My son is 8 years old and we are vegetarians. We had not given him outside food for 4 to 5 years, we used to well feed him at home and then take him out. He never used to ask too. We have not given him screen time - only in summer holidays he is allowed to watch tv. Phone is out of question and he doesnt know major operations of a phone, except to click a photo in rare cases. We just stop immediately if we see kids with a phone. We also dont watch tv - we have phones and we have trained them that the videos or the content we are watching is not for them. Anything is possible if you have control over yourself first and start since beginning- small age training is very imp. My second kid is different - shes a foodie and she asks immediately if we eat anything in front of her. In this case we completely stopped getting packeted snacks at home. We keep nice nuts or trail mix - though salted , it is better than other packeted foods. They also eat normal dry fruits too and peanuts. My son looks for plain poha if nothing is there to eat. Still i wont give in for those easy foods.i keep sprouts ready. I boil n tadka n give - even my 2nhalf girl also eats happily. Though we parents eat out sometimes we well feed them at home and then take.

Great interview! Thanks for bringing her and enlightening parents. We need to bring lots of awareness on how to nurture kids and introduce them to healthy lifestyle. Kids need this kinda of education, instead of rushing them to get good grades. This sets an example of proper discipline in their life early. Success and good grades will follow once they establish discipline

Send her only what she likes, my daughter doesn't eat rice in the lunch box, so I give her egg dosa, egg Chapati + cut carrots, aloo paratha+ curd, vegetable sandwich, egg sandwich, and vegetable pasta. Try to give these which are healthy and many kids eat them.
