I have always thought that the robot voice that comes after our alarm is the scariest. I am honest to God waiting for a horror game that uses that alarm only for the voice that comes after to start spouting specific warnings to your situation until it eventually starts, specifically, talking to you.
To be fair it's not supposed to be scary, it's supposed to be Attention grabbing. Out of all the ones in the list I feel it's the least "SHIT YOURSELF" sound but one of the most "LOOK AT ME" sounds
I live in Germany and I’ve never heard that German alarm there 😂 The German alarms are actually quite loud and very scary if you don’t expect them. They woke me up in the early morning multiple times now.
I feel like if you knew that it was a emergency alarm you would probably still be freaked out, especially hearing it in the night. At least it’s better than Canada’s though
I live and japan and I get jump scared by them, everything here is calm because it’s kinda obvious in our country something like earthquakes or storm is happening because of the trains that pass by that’s why they don’t want to annoy people here.
Hey, Tennesseean here, that simple EAS we have in America is used for tornado warnings as well, like how it was for us last Wednesday. Every time the storm inched closer, another county got the next tornado warning, and a new EAS was activated, we heard it go off like 7 times, with booming thunder in the background and heavy rain flooding the parking lot. We just sat there wondering if our county was next, not knowing exactly where the tornado was. Haunting, is my emotion towards our EAS.
Actually the Iranian alarm is very well thought out. Lemme give you the context. In the early 1980s when there used to be a war going on in Iran they had these huge jet engine-like sirens that were installed all around the country. Cellphones weren't mainstream at the time and TV and radio while being popular, weren't exactly reliable since the power would go out in case an air strike to black out the entire city. And therefore they used these huge jet sounding sirens so you would be able to hear them everywhere. And they basically kept them this way since people were already familiar with it.
imagine suddenly hearing Germany's eas alarm alone, in an alley way or in an unnecessary long hallway That would literally sound like the start of a indie horror game chase or like going into the creepy part of a horror game
Germany, Japan, India, Finland, France, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Italy, Taiwan, Denmark, South Korea, Philippines, Mexico, and Sweden (ALL IN UNISON): NANI?!?!?!
To be fair, Japan’s alarm siren still get me goosebumps. I lived in Japan during the 2011 Earthquake and this alarms goes off when a massive earthquake hits. And even if I’m not in Japan anymore, if I hear this, my knees go jelly from fear.
2:17 As a Mexican, hearing that alarm hitting while you see a bunch of dust dust rising in the air because of some structures falling apart and a lot of people running from everywhere because an earthquake just hit in is the most scary thing I've ever experienced.
The China one is a little bit scary because the lady that speaking in China is actually counting down the numbers before it happens I also like Germany it gives you a little dance party before you die🤭
Not mentioning the last big flood... our warning system is working different... and not at all with this sound 😅 From this year on we FINALLY also use broadcast warnings... before that we got apps and they got a siren 🚨
" Not scary at all " Well thats the point, Japan doesn't want to give people anxiety about the world ending so they give a soothing little ringtone to keep everyone from screaming their lungs out
The Japan EAS Alarm is actually pretty good, its supposed to be calming so that kids don't panic and people can think properly rather than having the most creepiest alarm ever.
@@ananyanyan that is true. i think it depends on the time- like if it was nighttime and i hear smth peaceful and calm I'd definitely be spooked but in the morning i dont think it would be that scary lol
As an Israeli I can confirm that the alarm showed in this video is an old one, the current one is more sinister like the last one but it kinda a sounds like a whale or a living creature because it goes up in pitch right at the start, it gives this awful feeling of anxiety and we hear this pretty frequently because our country is basically a war zone. At the south people that live there even have worse alarms because they’re right next to an enemy country so they need be on edge every single day. ok sorry for the rambling just needed to make my point
Also the part of the Israel alarm showed in this video is the end of the alarm because it goes down in pitch, but because you hear it across the entire country you’re supposed to hear this multiple times at once, so imagine this is what you’re hearing but multiple times one after the other
The Chinese eas alarm is actually an early earthquake alarm, the voice is actually a countdown that saves people’s lives, the countdown is a warning for people to take cover, it counts down to when the earthquake is estimated to start.
@@GalaxyAkaMustard italy is a recent addition, but you should be fearfull, because in an actual emergency situation you'll only get the average news intro. chemical deposit going in smoke, earthquakes, going back to 9/11 and the various communist terror attacks, always a couple seocnd of black and silence, then the TG nothing short of an actuald direct declaration of war or ovewhelmingly destructinve natural event (talking about full on volcanic eruption or meteor swarm) woul cause that allarm to be sounded
I'm Japanese, but I heard the alert of my country for the first time at the time of the Great East Japan Earthquake, so when I hear this sound since then, I'm scared to remember that time.
The main role of Japanese EAS is to notify the exact information about earthquake conditions or to tell people what to do, not to make people panicked. That’s why it doesn’t makes us scared.

I would have bolted for the door . I remember going to another school where the bell sounds like the fire alarm they had at my school . I went all flight mode until the teacher calmed me down
We get our Cold War nuke siren about once a week at times. Cause it’s now used to warn about tornadoes so they constantly test it to make sure it’s okay

Japan actually has different levels of EAS alarms, that was just the first one which was minor disaster alert. For some reason all of the YTers don’t acknowledge this
The Brazilian alarm is actually very scary as Brazil doesn’t usually have many external conflicts, and not much disasters occur. A few diseases from certain bugs may occur once in a few years, but hearing that only to see that the news turned on is scary. If your wondering, no I don’t live in Brazil. The alarm itself isn’t that scary since it’s just a continuous sound, but with those reasons, the alarm would be scary.

0:58 As a Greek, I find this very weird as we've only heard the eas sound only once (during covid to announce the lockdown during the pandemic and what we should do) and during that moment they used the USA sound.

This Japan sound is an Earthquake Early Warning, and after that, the voice "Earthquake Early Warning. Please be careful of strong shaking." If that sound played in TV, so it is actually quite scary. Japanese people think about it especially in connection with the Great East Japan Earthquake, so it may not be scary from the perspective of foreigners. By the way, Japan also has a system called J-ALART for missile warnings, which I think is closer to foreign EAS. From Japanese

Jesus Christ it’s like the loudest shit ever
I agree with you.🇺🇸🤷🤷🏻♀️
I remember sitting out on the front porch talking to my neighbor when I was 5-6, that thing came on and I grabbed onto her and asked her what it was and lightning struck the tree in front of our house out of nowhere. That was one of the most terrifying moments of my entire life 😅
Yeah I agree you will consider it scary once you've heard it in real life, for example when it alerts you because of a natural disaster like a tornado.

As an American, I know it doesn’t sound scary, but knowing this is the sound you hear when something real bad happened or is about to happen, it’s a 10/10 scary.
It’s horrifying especially at night and if it’s sever weather that’s when it especially scares the shit out of me. I live in the Midwest and tornadoes are common so that’s such a fun thing to enjoy at 2 AM whenever you think your house is about to get freaking destroyed

The reason that Japan has such a calm alarm is because Japan wants to keep its citizens calm instead of making them panic.

Now how tf do u know

Germany it totaly wrong, the actual german EAS is pretty similar to Israel

Okay Israel’s is terrifying. Play that instead in a horror movie.
No Play Norway Instead
i live in israel, waking up to that at 3 am is the scariest experience i’ve ever had
@@queertearss its pretty scary at the first time.
But when do you woke up at the second time during the night, i was like "Hamas, fuck you. Let me sleep. I got a bagrut Today."
@@sushkoariel7737 Oohhh, that must suck, having bagruiot during covid and terrorist attacks- my cousin had his math bagrut on one of the days of the missile attacks- c'mon Hamas, could you at least wait until AFTER covid???
Okay I agree isreals is actually scary it kinda sounds like slenderman tbh-
France just sounds like a ton of swearing getting censored lmao

Intel inside!
Japan: it’s fine, don’t want u to get scar-
N o r w a y : your souls shall perish before us
They test the alarms two times a year here in Norway. I guess the sound is the reason why 😂 I totally forgot about one of the tests once and thought there was a huge crash with lots of cars beeping - until remembered what date and time it was 😂
And germans are vibing
I do get that alarm lol
someone see that russia flag has bit of italy?
You think it’s scary? Ive heard it so many times that it’s not scary anymore
Even though USA don’t sound scary…
It is way different when it happens, especially if your T.V. volume is blasting
France: Literally beeping in certain patterns like (or is) Morse code.
“Sounds like a microwave-“
Romania: Random Weeeeep-Weeeep-weep sounds.
“Sounds like Morse code.!”
Romania actually has some stupid alert times
France is cursing at us
FRANCH has a swearing problem.
@@ezyvannila5838 how dare you torture Romania it's a beautiful land!
Greece: "unless robots, not scary"

ENEMY AC-130 ABOVE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVE
I agree.
Scp containment breach
And gives off a scp vibe too
Bruh he thinks Greece isn’t scary. It sounds like it’s the fucking end of the world!
I think Japan’s is the scariest, not because of how it sounds but because it’s as if they are suggesting to go into shelter _because if there is no hope of survival there is no point to going into shelter_
yessir and i alive on japan its i feel SCARYYYYYYYYYYY
wow, you really went deep into it
@@diycoo8455 its a vtber not anime
Just being in Japan and an alarm going off should make everyone think they are about to get nuked again
@@kiyoka725 I see you are a man of culture
As a citizen of the USA whenever I hear the eas alarm I say out loud "I hope that child isn't found".
As a Mexican, even knowing that this was just a rating, hearing the alert brought me chills. It is the sismic alert, meaning that after you her that there is a chance that you home becomes a pile of debris.
or also meaning that that's the last sound u gonna hear.
@@ezequiellopez4658 yup
Lol yeah but it also sounds like WOWOWOWWOWOWOW
@@ezequiellopez4658 oof
@@sarahosain1333 indeed. but it is scary nonetheless.
As a New Zealander, I can say first hand that every time the government tests their alarm, It sounds like the world is literally ending
Yes
Surely as a new zealander you know it's not even what the alarm sounds like
As a New Zealander, I have never heard that alarm. I've only heard one similar to the UK's for Covid alerts. I'm happy I've never heard it though. It sounds terrifying...
FR OMG
The China alarm is actually a countdown. It starts at 1 minute, and counts down from there
That makes it even scarier
That's terrifying wtf
