      Yes. I love that vintage landscape art but also modern and my decor is more organic modern and sometimes I get stuck on how to display both.

    My favorites and the ones I plan to do in my new-build house in a few months are the mill work or wood trim around windows, doors, and picture frame moldings on walls and also the wallpaper for a powder room and perhaps sunroom or pantry.

    • @ashleychilders
      @ashleychilders  10 месяцев назад

      I love those too!! Good luck with the new build, how fun!!

    I would love to see a video with real life “era-common” or track homes, and how to refresh and remodel. For example, common 70s houses, and how you’d update them. 80s A-frames, 90s split level, 2000’s etc

    Beautiful video. Inspiring! I don’t think the majority have a pantry, utility room or mud room (what is this? American concept?) but it’s nice to see

    • @ashleychilders
      @ashleychilders  9 месяцев назад

      Yes, some people in the US do and others don’t, kind of depends on the age of the home and square footage. A mudroom is usually a back or garage entrance where there’s storage for boots, coats, etc, pantry is walk in food storage, similar to a scullery, and utility/laundry room is where the washer/dryer is! Usually in the US they are not in the kitchen like some places in Europe. Thanks for watching! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! ❤️❤️

    Ashley, would you consider maybe someday decorating a Tiny Home.
    I’ve just had a 8x20 beautiful THOW built!
    But this home is quite beautiful because it’s built with the style of 40’s-50’s-60’s California craftsman style. It’s a carpenter’s dream work with all the details of exterior faux rafters, cupolas, dentil molding, bay window seat, copper roof… it’s just as beautiful inside as well.
    I’ve ordered the beautiful chesterfield queen sleeper sofa (in Chenille Basketweave Oatmeal) for the living space because of the low back on this chesterfield with matching smaller club chair.
    This will sit in front of the bay window seat. So i guess you say the sofa is the focal piece.
    It does have a 8x8 bedroom loft with windows on either side. I do want to add a beautiful Dutch Door! (Is that something you would consider?
    It’s so much work for me trying to figure this home out😅.. I’ve mentioned this before to you, I’m always saying “what would Ashley do”?
    Tiny homes are so very popular now, I feel certain you would get a lot of interest if you took a close look at these type of homes.
    You are much appreciated 🙏🏻♥️🏠

Went perfect with our new Samsung smart washer and dryer in brush black with a touch of copper knobs I just love how it totally flows with the rest of our home !

    Beautiful! This year I’m giving my builder grade fireplace a makeover and adding builtins. I have several other projects in mind but it will be done in phases as finances allow. The only thing I worry about is if my home will be too overdone for my neighborhood. And if we sell one day will we lose money.

    We had just moved over the summer and are doing a lot to our 1920's home. I love the idea of the wall molding and want to apply it to our walls and maybe even the ceiling. I also love wallpaper so much but it is pricey, something I need to save for. Thank you for all the wonderful ideas❤

    Ashley, so many newer home are using black clad windows. My home is designed in modern craftsman cottage style and it will have all wood windows exterior doors including 6 panel bifold. Did I make a mistake?? Worried about windows and doors!

    • @ashleychilders
      @ashleychilders  4 месяца назад

      You absolutely DID NOT make a mistake! Don't get me wrong, there's a place for black clad windows, but their whole rise in popularity originally came from being a more affordable substitute for the beautiful low profile steel windows seen on historical homes...and then they were adopted as the "Go-to" window in the modern farmhouse movement a few years back. I love that you went with wood for your craftsman cottage. It's a timeless choice that aligns with the original features and details of classic craftsman architecture! You chose so wisely!

    I have doggy poop bags in a tube and I have a little bin out back.
    Then that gets emptied into disposal bin…. First time doggy owner.
    PS I am building my house I just painted the airing cupboard… it’s gorgeous 💕
