Thanks! A fine parachute. Although not legally required, I would say that every glider pilot should have a jumping experience, at least a couple tandems. It happened to my comrades leave the sailplane - it should not be the first jump in the life indeed.
I'm sure your experience of that jump will increase your confidence, should you ever have to jump.A big investment, but a very good one..........................................
You are right and I could not agree more, this totally boosted my confidence! That's why we actually went jumping in the next day. You can find the video about this experience on my channel, too. :)
Cool to see skydiving gear in free flight sports. The rig, harness, canopy, spring loaded PC and free bag is identical to a skydiving reserve setup. Interested to see how ye deal with a two out scenario.
@@robertwarner5963 your correct. Not sure if I was drunk or was mistaking the RSL connection for something else. The soft pilot rigs typically have one parachute
You know they say Paratac Parachutes folded by Steffan have to be double checked in case of melting during folding. 😉 Just kidding. I am sure they are 🔥 fireproof so hopefully there was not too much damage.
It is mostly because of glider pilots are sometimes flying in groups (especially during competitions) and close together in thermals. It’s because of the risk of hitting each other. Something you usually don’t do in a powered airplane. If you circle with 20 other gliders in the same thermal you understand the risk.
Pilot emergency parachutes are worn by test pilots, glider pilots, aerobatic pilots and some warbird pilots. Test pilots wear parachutes fro the first few flights of any new design, or immediately after the airplane is manufactured (doubly important with amateur-built airplanes.). Glider pilots tend to gaggle, spiraling in the same thermal, vastly increasing the risk of collisions. Aerobatic pilots wear parachutes because of the risk of structural collapse during tight loops and rolls. Finally, warbird pilots tend to wear parachutes because of the risk of collisions while flying in formation.
Never take off the emergency parachute before getting out of the glider, because if it ever comes to an emergency you have trained yourself to remove the parachute before exiting the aircraft.
Great chemistry between you two.
Can't believe how small it folds. You have to be an expert packer. Would like to see it on you in the glider. Happy gliding.
its not the kind of packing you'd want to do on a set of rigging more than once. If I flew I'd get me one of these!

Mega 😍 total interessant sowas mal zu sehen und dein Fallschirm ist so hübsch geworden.
Vielen lieben Dank!😊 steckt von Paratec & mit viel Liebe zum Detail drin🥰

If you look closely you will see that a two-out is impossible because there is only one parachute canopy in most pilot emergency parachutes.

Was it a little warm inside that building? wink.
Why do glider pilot use parachute but not ordinarily pilots?

good
Thank you! ✈

Say it louder!!! That's what all good flight instructors and airfields teach! Thanks for this reminder 🙏

Damn, 70 kilo is average man? Is 20 cm also average?
sorry, I took my ex boyfriend for reference... haha well
