Trust me @JR-kk6ce it's the feeling you get when you're able to truly make a difference no matter how small in the lives of others and/or show them how to make those differences occur via their own selves that makes all the horrible stuff fade from memory. The best medicine when down & depressed about your own life or that of others or in this sometimes very sick world is to get up, get out, get connected with folks who love life & love people in general and who work every day to help others in some way. Helping others, focusing on their needs instead of our own is the best prescription for keeping our minds and spirits in good health. Not all of us are wealthy & able to achieve Mr. Khan's level of service but as MLK said: "Every body can be great because every body can serve." He was so right. AmeriCorps, VISTA, Peace Corps, R.S.V.P, Senior Corps and so many more opportunities for a life of service and/or a summer, 10 months, or whatever you're able to commit to. ❤😊

We did a community fundraiser for Gaza. We just wanted to feel less helpless and help feed some people. After all the work and being nervous if we would reach our destination goals, at the end our main concern is if any of this would ever reach people of Gaza. People all around the world are donating their hard earned money only to see those trucks melting in the sun and most importantly people starving to death.

Yes Emily, the ridiculous inspection procedures for incoming aid are merely cover for the real objective which is simply to minimize the amount of aid coming in.
It’s very analogous to “literacy tests” that states in the southern US imposed on voters pre-Voting Rights Act. “Ensuring” that all voters were able to understand the ballot and had the necessary capacity to understand candidates’ positions on issues was a cover to drive down the Black vote to the lowest level possible without just overtly banning Blacks from voting.
It’s the same kind of cover that any open-eyed observer can see right through.

I think a civil suit, if allowable, would serve an important roll. It would lead to compulsory discovery of evidence and review by an American jury with full rights to award compensation and punitive damaged. It would make a statement.

Ryan, thank you for putting this in context there at the end. It's important for everyone to put themselves in the shoes of the Palestinians trapped in Gaza. Innocent people hoping each day that there is a chance to find water for their family if they have any family left. Clean water is nearly impossible to find in many parts of Gaza and that's because of Israel and the US government.
