For Japan Travel Navitime, do you happen to know what it means when it says JR Pass but shows a fare amount below? I chose the Japan Rail Pass option so it would show me which trains uses the JR Pass. Other routes showed ¥0 while others are showing fare cost despite being tagged as Japan Rail Pass.
For Japan Travel Navitime, once you chose Japan Rail Pass option, if there is a grey tab on the top right corner indicate "JR Pass", that mean it is cover by JR pass. The fare showing below will always be there whether you apply the JR Pass or not. (it's there for reference) It indicate the basic train fare and additional fare for the various seat options. How the fare is calculated is, the basic fare + either the 3 seat options, then that's your total fare for the ride.
As for 0yen, maybe different train line indicate differently, what is the route that show you 0yen?
@@simplifytravel Thanks for clearing that. Yeah, I think that made more sense now. One example is JR Chuo Line Rapid showed ¥0 then a transfer at Kanda where I should ride the JR Yamanote Line which showed ¥180. Both are covered by JR Pass, but idk why one said 0 while the other showed 180. A transfer in Akihabara where I ride the Tsukuba Express Semi-Rapid. I think this is a subway train and it shows ¥630 which is not covered by the JR Pass.
@@simplifytravel also most subways would show ¥0 except for the last train. Does this mean I don't need to pay fare in these subways until I exit at my destination where I pay the fare shown at that last train? Example: Keio New Line Express and Keio Line Express shows ¥0 but Keio Sagamihara (where I exit) showed ¥360 so I understood this as I pay the fare at exit? Correct em if I'm wrong.
I think many of us, including me can be confused sometime in terms of both JR line and Subways in the same station or location. But just take note, JR Pass don't cover subway lines, they only cover JR lines. In order to spot the differences in Tokyo, most JR line signs are square whereby the subway line signs are round. Maybe thats why it shows the cost.
Yes, you will pay the fare at the exit station.
