Styling your home is one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to get an instant interior pick-me-up! I love how good styling creates a cozy mood and makes a home feel welcoming and personalized instantly! I just love how you consistently encourage folks to reach for their own tastes and styles, I am all about supporting folks as they develop that sense and I love these tips! Thanks!
I love that you use live plants/greenery in your home. The purple shamrock is so pretty! 😊❤ I'm going to try and get a start from my sister...fingers crossed, Great tips
This is a great video! The design tips and examples of each are very helpful. As a maximalist, I find leaving negative space the most challenging. I just want to keep layering but negative space is essential to a well designed and thoughtful room. Thanks Ashley!
Gosh, SAME!!!! I just love all my trinkets and decor, but I always seem to appreciate them more when there’s some breathing room around them! Thanks for watching and for your sweet comment 🥰
Ashley, you're the girlfriend we all wish we had to turn to for decor advice! 🫶🏻☕️ The content you create feels inspiring, approachable, and so easy to follow. Also, thank you for being a content creator that's not pushing products for the viewers to buy. It's actually what sets your channel apart from others, and I'm here for it. You are pure class and talent!
That just made my day!!! ☺️ I truly love design and am passionate about helping others create a home they love!❤️ I appreciate your sweet comment and encouragement!
This video was so helpful! Thank you for the tips. I, too, am a maximalist (maybe that's just part of being from the South!) and always thought that, while 3 is good, 10 is even better! 😅
Hi Ashley, I’m really enjoying your videos and finding them incredibly helpful. I’m still working on creating my mood boards following your last video, and am seeing a definitive style emerging. I just wanted to add that I love your delivery, calm, gentle, informative and friendly - and the way you talk with your hands is endearing! Do not change a thing! 😘
Gosh, thank you so much for taking the time to write that sweet comment. It honestly means so much to me! I really do try to share design ideas in a way that's helpful and positive. I believe so much in the power our home environment has on our overall wellbeing, so to know that you're enjoying my videos and connect with the topics I'm sharing about makes my day!! I love hearing about your mood boards and emerging style, keep up the good work!
Awe, yay!!!!! 👏👏 that makes me so happy 🥰 our entry table is probably my favorite spot to style. It’s like my little weekly creative experiment and I always look forward to changing it up. Thanks for watching and happy Sunday ❤️
Awe, thank you!!!! Let me know what layout issue you have! I’m happy to help❤️ I’m planning a few upcoming videos where I answer our Subscribers design questions!!
@@ashleychilders thanks a ton for replying to my comment. I am from India and have a peculiar layout of my living and dining which I am dying to change.
I love smart bulbs, where both intensity and colour can be modified with an app, or Alexa or Google Home. I have a soft, warm ambient light beside my favorite chair-very low and warm for reading my Kindle. It becomes a bright daylight lamp when I want to work on my embroidery and need to see colours accurately and see clearly.
I notice that you do not have any drapery in your home. Your home is beautiful, but I can't help thinking how much more beautiful it would look with lux drapes. Is there a reason for that choice such as allergies? Just curious....thanks.
Ahhhhhh, gotcha!!! There are beams in the vaulted ceiling that have made it difficult to dress the windows as a whole. I’ve thought about putting drapery on the lower French doors and just leaving the uppers undressed, but I just can’t decide. I think we’re repainting all the trim in that room later this year and I’m considering having custom rods made to accommodate the beams. If I do, I’ll for sure make a video about it!! 🥰🥰
@@ashleychilders oh kk I see. Makes sense. I would put something with a lot of pattern and boldness just to shake things up and because it's so neutral you can do that, even if it's just fabric you love to add charm and warmth etc. I know it will look beautiful when you are all done regardless of what you decide to do. Love your channel. :D Happy New Year and God bless!
Why would you put the coffee table in the middle of the room and not be able to use it to put your coffee on it because it's too far away?.. Just because it's picture perfect doesn't mean it convenient or comfortable-"
We use all are coffee tables… they’re the perfect distance away from our sofas for us. It’s a matter of personal preference and for us the distance is perfect.
I always like to try and position it opposite of the doorway, or at least on a wall where you can clearly see the headboard when you walk in a room. It just makes the room feel so much more inviting that way!
Not necessarily, everyone is at a different part of their home design journey and if I can help just one person feel more confident styling, by sharing my experience then I've reached my goal.
Really good tips. My only issue is with your pointing your finger at the viewer so much - it's just annoying - if you're open to constructive criticism, of course.
She’s an artist, therefore she speaks with/uses her hands a lot. I didn’t even notice it until reading your comment but it didn’t exactly ‘trigger’ me.
