- Join us for a surprise stay at Disney's Contemporary Resort, in the MAIN CENTRAL CONCOURSE - with a view of the Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks from our balcony, pool, waterslide and spa time, delicious dinner, Christmas decorations, a surprise first look at the brand new Disney World 2024 merchandise, dinner at Steakhouse 71, special Christmas cocktails at Outer Rim and SO MUCH MORE! This is the original 1971 Walt Disney World hotel, and this is our first time staying in the main building, so we're bringing you along for the full stay, including theme park view room tour, resort tour, enjoying the feature pool, water slide and hot tub jacuzzi, a lovely dinner at Steakhouse 71, enjoying the Christmas decorations and 100th anniversary gingerbread castle, checking out the merchandise in the shops and seeing the first brand new Disney World 2024 merchandise!!!! Having Christmas specialty cocktails at Outer Rim bar, watching the Monorail come and go, and the most magical part, watching the Christmas party fireworks from our hotel room balcony!!! An Incredible (get it..) stay at Disney's original 1971 resort hotel, with so much history and interesting design, and so many fun things to do and see! Thank you Sam for the surprise, and thank YOU for enjoying it with us!

Sam, you are an amazing man for Jackie! I am in the process of trying to make reservations at the Comtemporary Resort. We have been informed that my husband only has a few months to live. His last wish is to stay there. When he saw this blog, it made him cry, and he told me that Jackie gave him his last wish. We can't afford a trip at this time.

35:44 I purchased the “Hey Disney” skill for my Alexa devices. When Sam said that, the Echo Dot in my bathroom picked it up 😂. I wish I could have it play the Space Mountain queue music when I go to bed. That would be so relaxing.

That was such a wonderful surprise that Sam did. Only way to up it for next year could be a resort view from the Grand Floridian, or get the Yosemite suite (Presidential suite) at the Wilderness Lodge as they decorated it for Christmas, even with a tree.
This is amazing! Staying in these rooms is on our bucket list. Since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by the monorail going thru the hotel. One day!😊

Wow, I really appreciate this video. I’ve stayed in Bay Lake Tower, but I’ve never stayed in the contemporary before. I’ve always wondered about those rooms. I would just probably hang out in front of my door and people watch everybody in the lobby. I really need to go to steakhouse 71 next time I’m there. I had a reservation last time, but I was so tired that I ended up canceling. I’m really kicking myself for that…

This is the single cutest and most joy-filled video on the internet 🥹 Sam’s surprise was truly wonderful. And to think you said that he wasn’t good at keeping secrets, he faked you out multiple times! The theming in the renovated rooms is immaculate. The monorail on the mirror 🤩 I didn’t realize that you’d be able to see the WDW Railroad from the theme park view balcony! So cool. Not even the Florida rain could ruin such a magnificent pool day. Your husband is a very nice guy!!..The one time I tried something similar was MUCH harder to keep secret as long as you did….back in 1998, right after Bellagio opened for the first time in Vegas, I managed to convince her we were going to Disneyland for a day trip and managed to hide the suitcase in the trunk, so she had no clue…until we passed by the highway that connects the I-15 to Anaheim and kept on going…and only then did I have to fess up! She (as well as out then 5-year old son) was GOBSMACKED! And we had a Great time!

Such an amazing view. We stayed there a couple of weeks ago and went to the Christmas party. We had the same view as you guys did. Spectacular to wake up to. I heard the train whistle as I woke up. ❤️

We were able to do Disney Springs and a few hotels for decorations over Thanksgiving weekend. The Gingeraffe cookie is incredible (had to go back because we had breakfast at the hotel to look at the Savannahs but the cookie isn't available until 4pm) but it's so fragile. 😂❤❤🦒🦒 I broke one just holding it up for a pic and took one back to NY in the front of my backpack and even though it cracked in 6 places it didn't fall apart. 😂❤
