Much like the film’s title, the production of Doctor Strange 2 was filled with madness. I mean, Scott Derrickson was supposed to make Doctor Strange 2, but he wanted to make a no-holds-barred weird, gnarly, scary movie, much on the lines of the 2018 film Hereditary or the 2015 film The Witch. However, there were creative differences between Marvel and Derrickson, which led to him exiting the film. Derrickson went on to make the 2022 film The Black Phone, a horror masterpiece, and Doctor Strange was slated for a May 2020 release. But to make things worse, the world got struck by the pandemic, and the production was further delayed. In the end, Sam Raimi managed to create a rather wonderful film, but all the barriers during the developmental and production stages led to several issues, which ultimately led to certain scenes being reshot or being outright eliminated from the final cut. I mean, when Sam Raimi took the directorial reigns, only half the film had been written and they were still figuring out an ending. Furthermore, Raimi confirmed in a recent interview that he wished to make a much longer film, alas! Nevertheless, in this video, we will explore every deleted scene from Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness, and we’ll also deep dive into the various differences between the trailer and the actual film. In Marvel comics, it's 100% established that Reed Richards is smarter than Tony Stark. At one point, Tony Stark gets cosmic-level powers and gives every person in New York City intelligence equal to his own. Reed Richards notices a reduction in his mental acuity.
Idk if that's establishing it, as much as it could be a jab at Tony. I mean I feel most friends would make that joke in this situation.

That was probably this movies biggest flaw. Trying too hard to create a grey area for Wanda, trying not to make her evil but trying to challenge her good side. They made the mistake by having her kill the sorcerers at near the beginning of the film. If you wanted her to be a grey area or anti hero, they should’ve showed more conflict with herself before going full on murder.
She was being reasonable before.

@@jeremiahcormack4859 She was corrupted by the Darkhold. When strange is corrupted by it he destroys entire universes and murders other versions of himself. He is still the hero of the story.
People tend to do the most despicable things when they are influenced by bad actors at a time of desperation.
@@Dizzykitty817 yeah I understand that within the movie, but I guess bad story writing because after she kills the wizards, she does a complete 180 and won’t kill strange and Wong or steal America’s powers when she clearly has every opportunity too, in so many different scenes especially the ending. So, for me this movies writing fell flat.
@@jeremiahcormack4859 I think she could've done it all, but they should film some shots with her seeing what she's done, feeling bad about it and showing some more clear signs, that it's the Darkhold that's twisting her mind.
I think changing Sinister Strange’s line from “things just got out of hand” to “that was probably me” was a good decision considering what he was talking about.

People forget that things are often done intentionally for trailers; it may not be that they just changed it in post.
Look at Strange in No Way Home; the trailer had him saying please science this stuff instead of science this shit. That was intentional and only done for the trailer.

The scene from the trailer where Wanda says “this is going to be fun” is actually dubbed just to make it more “interesting” in the trailer. It’s the same scene from a movie where the line is actually “that’s what every mother does”.

Putting the battle at Kamar Taj in the middle of the movie and making it shorter makes sense in a storyline/directorial way. Having the battle at the end would have looked epic because this army of sorcerers was going to come together to put up a final defense against one powerful being; making them appear equally powerful. But instead it boasts Wanda immense power by showing early that this army really isn't as strong as people would expect... wiping them out in just a handful of minutes.
I'd disagree on the last part; it showed Wanda had gained such immense power by using the Darkhold. Kamer Taj was powerful but she managed to work her way in through a weak spot.
In the ending, she was subdued into submission emotionally by Strange's faith in Chavez and Chavez' newfound confidence because of him.
Completely agree the battle was best at the middle. Any redemption arc after 1 Vs many would not have paid off.
I have to disagree that Wanda gain power from the Darkhold for many many reasons.
1. Because Wanda only gained knowledge of how to use her power from the Darkhold, she didn’t gain power and a great example is that Wanda defeated earth 616 Dr. Strange like he was nothing but a mere dust, like no fight between them lasted 10 seconds and strange admitted that he stand no chance against the scarlet witch, but our strange which is earth 616 strange was able to beat and kill the other Strange with the Darkhold, if the Darkhold gave immense power then our strange wouldn’t have stood a chance against Darkhold strange as Darkhold strange would have beaten him just as easily as Wanda beat him, but our strange was able to actually kill Darkhold strange so that alone shows that the Darkhold doesn’t give power as earth 616 strange would have been easily overpowered in that fight and lose quite easily but instead he actually killed Darkhold strange.
2. Strange had the Darkhold while he dreamwalked and Wanda was actually gonna kill him if America Chavez didn’t intervene by hitting Wanda with a punch.
I wish they would have given Sam complete creative control. He's one of those rare directors who could have made the film much darker yet comical enough to fit into the recent trend of Marvel films.
I just wish they let him make it as long as it needed to be it just felt rushed by the end.
We can only hope that the movie will get an extended re-released in theaters or in a special edition Blu-ray.

@@wzroq They are a bit antiquated by todays comic movie standards but it's success is what kicked off the genre as we see it today. Just look at what came before. The only one that was sold as a comic book movie and had success was the first X-Mex movie and they were scared to even keep the costumes remotely comics accurate.
And personally I still think the first two were very good, certainly better than the majority of the latest phase of Marvel...

I loved Keaton's Batman but maybe it's couse it was the 1st movie i've ever seen in the cinema.

Finding out that this movie was delayed and reshot so much makes me understand why the movie has such a weird tone. Like half kids movie half horror movie and glued together by a superhero movie.
Honestly I agree the movie should've been longer it just felt so short and it wasn't even a multiverse more like 2 universes and 1 evil strange in a broken one, so like 3.

Well, we all know now that Mordo was killed after confronting Wanda in the original opening scene of the film that they scrapped.

I would've loved to see the 2 Wandas go at it. Granted, 616 Wanda is significantly stronger, given all she's gone through that's grown her magic over time. However, I think 838 Wanda would hold her own, based on her emotions boosting her magic for her to defend herself from being killed and having her kids taken by 616 Wanda. OMG, that'd be a wicked fight.
838 scared of 616.... she trapped under the rubbish, unable to move despite Prof-X tried to pull her out but manage to quick get out of the rubbish all by herself upon see the red cloud of Scarlett Witch that was approaching... she ran faster than Cat in a ran storm. That should give you a hint.

As I said, I believe 838 Wanda would fight with all she's got if it came to defending her kids from being taken & herself from being killed. We know Wanda's emotions boost her Chaos Magic, such as when she shattered all the Ultron bots in Age of Ultron when she felt Pietro die & when she whooped Thanos in Endgame after Vision died. So, even though 616 Wanda is way stronger, 838 Wanda's desire to protect herself & her kids would probably push her to fight harder.

838 Wanda was never scared of 616 Wanda. She actually grew to understand 616 Wanda & why she was the way she was, since their dreams are gateways into each other's lives. 838 Wanda just wanted to keep 616 Wanda away from her kids, but she was never scared of her.

They did confront one another, at the very end. And 838 didn't even put up a fight despite she already witness at first hand just how far 616 would go for her kids. And upon Blasted away, she took almost a whole 5 mins to get up, remember that Wanda 616 took down the entire Kumatach down in less than 2mins?
If SW wasn't trying to calm Tommy & Billy down or if boys weren't there, Wanda 838 would've been killed already.
Old-school fans all know that Hank Pym is the creator of Ultron, though. You mentioned Reed creating Ultron's, and sure the Ultimate's version of Reed did, but Pym created Ultron all the way back in the 1960's on Earth 616.
I feel like there might be a second multiverse movie or a director's cut of this movie because of the split reception of it.
That'd be nice ngl, don't get me wrong, i found this movie pretty good, but a directors cut/remake would be pretty cool too.

A lot of stuff that is in movie trailers is actually filmed just for the trailer and never has any intention of being put into the actual movie.

During the Trial of Magneto comics, after going through Resurrection Protocols, Wanda had a inner conflict with three aspects of herself. Sad they didn't use similar concept.
My only issue was the Illuminati’s fight. They were beaten way too easily, especially heavy fighters like Captain Marvel, Black Bolt and Professor X.
Its the Scarlett Witch who defeat them bro. They are basically nothing compared to her so it is reasonable that they died easily

It was to demonstrate how they underestimated her.
The whole scene was dumb. The smartest man alive just outright tells her what their big weapon was. SW uses instant death magic to kill Black Bolt and Reed, but then engages in a brawl with Captain Carter and Monica Rambeau instead..... and kills the later with nothing more than falling masonry even though we're seen her equivalent fly through multiple space ships completely unharmed in the past. At least there was something cool about tricking Xavier the way she did.
Then we have the stupidest chase scene ever where she shambles after the running protagonists for ages but somehow keeps up with them.
God it's so moronic.
One of the most ridicolous faults in the plot of the movie is letting evil scarlet survive being both a psycho killer and the saviour of the universes. The movie should have been ended with both Strange and good Scarlet defeating her. But Disney needs only ruthless powerful woman models

I agree. My film buddies and I have been talking a lot about Fandoms and how culture is making it impossible to just enjoy things lately. Whether it's a byproduct of all the social issues going on, the post pan world, economic crisis, or social media, we're just a weird spot where everything is hailed as a masterpiece or relentlessly torn a part. There's no middle area anymore.
@BIG DICK ClUTCH I disagree. Look around, there's literally hundreds of movies made every year. So many different voices, originality, boundary pushing stories and twists on existing narratives. I hear people say this a lot, but there's so much they don't watch or refuse to look beyond blockbuster films. We live in an era in which there's so much to explore.
People are disillusioned, sure, but not because of a lack of good content. They're disillusioned because they have everything at their fingertips and it's easier to get lost now more than ever. But there's a lot to appreciate if you look.
Bro tom cruise as ultimate iron man would be the biggest miss step ever, the dudes not remotely convincing on screen.
Remember when a studio was bullied into making a better film? That was the studio that made Sonic The Hedgehog and because viewers hated it so much and said that sonic looked bad in some ways I will not repeat, they redid the movie. Essentially, people bullied the studio into making a better film. I hate to say this, but what those people did made the studio make a GREAT movie and I hate to say this, but maybe this is needed again.

If these deleted scenes were in the actual film, I think it would have gave me a better feel for this one because without them I felt it was below average

By darker I mean when the Scarlet Witch attacked Kamar-Taj she appeared in a dark cloud with partly red energy when she showed up and puff was bright sunshine again. This scene would have been so dark and epic if the fight had been accompanied by a dark change in the weather or something. I imagine it optically like in the final fight of Harry Potter when Voldemort attacks Hogwarts - this attack works only half as well in the sun's rays as it does in the dark night.... And yet it's still child-friendly - in every stupid comic series the clouds pull together when an opponent comes xD.
And by epic I also meant the fight with the Iluminati but especially with Captain Marvel - the fight will never happen again and he deserves more love.

I fully agree but also at the same time they can only go so epic right now with everything that’s coming up. You get super epic now that means the next one has to top that. Gotta have a bit of lower expectations when trying to bring like 70 years worth of comics and stories to a big screen

In What If? Dr. Strange was depicted as Strange Supreme, in MOM he's depicted as Sinister Strange. Two different characters
Arguably they were considered the SAME character. He had the eye of agamotto, he was corrupted by the darkhold and his universe was destroyed. They are definitely the same to me

Marvel was known to create extra footage to throw off fans in early teaser trailers! Remember when the Hulk busted out of the Hulkbuster armor?
many statements shown in trailer referred to spidermans no way home continuty rather than the 2nd installment of doctor strange cause, you may note wanda says to strange that dont break the multiverse anymore and stuff in trailer it clearly made us feel that dr, strange caused some damage to multiverse with his spell but the whole movie turned out to be something else which foccussed on wanda and chavez which was pretty much useless as wanda vision series has done many justification to wanda s character and chavez was not needed at the point, it hould have focussed on repairing the fringes brought in multiverse or that sort of storyline which continues spidermans script but focussing more on our dr. strange and eeping spiderman as sidekick just like the vice versa of spiderman no way home.
I had more expectations from this movie but this movie seemed to deal with something else entirely.
So no deleted scenes then.

Captain Marvel mirrored Iron Man perfectly including his potting on his helmet before battle and all his attack moves. They just reshot they scenes without Tom since the cameo was already leaked.

I remember seeing in a comic where some version of Iron Man ( think it was cosmic iron man ) gave everyone his intelligence and someone said to mr fantastic 'how do you feel reed?' And then he said 'I think I just got dumber'. This proves that mr fantastic is smarter than iron man.

Robert E. Howard Estate won’t let Marvel use the name, anymore. He was created for the Conan books, used in Marvel’s comics, but they no longer have that license to use him, so renamed him Gargantos, after a similarly styled character.
(Much the same way MCU can NOT use their OC Micronauts characters (Bug, Rann, Mari), as some loophole only allows Hasbro the rights to them. James Gunn admitted he asked to use Bug for all three Guardians films, but was denied each time.)
It would be amazing if Ian McKellen was in the movie As Wanda's father, the true and legendary Magneto and The Vision in the film also lacked Wanda's husband from this universe 838 With Wanda's children from that universe Along with Balder the seventh member of the Iluminatis and also the 2008 Hulk as rumors promised and the legendary Tom Cruise the Superior Iron Man I missed these characters in the movie Marvel missed the opportunity to make them sad, so who else missed it? 😢😔 Like and bye

There was supposed to be more scenes into different universes, strange and america even getting stuck in the marvel zombies universe, Tobey Maguire and Andrew were supposed to be in the film, Tobey was supposed to get killed by the scarlett witch as well and a lot of other stuff...its really sad all of the content that got cut :/
This movie was the only marvel movie that I was deeply disappointed in. I was super hyped to see it and when I watched it on Disney plus it was not what I was expecting.. they could’ve done better

I enjoyed this video even if his information seems for a lack of a better word loose. the sound of his voice (Patrick Stewart cross Stewie from Family Guy) gives me a false feeling of credibility. And if Tom Cruise really had a cameo there is no way they would really cut it out of the movie to much

I think Henry Pym made the Ultron bots in almost every version of the comics, not Reed Richards. He may have used them in the Ultimate universe, where he was a supervillain. Pym was an original Avenger and not older as he is in the MCU.
