The song is about how the Germans want to be proud of their country (patriotic in a way) but can’t due to all of the horrible things in the countries past. The chorus is basically saying: Germany, my heart in flames, want to love you but also hate you. Powerful message which I can understand since I’m half German myself!

im russian but i live in germany for over 26years now.
one thing i can tell you is, that whenever you try to be partiotic here, they will mark you as a nazi.
sad part is, not by other races, cultures or foreigners.... by germans.
you just need to take a look who is defending the country (like military wise for example).

Hi, I'm a big Rammstein fan and would like to tell you a few things about the song: on the one hand, it would be nice if you turned on subtitles so that you can understand what is being sung and, on the other hand, it is particularly important here because the story of Germany is being told positive things as well as negative things this song is very complicated you should listen to it again with subtitles.
