First, thank you. This is very helpful. And then for a tutorial suggestion, yards. Not just for the landscape but how to fill them properly, like pools, sitting areas, etc. I've always loved yours.
Would it work if I did it the same way I did this tutorial? So like a walkthrough of ones I've done in the past and with explanations (as well as I can make them at least) 😊
This format was really helpful - you are right about individual floor plans being entirely situational so conventional “how to” build tutorials do not give such a good overview. It was good to see the different style homes. My biggest take away is about flow! Following the corner lines, doing the staircase first, and the upstairs before the downstairs- I will give these a try. I hate playing in cramped houses with tiny hallways. I am always trying to find space for hobby items - now I see why I should include garages! Thank you so much
garages are indeed a good way to include woodworking tables, flower arrangement tables, workout equipment, even music instruments - stuff that real life people who don't need their garages for their cars would use them for! 😊
Thanks! I would like to see tutorials about roofing and how to make a room wich doesn't feel big and empty (maybe it is weird but this my big problem).
It's possible you just make your rooms too big. I always keep in mind the number of tiles taken up by things like beds, dressers and desks while building a floorplan and imagine what and where I could place things as I create the rooms and that helps me avoid making rooms that are too big or too small or inconveniently shaped.
In small hallways I always make sure the doors open inwards to the rooms, it just gives it that extra touch 😄 Also as a fellow Dane, I can totally agree with the livingroom not being where the frontdoor is, just thinking about the heating expensew and the winter draft makes me 🥶 + I feel like we take such pride in our homes and the private life, that being invited into the livingroom is a special thing, and not for every encounter and everyone who just drops by, but for special occasions, family and dear friends. 🤗
thank you so much. this tutorial is super helpful and i would love to see more videos like these from you in the future! i'm always trying to improve my sims builds because i do like building but i'm not very good at it, so these little tips and tricks really go a long way :)
I've gotten myself a bit stuck with my current build. I made it specifically for how I had imagined the inside downstairs to look. Now I have a huge box and I somehow need to make the exterior, upper floorplan and roofing situation all look good 😬
I like to turn my doors so they seem to fit with the "direction of the room" better, not sure how to explain it as it's mostly a feeling, so it's not always they open into the room 😌
Hi, can you please explain what you mean by following the lines and corners? I don't understand 🙈 If you are starting from scratch there will be nothing to follow? Or at the most a box, which doesn't have any variety.
follow the line of the house exterior, the shape of the house, unless you've made a literal box for a house, it should have corners you can follow when doing the floor plan
Ok so how do you get a in game generated floor plan? Something printable. Something i can yake and use for another app? Or do i have to trace my screen with a frickin pencil here??
Why are you tracing my floor plan? Btw - this isn't a game generated floor plan, I've built this myself and came up with it myself. Don't trace my work 😅
Having your living room by your front door is NOT a Scandinavian thing 😂 At least not here in Norway. Don't think I've ever known a single person that has a living room by the front door (except my friends in England)
@@AvelineYT Oh! I listened again and I know what you meant now haha! Its not a Scandinavian thing to HAVE it, but to DISLIKE having it 😂 Gotcha! My Norwegian rage is now calmed down 😂

Well it looks i may have to trace my work afterall it sucks that there's nothing to translate them into other apps for printing
Can you do a landscaping tutorial! Yours is so beautiful!! ❤❤

@@AvelineYT Yes, I think that it will totally work. This is the best format I've seen for The Sims tutorials. Great job and than you, again 😊

Was hoping to have another one covering landscaping up this week but didn't manage due to an impromptu Copenhagen visit, but next week!!
Hi, long time no see, I enjoyed your book reviews so far. And thanks for this tutorial too
thank you so much!!! you’re a life saver
I've gotten myself a bit stuck with my current build. I made it specifically for how I had imagined the inside downstairs to look. Now I have a huge box and I somehow need to make the exterior, upper floorplan and roofing situation all look good 😬
This was actually very helpful
Hi Aveline! I like this tutorial so much but can u do a tutorial for how to place windows?
And I forgot to wrote there: can u do please a tutorial with how to place windows and roofs
Hi Aveline! This was very useful. Thank you very much. Are these lots in your gallery? Couldn’t find them and I love the first Modern Eco house!!
They all are, yes 😄 you can also find them on the channel and the downloads should be linked in their descriptions!
But... if you think about it when you open a door it opens into the room so nothing happens if the doors are near each other in the hallway
I like to turn my doors so they seem to fit with the "direction of the room" better, not sure how to explain it as it's mostly a feeling, so it's not always they open into the room 😌
How do i get 2D floor plan in this game? 3D is already there. I dont need 3D.
Yes build a farm please!

Who else is using this for bloxburg on roblox bc they have built literally good speed build?
Wow
Since your main advice here is to follow the exterior corners, I suggest you make a video about designing the exterior of the house
I mean... all exteriors are extremely situational though 😅 I'm not sure I can make a video like that
@@AvelineYT There has to be some general advice you can give, and maybe you could talk about a few common architectural styles
Perfect🤗 🌟💗

I need an on paper floor plan here!! Not screen shots of top down view.
My dude, this is a The Sims 4 floor plan tutorial
I know i just don't want to have to trace my screen with pen and paper...
Why are you tracing my floor plan?
Btw - this isn't a game generated floor plan, I've built this myself and came up with it myself. Don't trace my work 😅
@@AvelineYT no not yours... I have my own that are already built. I just need a way to translate MY plans onto paper without drawing...

I didn't say it was, I said the opposite!! 😂 Or at least I meant the opposite - I too am Scandinavian lol
