I know what you're thinking: the studio is cashing in with a film that has Barbara Stanwyck and Jeopardy in the title. But this is well done, good script.
Great little movie. Stanwyck shines!! I think it's a "Film Noir" although it is systematically denied such qualification "NOIR". And for its part, Film NOIR is considered to be other films that have very little "NOIR". In JEOPARDY (1953) at least we have: Barbara, Meeker, voiceover (female*), a criminal on the run, a woman forced to give up her body, bittersweet ending with the fate of the criminal who may not be so bad.
