The best part about it is that unlike most things using synthesia, it doesn't have the entire keyboard being hit at once. (Basically, I'm saying that someone that isn't an octopus with actual hands could play this. :P)

that's cause it's simplified. the most aggregious imo is "cast the shadows out from sight, a final stand a shouting cry" where the pitch shifts are just completely removed

Verionne Oh, I'm sorry that I'm not able to play a 5 minute song involving both hands after less than half a year of piano lessons. Do you play piano? Probably not, otherwise you would realise how unrealistically high your expectations for amateurs are.
I used to show this to my parakeet when I was little, he loved listening to it, I'm not really the emotional type but this song has a lot of nostalgia for me, especially the piano version.
This reminds me of when I was younger, some of the best things happened in my life at that time and I didn't even know it, I am happy where I am now but returning to this is nice, thank you

Wow I find myself coming back to this video multiple times throughout the years. I saw this video in like 2014 and at that point I didn't have the skills to learn it, but then in 2017 I finally learnt it and played it on my 7th grade graduation in school. And even thought I pretty much dropped the song after that I still find myself coming back here... Just amazing!

For a long moment I listened, the song was different than the original. It felt more upbeat. It lacked the emotion of the original, I thought.
And then the chorus struck me. It brought the kind of smile to my face that is rarely seen. Thank you for this. For making this. I was to discredit it at first, but everything in place here was intentional, and it is lovely.

Yeah I know... The octave is tough for me..
play one of the notes instead of both? my hands are small as well, but i still try to play the octaves
C# and A# together and C# and G# together is what I figured out while I was trying to diddle around with the piano. It fits for my hands and still works together.
I made it into a duet with my brother so that I won't kill myself on those frequent octaves.
get a small keyboard XP
but in all seriousness if tiny hands are a continuous problem with playing the piano, you might want to try to find yourself a keyboard with smaller keys like the one i play. my hand spans one and a half octaves on this tiny keyboard and it makes playing certain songs way easier.

My best friend's learning to play the violin. There's some awesome opportunities in this for the violin to be used, and he could take care of those higher bits in the chorus that I can't quite jump back and forth from on the piano yet.

It's not as hard as it seems! I never had a teacher, and I dont think my "hand moves" are right -lol- but I learned this! I think the person just need to put passion and dedication, everyone can play it. You need a piano/keyboard too. hah :)
