@Tim Gilliam. Love your videos. Would you be willing to share if it is Hempel yacht-grade clear coat that you used to finish these gorgeous doors? If so, which product and where is it available? I understand if it isn’t something you are willing to share. I am trying to salvage my 9 Doug Fir French from 1988 on a budget. Thank you.
Great work.. I’m always telling customers out here in Arizona, that anyone can make a door look decent for a few months or a year. But really, it’s all about the long term plan for ease of maintenance. It would be cool to exchange emails and some trade secrets. I’ve got a finish I use out here that you may like to hear about, pretty sure it’s CA compliant also. Are you guys spraying oil still or water? How is the stripper situation out in California? No meth chloride right? It still seems to work effectively and if I could find something effective, but less toxic, I would be pretty stoked and I’m sure my guys would be also.
Hey Tim great video! I have a set of garage doors im trying to figure out what to do with. I would love your opinion on them. If you had time I would greatly appreciate it!
Hi guys, beautiful job, only one question, since you guys already removed the doors and have them horizontally...why don't sand, stain and finish top and bottom of doors to maximize the protection?
I was thinking the same thing. As a paint contractor for the last 25 years I’ve learned it’s critical to seal all 6 sides of any exterior door. These guys are definitely professional. I’m going to assume that they clear coated the top and bottom.
I am curious what top coat you used if you will share. I have had several people recommend Woodkote Ultra Flagship 450 but wasn't sure if that was good to use since it's classified as a polyurethane and not a varnish.
Hi. Thanks very much for your video! I have 4 fir doors to refinish. Sounds pretty easy until you understand that a company came before me and botched the job. There is a mixture of work done to each door. They need to match when I’m done. I’m looking for some advice about how or if this will work out for me. All door were poorly sanded. Some gave stain and polyurethane over the bad sanding. Anyone who might be able to give me professional advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
There is really a top coat for yachts but not for use on a little fishing dingy or modest sailboat?ok I googled it. It’s a product called yacht enamel. 🤣 your business idea of doors only is brilliant. Great videos.
Thanks for the tips! Currently working on my parents door too 🚪 ✨

All this means nothing without mentioning what type of stain and finish you use. Forget the music and describe what you are using and doing.
Is yacht grade, marine grade? 🤣
No
