Watching this, I've realized that my issue isn't so much the building of mansions, but the furnishing. I never really know what to do with all that space. My brain just goes _pfft_
I'm the same way lol. I go and make the floorplan and then go and put furniture and realize that it's tiny compared to the room XD
Same. I take forever trying to figure out a floor plan but then I run out of rooms to fill the space so I just end up with empty space
I have a simple solution for your problem: have different functional skill based rooms and when these are too far apart, build separate bathrooms and kitchens near them so that Sims working on their skills don't have to walk too far to take care of their needs.

build floor plan is kinda easy~ im an architect and I learned tons of stuff I never thought before in college xD Im starting to play the sims to try to practice a bit~ My advice for ya is to always look the existing floor plans and try to understand how it works in real life :) example, in real life I put the dining room close to the kitchen so the hot food will travel less from the kitchen to the dining room :)

Time saving tip: Instead of just deleting the walls after making a room (for the balcony trim issue), you can just use a foundation🙂💕
Love the mansion! I always wing it and it seems to work out, but the one time I built based off of (an unroofed, in construction, aerial view🥴) of a real mansion, the roofing was AN ENTIRE SIN🤣 lmaooo

lol this vid was more like a 'how to build this mansion' instead a how to build any mansion tutorial. it was still cool, just didnt explain any of the thought processes that go into mansion building as apposed to a regular family home!

Such as why you're putting bump outs where you're putting them (such as saying you're trying to make the shape more interesting or even and explaining why you think it needs it) and the different styles that you may build your mansion in! This was more of a follow along.
