- This is the special video I promised you all that I wanted to share to you. It's me sounding off my Whelen WPS-3000 at my friend's house along with his EOWS-612 and Thunderbolt 1000T. We had such an excellent day. Yes, me and Ben were both wearing our West Shore Services T-shirts. Yes, my siren head was really loud. No, we did not have any complaints about our event. Everything went well.
Looks great! Moving that out oughta be fun...
I can't imagine. My MC is 200 pounds and I don't dare move it anywhere. I can only imagine how heavy a 3000 is.
Valra Bellkeys a 3000 is roughly twice that, but almost all the weight is in the rotator box. To say the least, moving it in and out was no easy task, and we each lost several years off our lives

Get a 5M for it, make sure you have 3 phase power or a single phase motor, point the horn at your neighbor’s house, and then you’re good to go! The neighbor would be so happy he would break your fence to hear it better and maybe even invite the cops to hear that awesome roar of a 5M 1000T

When this was happening I was at that newly installed fs mod at Ford field. The mod did not go off and me and my brother who is also interested in sirens were just there in disappointment.
I'm sorry to hear that but I do know that it isn't hooked up yet. I also plan on filming it next month which should be hooked up by then. Ben has an uncle who would know most cause he is the one who activates the sirens in Livonia.

I think all 3 of them is too much. Kinda clashes the frequencies. The Whelen sounds the most dominant.
I think the model of the Whelen made 130dB from 100', and that's most likely why it's so dominant, and the EOWS-612 makes 124dB, Thunderbolt makes 125dB.
@@rainyrec the eows in this setup had more power but was useing a pc/mp3 player for sound the wps 3016 was on half funtioning but orignal controls and the bolt needs a blower
@@Tommy-pv1vh I know that. The Bolt probably makes around 90dB to 100dB without blower or less. I was listing how much they make from the manuals I have.

I tried to attempt to filming the Eastpointe Modulator and it failed, dang siren dud doesn't even look like it was hooked up but that thing is like 5 years old and still doesn't work:(

He did an all tones demo on both dual and single tone back in 2008. It's in a playlist on his channel

Love those Whelen units. But i have a question for you.. A neighbor is finishing a Lighthouse build for the water front . I am looking into custom fog horns . I was thinking of using a Whelen 4004 horn mounted much like you have there , on a concrete slab next to the base of the lighthouse. ,With rotator turned off) Would it have enough carry power in the mid frequency's ? For the modern "beep" tone of the current day foghorn?

He got them at west shore services a siren graveyard in Michigan. Except the EOWS612. He got the EOWS612 from his city.
That is not true. The 612 is owned by Ben and he too also got it from WSS. I bought the Whelen from WSS at the site where the siren use to be located which was Emerson Middle School in Livonia. Ben got the ex-Shelden Park 612 siren from the junkyard almost 10 years after it was brought there.

You can use those speakers on a audio jack cable straight to your phone it won't be as loud though

That is the sound it made when installed. Chicago uses FS modulators, which are the same brand and do produce a similar sound during tornado warnings.
I don’t live there, but I have definitely heard recordings.

why does the tbolt ,eows 612 and the whelen vortex doesn't rotate it rotates
All sirens rotate, the Whelen rotates two directions because all of the speakers wires which it means it has to rotate both directions.
It’s a 3016 whelen. Not a vortex.
First, its not a Vortex. Its a Whelen WPS-3016. Second. The EOWS-612 isn't fully restored. And you can manually turn them off. Plus it is way to loud to rotate them in such a small area.

In most states, it’s perfectly fine as long as you use them when the county does their siren test. If you live in a county/city without a siren system, then you have to get permission from the city council.
