love to see an in-depth head-to-head of all the major 2023 premium balls (Pro V, ZStar, TP5, Tour B etc.) including separate videos for regular and X model comparisons. 👍
I can never get enough ball testing from TXG, love it. Cannot wait to see how Left Dash (current favorite) and the new ProV1 (second favorite) compare on the 2023.
Would love to see a comparison between this years model and the last model. Would also love to see a comparison between brands . Thank you for the great content
I was fitted by a Titleist rep a few weeks ago, trying 5 different models across their line, including the new ProV1 and ProV1x. My best option was the new ProV1x because, at 74, I need a higher spinning ball to maximize carry. The old idea that the x model was for faster swings is not true. BTW, he said that for the first time, more tour pros are using the x now. It’s like Tiger’s preference. He doesn’t play Titleist, but his model is the highest spinning Bridgestone. So I guess spin is in. Though none of the modern balls spin as much as the old balatas.
Thanks for sharing this. I just spent a mortgage payment on some Prov1x’s RCT for my sim and have been having second thoughts. At 65 with bad shoulders my speed has dropped and I figured that the extra spin would help.
Was lucky enough to get my white box last summer. Have never been a 'Titleist guy', but signed up for ball testing, and got picked. Had just started experimenting with some recycled AVX's a couple weeks before. Was having success with the ball but scores were stagnant. Played about a dozen rounds with the proto balls. Only lost 1 of each. The '1's' felt good off the club, putted well and on average shaved a stroke. The 'X's' were insane. Flew high and straight. Wound up with several PB drives. In one case I hit a ball 35 yards further than I ever had on that hole. Best drive previously had left me 135 yds to the pin. The 1X took me right to the 100 yard marker! The 'X' on several occasions got me front 9 scores of 40 which is 5 strokes better than average. Can only hope the 'formula' makes it into production and that they make them in yellow. Still going to choke on a $6 a ball price tag, but a ball that demonstrably lowers scores? Yeah, I'll buy them.
@@perrywiggins6567 I ordered a box from Titleist and got them a week later. I'm testing them versus the Pro V1. Before I bought them, I had an on-line chat with a Titleist rep and he advised me to get the Pro V1 and the Left dash and play them for comparison.
At the start of January ('Tech Month'), out of all the new releases and all the different reviews from every RUclips channel, this specific video is the one I was looking forward to the most for some reason :D
Prov1x is my new gamer. Same distance from previous gamer, Bridgestone Tour B X, just as good into the wind, better feel off the putter and better check up with my 56 wedge chipping/pitching. Tested the ProV1 and that would be my second choice as a gamer
I played with the new Pro V1x for the first time the other day and I’ve never seen the ball launch like it. Definitely noticeable difference in heights.
Ian hits it right on the nose: I want a ProV1 with ProV1x performance around the green. I always bounce around, but usually go back to ProV1 by the end of a season. I played TP5 for a while, but it suffered off the driver. BXS got caught in the wind too often. I’ve been playing Chrome Soft X the last couple of month. It performs as I want, I just wish it was a tad softer on the feel
Interesting. What do you think someone should lean to if they need to maybe get the ball down a bit but also struggle with consistency around the green?
Funny you mentioned bxs in the wind. I wanted to like that ball so bad. I never hit a memorable shot with them. I liked the bx though. Finally gave up experimenting with balls and just stuck with the pro v line.
For my game, the Pro V1x Left Dash is the holy grail of golf balls. The high flight, the distance, with serviceable short game spin are just a wonder! I currently have 10 dozen of the left dash and will be stocking up even more for this upcoming season.
I’ve been waiting on this video. Really would like to see a head to head with all of the comparable big name brands, x models across the board and standard across the board.
Great review and explanations guys, I was fortunate enough to be in on the white box test of these balls and I did see the difference but it was cold when I tested in Northern Minnesota, fortunately I still have a couple of each and will try them in AZ when I get down there in a couple weeks that should be fun . I have also found Titliest to be the most consistent ball performance compared to other brands.
Informative. The last ball I tried, in relation to gamer (Vice Pro +) was the Wilson Staff. My testing process start on the putting green and from their I take it to the tee box. The feel of how a ball react of my putter is the vital. The iron and driver, comes down to spin and sound. Distance for most part within acceptable yardage.
Speed of the golfer - you are right! Z Star gives me more distance at 90 mph than V1 and more spin at the short game. Best of both words … for me at 11 hcp & where I’m currently with my game.
Great Consistent Testing and Analysis! Made me Super Excited for Both Balls, however More towards Orange Core High Sspin ProV1X for S flight horizontal fades slice centre flightS! Ended Video at Exactly @5:42 for A ThunderClap Sound! 👏🏼⛳🏆🏌🏼♂😎
I play Maxfli tour exclusively..I've narrowed it down the the Tour X from the 3 current offerings. Though all 3 are super solid. Though it's definitely interesting to see how the new ProV's stack up. I really enjoy the ball reviews, thanks fellas!
I'm very much the same. I like the feel and flight of the regular tour though. Been a maxfli guy since TXG first reviewed them and then the My Golf spy guys confirming its an excellent ball. For the price I think they're the best ball on the market
I play Bridgestone Tour B X for awhile but I have spinning it too much with the irons. I switch to TP5x and it an amazing ball. However, I want just a tad more spin so I'm currently testing the new Pro V1. I haven't got to take it out on a round yet because of weather. This video has me excited to test it this weekend!
I played the tour b x and found like all bridgestone balls they scuff up and discoloured easily. I switched to the srixon z star Diamond. Same spin as the bridgestone but more durable.
I know this is a bit late but you guys should do a video matrix of all the new major brands. New pro vs , tp5s, tour bxs , chrome soft etc.. maybe at 2 swing speeds maybe 120/100 driver
X is best of all worlds been playing it for years. No probs spinning it around the greens even on really short shots but definitely tighter flight and longer off tee balls for me. Only ball challenges it for my game is the AVX which I love.
And the Srixon white boxes? Already tested? Video coming soon? And a good old fashioned comparison video would be GREATLY appreciated. Srixon vs Titleist vs Taylormade vs Callaway vs Bridgestone.
Would love them to do a comparison of the 2021 Pro V1 and X to the 2023s. The difference I have found is VERY SMALL that unless you are paid to play the new ones (Pros) and get them for free, I would use up the 2021s before considering paying for the 2023s. Performance I found is really the same.
Was hoping you were going to do a comparison between 2022 and 2023 versions, not so much between the X and X1 as we all know that…I can only imagine the reason you didn’t is because there really is no major performance difference? LOVE to see honest performance data supporting the higher priced balls.
Awesome stuff! I love all your videos and really trust the data and the opinions you guys put forth! One request... Maxfli came out with a new tour ball as well for 2023. Can you do a review on that ball soon and compare it to this test? The 2021 Maxfli was a GREAT ball and the performance was right up there with the Prov1. In my opinion and from numbers I saw in my own game I would guess the 2021 Maxfli CG was very similar in performance to the Left Dot ProV1. Would love to see how the 2023 ball performs and see if it has improved as well and can still keep pace with Titleist. Thanks!
Played a lot of TP5x last year & really enjoyed the updates they provided. I also started to play some of the yellow ZStar's for winter (usually on sale) & really enjoyed the feel Srixon provided. And now with Titleist coming around with the latest updates to ProV's, it might have me coming right back to those again! Either way, awesome to see how competitive the golf ball space is becoming.
played tour bx most of last year. really noticed tighter flights/dispersion. didnt over spin balls, maintained control greenside and wedges always stopped on time. This is making me consider going back to the prov1 lol, interested to see if bridgestone releases something new too
There was a cool video of Bryson talking about how he sets up the ball dimples for his short putts to gain consistency - wonder what pattern is easier in that regards
Been playing TP5 for about 3 years now. This year I’ve been thinking about trying the new Pro V1x due to the small fast greens at my home course. Accuracy on that course is far more important than distance. Narrow fairways and small greens means shot placement is the key. 3 time US Open Qualifier Course.
You can't play a better performance ball than Titleist. Very much worth the price. Looking forward to on course testing these this Spring. Currently playing the 2021 ProV1 but the Left Dash may get put back in the bag as well. Would love to see some head to head comparisons from TXG on the 2021 vs. 2023 balls.

I will stick with my bridgestone tour b x in warm weather and tour b rx in colder weather. I'm sure the new pro v1 and pro v1x are great, like always, but I truly like the feel of the bridgestone balls better.

My games improved out of sight since I started using prov x left dash. Greater distance straight with the driver. And much needed higher ✈️ flight. Hope new prov x goes as good. As the left dashes are very expensive
I still have Pro V1x balls from 2013 and 2015 (identified by the arrows). Are they still good? And is there a significant difference in performance compared to the 2023 Pro V1x?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but more spin = less distance if you don’t have the club head speed/ball speed to counter it.
