Hi Mike, I'm a cardist that has been practicing the Spring for close to a year now and would like to share some tips. 1. The type of deck your using matters. Starting off with an old and clumpy deck is usually best, but kudos to you for using what looks to be a new deck. The brand also matters since using cheap dollar store decks make it harder for most people to do the spring, $3 Bicycle decks re usually best since they are cheap, soft, and smooth. 2. Grip. There are multiple different grips you can use to do a Spring, (the one I practiced with is called the "deep grip" I believe, the grip you are using is the basic grip) but one thing that is consistent between all the different grips is that when you bend the cards, your hand that you hold/launch the cards in should look like a reverse "c" and as you do the spring and get towards the end of the deck, straighten out your hand to look like a sideways "u" or "v", focus on especially straightening out your thumb as you do the Spring since that is where the cards should leave/launch from your hand. 3. Its harder to do the Spring with warped cards. When the cards start to look particularly bent inward, reverse the deck and do a couple of spring on the opposite side. Make this a habit every two or three springs to spring the deck on the opposite side once or twice. Hope you find some of these tips helpful if you do see them.
Lol unfortunately yes, that's unavoidable. A card spring is one of the most destructive things you can do to a deck of cards. Even if you alternate corners and even out the bending of the fibers they are a consumable product that will wear out eventually. Big box stores that sell multiple decks for cheap are the way to go if you want to learn and perform this trick for fun. The better you are at doing a spring the less you will break the cards.
@@evilangels61 I don't think that's the reason. One of my favorite RUclipsrs, Mark Rober, posts once a month and he still gets millions of views. I think the algorithm haven't decided yet to give me a little push. I don't know when, but it's going to happen 🙏
Hey! Actually it's all about views. I got a great rateo for new viewers/subscribers (a good metric is 1 subscriber every 100 views, I get 1 subs every 70 views). It's all about time, patience and practice. Anyways I'm working on it, but English speakers seems to like it! Are you English?

I really surprised on how he never gives up! We all have that feeling when you do so bad you just stop. But the fact that he never gives up is amazing!
What I like about your videos is you explain your mistakes. I learned to card spring years ago while learning other magic and cardistry tricks, and every mistake I saw you make, you mentioned and explained why it was wrong.

Ok i just found your channel. Alredy in the past 2 hours i watched all your videos. Subscribed, and turned the notifications! You should do a video on “the perfect shuffle.” It’s something that if you have the right technique you could learn in a day for sure, or at least do it a couple times.
3:58 its called straddle grip mikey boi. And kudos man for trying a cardistry move which takes a lot of finger dexterity and finger strength. Personally if i were you doing cardistry with no experience I'd do the thumb fan bc its much easier bc you don't need to build a good finger strength to do it. Btw love your vids man, i've been watching them constantly like one after the other bc im a new sub :) Keep up the good work brother.
And Mike if u decide to do cardistry again Please try the riffle fan. Its a difficult move but its well worth the grind. Its one of the most satisfying moves you can do with cards. And i suggest watching a tutorial by the original creator of the move dimitri so we don't have to watch you pick up cards. Bc i've been there once and its not fun picking up those cards.
