We are bringing you along for a new Disney cruise series and this is the first day, where we get settled on board, I show you a tour of our deluxe family stateroom with verandah, this time on port side, show you the Silver anniversary Castaway Club gifts in our state room, special decorations and character costumes, BRAND NEW Disney Cruise Line 25th anniversary merchandise, watch the SAIL AWAY PARTY with brand new Silver anniversary outfits on Mickey, Minnie and the gang, hear the ships horn play SEVERAL of its incredible tones, including Small World, Star Wars and more, and hear the brand new Disney Cruise 25th anniversary song, as we sail the shimmering seas!! We also visit the buffet Marceline Market, have drinks at the piano lounge, Nightingale's, themed to Cinderella, and have dinner at Arendelle, the Frozen themed dinner and show, and moooore! We also on this cruise experience the ship turning around mid route to take a passenger in need of urgent medical attention back to Cape Canaveral, and the whole process is so smooth and handled so professionally, everyone was so impressed by the speed and smoothness of getting the patient to assistance, which is of course top priority, and then getting the ship back on track to continue everything as normal for the thousands of passengers onboard. Our prayers are with the family and our thanks to the entire crew for taking the best care of everyone, and all the passengers who agreed the health and safety of any person is priority. A stateroom with a verandah and walking the ship to see the vast ocean keep you from feeling claustrophobic. It feels very open and awe inspiring.

Today was 7 year ago that we did our last Disney Cruise on the Fantasy. Want to try the Wish eventually
I saw the wish had to turn around for a medical emergency earlier this week and it's definitely interesting to see how quickly they act. Hoping everything is okay with that person now.

It happens more often then most people realize. I (Joe) was working on a competing cruise line and saw a coast guard helicopter lift someone off the deck on a cruise.
If you ever hear the term "Bright Star" on a cruise ship it's similar to seeing an ambulance passing you by, you know a medical emergency is happening somewhere and you just keep whoever is the reason for it in your thoughts and prayers.

I hope the guest received the treatment they needed. On our transatlantic on the Magic in 2011 we had a medical emergency and had to increase speed to arrive into Barcelona ahead of schedule. Then on Thanksgiving evening in 2018 a crew member went overboard while on a Adventure of the Seas. It’s never a good feeling and I was surprised at the types of people that were more concerned with the inconvenience than the health and safety of passengers and crew.
Oh wow that is so scary!! I was pleased that every passenger we spoke with felt the same way we did, that the health and safety of anyone onboard is the utmost priority. I hope things worked out ok for them too.

I think this looks like the nicest cruise I've seen for us. I love Disney. I've never been on a cruise. Just seems so crowded for some stuff.
Yea for some parts it is, but there were so many times when we had a lot of space and didn’t feel crowded at all! Mostly only crowded during the shows and stuff.
Your cruise videos are simply the best, I’m loving how you captured this , I can feel your ENTHUSIASM through the screen .My favorite thing is how you and Sam are always yourselves, and always bring joy to whatever you do, and still are informative and show me new things every time. I love the new castaway club gifts and those ears and loungefly, and especially love your good attitude with the ship turn around, that’s scary. This is such a weird comment but I wish cruise ships had like a docked day pass for those of us who are absolutely terrified of the open sea. I wish I could go on a cruise but my fear of heights and the ocean would keep me in my room. To further put it into perspective, my flight to Phoenix to attend my fathers' funeral terrified me so much I broke out in a rash. I'm going to have to drive (which isn't the worst thing) when I visit friends in Florida (I' m in Oregon).
We went on the Wish in January, and during the Arendelle show, Olafs arm fell off! It was really funny watching the workers try to cover it up, but definitely my favorite show in the Disney Cruise Line fleet! We are going on a Silver Anniversary Cruise this summer - so excited!

So that part during nightingale’s where they said bright star, deck nine that was the original medical emergency call they made. On our cruise in January, we had them constantly calling bright star when a cast member fell through the trap door on stage during golden mickeys. He fell at least 2 storeys and apparently really did a number to his legs
Also if you watch it again, the pianist even plays softer so that the cast members could hear it
Wow that is so scary about the cast member falling, hope they were ok! Also on this cruise, the magic carpet in Aladdin didn’t work. Last time they were on a moving magic carpet with fog and all that, but this time they just sat on a box w a carpet on it. You have to wonder how many things can go wrong with the sets and trap doors and moving pieces of the show. Again just hoping the passenger is ok and so impressed with the whole crew on how they handle these things.

It makes me sooooo happy to know I'm not the only one who gets emotional at these things!!! I believe it was around $80, so yes expensive for what it is, but you do get to keep the super nice pillow cases, towel and all the decorations, and they set it all up for you so you don't have to do anything!! You open the door to your stateroom and it's all decorated, it's such a nice thing to do as a surprise for someone, I surprised Sam with it! You can get it on the DCL website after you check in and are adding "extras" to your cruise! To me it was worth it, of course you can always bring your own decorations too, just make sure you bring magnets to hang things with!

It’s nice you get the pillow cases. I just had a Google and found alllll the things you can arrange to be in your room! 😲 I will have to think hard and choose what surprise to go for. There is one where you get dressing gowns! That is quite expensive but I can imagine it to be magical ✨ looking forward to more of your vlogs 🩵🩵

I don't know if you guys did on purpose or even knew you foreshadowed in your vlog. I forgot when, but at some point in your vlog there was an announcement about "Bright Star" in the background. I am not sure if you guys are aware but that is cruise code for medical emergency. You will here the captain or the officer of the watch come on the intercom and say "Bright Star Bright Star Bright Star..." and then a location on the ship. When you are in frozen dining you get the announcement about returning to port because of a guest with a medical emergency. I am 99.9% sure the two announcements are related. Just FYI.

I would love to sail on the Wish!! I have been on the Magic and heading on the Dream in August for the Silver anniversary and I cant wait. The wish is definitely on the top of the cruise bucket list though! Great video :)
There is truly no cruise like a Disney cruise, and the 25th celebration did not disappoint. That new theme song for the 25th is a bop! So glad that you two were able to squeeze this sailing in before your next SoCal visit. 😁 Can neither confirm or deny the quality if the actual food, having never followed through on booking a Disney cruise (spoiler alert: we’ll never make it to Pearl), but on the basis of theming alone…Arendelle is definitely our favorite of the restaurants aboard the Wish! I can’t believe I only just noticed Olaf being wheeled around on the little cart 🤣 The Set Sail for Adventure package was adorable, too. Totally worth the upgrade! ✨ Always a little scary to hear that someone is sick or injured enough to necessitate a change of course, but glad to hear that Disney did their part to take care of that guest, even if it came at the expense of the original itinerary. That’s what keeps us coming back to Disney, in the end. Thanks for sharing your first day with us; can’t wait for the rest of the cruise series!

I am NOT a cruise person, but let me tell you... watching your vlogs makes me want to change my mind! These vlogs are always SO fun. Hope that person ended up being okay! So scary to have something happen while mid-sea!
Haha I totally thought I wasn’t too but these cruises have been so fantastic that now I love it!!! Everything has just been great and it’s that old school Disney magic. I love the ocean too so those moments looking out over the vast blue sea sparkling in the sunlight or moonlight, are just magical for real!!
Also yes for sure scary but so glad the crew handles thing’s professionally like that. Amazing how much organization has to go into this, I’m fascinated by the logistics of how cruises work.
My response to people who say "I don't think I'd like a cruise" or "I'll never go on a cruise" is "I can tell you haven't been on one, baecause if you had, you'd never talk like that" lol. Do it, but once the bug bites, it never stops. Moanas "How Far I'll Go" will play on loop in your head and is forever my spirit song. "See the line where the sky meets the sea, IT CALLS ME!!".

Just watched the first part of your Disney Cruise Silver Anniversary At Sea series, and I gotta say, there’s nothing more beautiful than seeing you walkthrough of your stateroom tour, watching the Sail Away party and the live performances, hearing the beautiful melody horns on the ship, and especially enjoying live entertainment during dinner. And then of course, watching your favorite Disney movies on Disney On-Demand.
One thing though is that hearing the captain’s important announcement made me panic when he said that the guest needed medical attention, and that was really sad for me to hear. But I hope the guest will feel better soon. And I’m so relieved that the captain and all of his crew on the ship care about health and safety for their guests a lot more than anything.
My friends and I were on the Wish on 4/24-4/28 so just missed the 25th anniversary celebration.
None of our party of 4 were given a wand and I’m a Platinum member. Not sure what happened but oh well.

If you go to a different bar (not right on the main pool deck) the DOTD will not be pre-mixed :) They’ll make it for you on the spot and it won’t be diluted with all the ice like the pre-mixed stuff.
