Within the year of him having moved, he passed away. I miss him, but I'm glad he had that year where he was happy and loving the sun and the freedom. I'm glad you had such a wonderful time with your Buddy, that you could give him more as you grew more successful. It's what our Buddys deserve, it's what everyone's Buddys deserve. Dear Pyro,
My sincere condolences to you, your family and your friends and to whoever who loved buddy. Thank you for sharing your story. Recently I've gone through something similar albeit not death but more so to say; saying goodbye to a pet knowing that you will never see them again for reasons that are beyond your control. hopefully the circumstances do change but deep down you know that by that point they won't even remember you. But you know you gave them the best chance at life and you have given it all to the fullest, looked after them, fed them, played with them, and grew them. For what it's worth it's difficult to let go but i really appreciate how you demonstrated how you collected yourself and how well you put it together. It helped me and my sister with coming to terms that we gave it all. We know theyre alive and thats what matters but theres life in the way of seeing them, not for selfish reasons but just circumstances. I doubt that you would read this and I'm not much of a fan tbh but deep down i cannot thank you enough for the message you gave us watching this. For that I'm forever grateful. It's a psychologically terrible experience but it's part of life. I've had friends and relatives pass away but nothing touched me more than the story you shared.
We will remember our life companions not just titled our family members. Stay strong.

I don’t normally comment, but this stood out for me to tell my own story. I lost my cat last year due to kidney and liver failure which slowly deteriorated him overtime. His last few months of life were brutal in that we was incredibly, you could feel his sternum if you clapped him, which would’ve been insanely painful for him. He also had a complete loss of his bowel movements as well, and thankfully he was an outdoor cat. We think that our neighbours were feeding him something every time he went out, which caused his liver and kidneys to overwork themselves, and had caused serious side effects up until his death. I cried for hours after coming home from the vets, having to watch a family member you’ve known since you were a child being taken away from you before your eyes. He is greatly missed, but never forgotten. Thank you, Pyro, for sharing your story with us.

Yeah I get this May our cat that I've had for half my life at this point had a blood clot. The day before I, I tried to get her to walk and she stood for a second and just fell over with no resistance right into the wall so i carried her upstairs to my parents bed where we took care of her and let her rest and pet her and eventually i was in there with her with my parents and she was laying on the bed sounding like she was gonna throw up and she only passed on the moment I left the room. She was one of the most important things to me and losing her was devastating and knowing she waited to die until I left ruined me I don't usually cry but I cried my eyes out for a good few hours and Im sitting here about to cry typing this. Its also making me think of our other cat who died last year Im in highschool and I woke up one morning to go to school at like 6:30 in the morning and we had to keep this cat in the bathroom cuz in the house shed pee and poo on everything. Her routine was in the morning when I'd go the that bathroom to shower shed come out from under the sink where she slept and i'd feed and give her water but that morning she didnt run out from the cabinet and i opened the cabinet and she was slumped and halfway falling out from under the sink. It didn't hit me yet and i even poured her water on her and tried to give her her food as she went crazy for food but to no evail. I then went to school where everyone asked me if i was okay because apparently I looked dead and look as if I saw a ghost or something and of course I did the usual "Im fine/Im good/Im alright" and I felt horrible for my mom because I didnt get to tell her until i got home and she of course started crying and allat. It hurt me even more because i learned that apparently my older brother and my dad had woken up even earlier and saw her and didn't say anything and I dont blame them because I didn't know what to say or do either. And seeing my dad who we dont have the best relationship but hes still my dad and I love him and we still bond and allat but seeing him tearing up absolutely broke him because I dont think ive ever seen him like that before in my 15 years of living. Losing them feels like i lost a part of me. Cutie would lick me all the time and she was so funny and her meow was adorable and she loved belly rubs. Gidget also loved belly rubs and she started to want food 24/7 and we'd give her food when she needed it to make sure she didnt get too fat. She was 12 and we dont know how old cutie was but Rip Cutie and Gidget I will forever miss them and I will never forget them for as long as i live. This is the longest comment ive ever made anywhere but seeing this made me wanna type my feelings out in a sense. Rip to your cat as well bro :C

9:29 - Sorry for the odd comparison but, I lost my Mum two years ago and this has been the most powerful sentiment in dealing with grief; "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened". You and your folks found Buddy in a shelter, alone and hanging onto life, and despite the odds, he got 14 years of joy, love and belonging - you guys were clearly a miracle for him and I hope you can rest assured knowing that you went above and beyond for him. It's because of you that he was able to leave this world as part of a loving family, and not alone in the shelter. I sincerely hope that with time, the good memories bring you as much joy as you gave Buddy. Deepest condolences, and rest in peace Buddy

Longterm subscriber here - Been around since the fake deep voice, quarter of a million subscribbles.
Ive been struggling with my hamsters health - had him for only a year, and he's way past 2 years. Hamster age; thats ancient. He's a syrian hamster, absolute adorable dude, but he's dying. Losing hair, losing appetite, barely moving.
I love him dearly, and I know he's dying soon. I've cried more for him than I can remember crying for anything else.
Your content, as cheesy and stupid as it sounds, has helped keep my spirits up. Happy, in a sense. He was dumped on me randomly because a family friend didnt want him. Had less than a day to prepare. Now he lives in a grand 100*50*50 enclosure. Plenty of chews, plenty of hides, many toys and fruit slices.
Theres a lot I wanted to do for him, a lot I wanted to provide. I know comparitively he's had a greater life than most hamsters but I can't help but feel I failed him. I know that isn't true - I cant stop time. Sometimes I wish I could.
Keep up your spirits, you've done great so far and you gave the lil guy a great time. You and your families patience was beyond astonishing - You did good by him.
You'll probably end up crying more in the future - as is how grief works. Give yourself time.

When my mom told me this today I didn’t really feel too much emotion, but this video really got it out of me. I’m very secretive with my emotions and I rarely tell people how I feel to their face. I feel like my grandfather is one of those people where I feel safe telling my feelings to and soon I won’t be able to do that anymore. My dog is also getting into the later stages of her life. I lost my cat Tchusca last year. She was 19 years old and had been with me my whole life, parents got her when i wasn't even 1 year old. To this day, living in the same house, i find myself tearing up, catching a faint smell that reminds me of her, looking towards the corner of a room and almost being transported back to when i was a little kid playing with her just to snap back to the present and realize the room is empty and she's gone. It's rough to come to terms with the finitude of life, especially with pets you care so dearly for. But the memories will stay with you for decades to come, and knowing you provided a good life to your pet is comforting, i know that they appreciated it.

Hey, so I used to watch your videos a lot, but haven’t seen them in a bit. Funny I stumbled upon this one during this time. This is probably one of the very few comments I’ve left on your channels.
My cat passed away a few days ago. He was my first and only childhood pet since I was 10. I’m 23. He had vicious kidney disease and it rapidly took over.
Saying goodbye was so hard. I stayed up with him till 7 in the morning all night the day before we said goodbye. I get how hard it is and yes you need to still show up for them even when they’re not themselves.
I’d clean his accidents up whether or not they were gross asf or minor, stuck with him and tried to encourage him when he became depressed and I was there holding his paw all the way up to him taking his last breath. My dad sobbed too. He. Never. Cries.
This cat literally saved our relationship too since we’ve been through hell together. My mom died when I was 7 so my kitty brought my dad and I sooo much comfort through all the traumas we endured. We sure do miss him.
His name was Rain. You never forget them. Rest in peace to your lil guy ❤

This May my dog of almost 16 years got ill because of some poisonous shit they sprayed around town to help with the bugs in the summer, that thing basically destroyed his nervous system and the vet said there was nothing we could do at that point.
We had to watch our already struggling dog painfully wither away.

I lost my 18yr old dog recently in almost the same way, he was just deteriorating and not living properly but he wouldn't let go. Its never feels nice losing a beloved pet. We had to put our dog down around 2 years ago. He started struggling around 2 years before we had to make the decision but just like you mentioned in your video we took him to the vets he got some medication and he was basically all back to his usual self. He would eat normally and was actually able to get up the stairs by himself again and had all his energy back. But unfortunately as time began to pass his condition did again begin to deteriorate. He would barely move laying in his bed all day.
And I remember the day when I was about ready to leave the house to go to school I saw my dad laying beside him and he started to have a pretty bad seizure and I think at that moment we all instinctively knew that today would be the final day.
It was nice to see your video and realise that many other people with pets whether you know them or not will eventually go through the same thing. But at the end of the day so long as you have plenty of pleasant memories of them left and that's what really matters.
Also I find the release of this video insanely coincidental as my parents talked about getting another dog and today was the day that we picked him up and brought him home.

My favourite cat, Zen, who had been with us since I was 13, died unexpectedly last October when I was on a comedown from a 4-MMC(horrible crackhead drug) binge and it fucking broke me man. We found him unresponsive on the floor, he was diabetic so we gave him honey in hopes of reviving him but it didn't do anything, when we went to the vet who ultimately put him down, they said it was a type of cancer in his abdomen, one that is usually asymptomatic until its too late, they said his neurological activity was basically 0 and there was no coming back. I cried for literal weeks, I had a bond with him that I'd never had with any other cat, he was my cat and I was his human, we were like soul mates, which I didn't think would happen since he was 8 when we got him and he'd had 2 previous owners. But he had the best life he possibly could have and I'm so glad we could give him that because he gave us so much. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, losing a pet you've had since childhood is so difficult, it feels like losing a part of your childhood but its also so beautiful to have had such loving companions through your journey. Never let yourself be belittled for your emotions, cry when you need to because you do need to, its how we process loss, whether its a pet, a friend or a family member, loss is loss and those emotions need to be acknowledged. Never listen to anyone who says things like "don't get pets, they will just die and you will be sad", it is so much better to have loved and to have lost than to never have loved at all, the love we have for our pets is some of the purest love we can hope for in this bitter world and the memories they leave us with, some of the nearest and dearest to our hearts. Much love Pyro, I shed a tear for you on this dark day.

Crazy to see that on the exact same day something similar happened. i had to put my cat down yesterday because she was very heartsick and couldnt get the water out of her lungs, she was only 1,5 years old and never had any issues. i had a lot of people die in my life, all of them very suddenly so i had a clear break to sort my emotions and thoughts. But i will never forget the 2 days waiting to hear from the vet if she will make it or not and even if she had much time left after the hospital day. Thats great grieve i dont wish upon anyone else. Stay strong and push through get you a song like i do blast it full volume and cry like a baby men need that aswell. Much Love

You and your family made the right choice. My first dog, 16 years old, had a stroke in my arms. It was about 1 am. Something told me to hold her for 5 minutes longer than i would have, and thats when it happened. ended up going straight to the vet and putting her down.
Dogs do fight death. They want to be here for us. The most unproblematic and empathizing beings, dogs will always put their humans first. Thats why your buddy held on.
Knowing he lived so long and was so happy is all the joy you can ask for.
