I bought the same set up for the PS2 version of Ace Combat5 and it doesnt have a " dead zone " it is completely sensitve and it works GREAT. The long cord between the two is completely nessesary if your going to position it realistically on either side of you as it is in the actual plane. I built myself a complete cockpit to play that game and it makes for a very nice enclosed environment giving a much more real feeling than using the standard controller.
The purpose for the long cord between units is so that if you want, you can put the controllers on the left and right of you to simulate you sitting in a cockpit. That is if you have the chair and tables to use.
Hey, I saw all your questions to other youtube users about the bundle, and noticed you weren't getting the info you needed. So it was you who motivated me to make this video really. And yeah, its a real shame the sticks don't work too well.
the reason the white wire is long is because the joystick is supposed to be on the right side of your chair and the throttle is supposed to be on the opposite side of the chair, they are not meant to be right next to eachother
Just picked the flightstick bundle up for $100 at BestBuy, and it is fantastic. It makes Ace Combat one of the most fun games on the 360, and I highly recommend it. It does have rumble feedback, and the deadzone is not a problem at all when you are playing it. For the price, it's a bargain!
Do you connect the Flight stick with an USB Cable on the 360? Because AC7 is Released and i bought the Release edition of AC7, and Become AC6 Digital for Free - it exists a Flight stick for AC7 like yours for AC6 but this for AC7 is from Trustmaster, when i buy the Stick for AC7 is this Possible to Play AC6 with a AC7 Stick (thats normally constructed for Xbox One) but the Stick have USB - Can i Use the Stick then on AC6 on my Xbox One and/or AC6 on Xbox 360? 😂 (i have Both Consoles, and have AC6 on Both)

I'm hoping you can help me with an issue I have with this flight stick. I bought a used one on eBay. I went to plug it into my XBox 360 S console and could not find any plug that the connector would fit in. It seems the connectors come in a form of PS/2 connector or a USB. I am not referring to Play Station with the "PS", but the designation of the coupler. I have the PS/2 sort. I say "sort" because it is not a typical PS/2 connector with the pins in them, but this one on the flight stick has the same outer housing, but there is a long plastic piece in the middle. Does Xbox 360 make an adapter for my particular problem? Thanks for any advice you could give me.
I know that this is totally not relevant anymore, but the massive deadzone problem is with the game and not the stick itself. Using it for similar flight based games on PC, there is absolutely no deadzone, so I don't know why the game it was made for has it that bad.
My sticks BROKE. I took them to a shop and they are fixing them up to working condition. It is costing me $80. I am so thrilled to get it back. I use these on ace combat, HAWX, Arma 2, BattleField 2. works great with PC flight Games.
I was at a Best Buy in Connecticut last month, and they actually had two copies of this in stock. I was kind of surprised, but I guess the epic $150.00 price tag scared most shoppers away.
True story, I pre-ordered Ace combat 5 just the game, awhile back for PS2 and was with my mom. Brought the receipt and he got a ladder out went to the top shelf and pulled down this huge box, and was like "Well there you go...". I was so excited and said mom gimmie your keys and ran out to the car and threw it in there just in case he realized what he had done. I scored the Flightstick bundle that retailed for 130$ for 50$. I recently just parted with it for 90$ to buy Mass Effect 2 etc. :

Hey, I just got mine (check timestamp) used from a local game shop. It was the only one I have seen in the stores, and I had to ask one of the employees to go check in the back. I paid $40.99CDN, roughly 27 euros? Either way, I just wanted to let you know that mine vibrate, but I noticed my deadzone is noticeably smaller, so they might be from a newer production run. Yo that long cord u talked about is for the use of the controllers when u r in a chair that u can mount them to. So that is why the give u that long controller.
about the long wire....... the F16 has the throttle on one side of the cockpit and the stick on the other so u might wana do that so tht might be the reason for the long wire

after a few years, on the pc, it works great for arma 3, not much of a deadzone. and works great for a temporay joystick. depends on your style of play for sure
Just bought mine, its pretty sweet... this guy said there is no force feedback but in actually there is, when you go to full burn the joystick shakes... other than that i havent had too much time to mess around with it yet
@pathofchaos1 what people do is have a spare set of charged batteries. When the ones on the gamepad run out, replace and recharge, no waiting time. Modern mouses/gamepads have built in batteries and charge by USB. They are always charged. Technically you have both wireless and wired (when charging). Yes wired is cheaper. But so is writing in a piece of paper. And yet, here we are writing in the computer. Versatility.

Particularly about the two twiddly knobs on the throttle that do nothing. :-)
very true mate. it is very unforgivable with the price it carries for the manufacturers to not make it uptodate. i hope in the future they will learn from this one.
I just bought a new and it works pretty well, also vibrates. I also use a fssb cougar and fly Falcon4 on the pc. This is actually pretty fun and works well , not perfect, but better then the controller.
Ok, I can understand being disappointed in the fact that it isn't wireless. Heck, I was too when I got mine. But I have never had any trouble with the stick having a dead zone. So I don't know what's wrong with his. One question: What is "rubberized plastic?"
That looks like a white reskin and slight remold of the old, and I'm thinking 1998/9 Top Gun flight stick throttle combo. Back then it was modeled on the real F16 parts.
hey sajid, got this controller myself (from ebay....paid ridiculous money lol...but i had to have it) this package is an exact copy (only in white) of the saitek X36 pack with the rotary controls deactivated. cos it cost me that much i went crazy and built a cockpit for it with a 20" monitor and a centre console and 4.1 surround system . ill post a video of it for you (to show you why you get the really long cable stop the "dead zone " by adusting the tension on the bottom of the stick.
I was looking at getting the Hori EX Black version of this controler which was only released in Japan for the 360. I was told the controler should with with my Xbox but not sure if the my version of Ace combat 6 will run it or not. The hori EX also has rumble this time around which the special edition did not? The EX was released last year so maybe they fixed some of the issues which are mentioned in this review.
Yes all controklers have a dead-zone but if u notice the size, this ones is much much bigger. Most 360 contollers dead-zones are so small they are almost non-existant.
the reason there is a long cord at the back is so you can put the throttle in a position where it would be in real life,no jets have the throttle right next to the stick,they are usually on the right or left hand side next to the leg. so its hardly a dissapointing feature....LEARN BEFORE YOU REVIEW
What do you expect? It's an X52 gimped down with half the features missing. The wheels are for controlling your trim and vectoring: Wat? Oh, that means you can point your nose one way and actually FLY in another (Like High-G but far more dynamic and interesting). For anyone who's still sat here going "buh?", look over MIG-29 OVT and be wowed, then be annoyed you can't do it in Ace Combat yet. :)
No dead zones on mine either- must have a lemon-that can be fixed pretty easily (quality control must have been bad the day they made his). Vibration isn't a prob on this game or Hawx- Works great with Hawx-in fact it is even funner with that game. Haven't tried Blazing Angels II yet. I didn't think the buttons felt cheap-again maybe he got a returned model. The wire is long- not sure either why they made it so long-kind of a knit pick thing though.
Very nice review. however, the long cable between two joysticks is not ridiculous but very smart. If you know the real cockpits of F-16, F-22, etc. it is very clear. you must also know if you have ever used T.Flight Hotas X whose cable is too short to put them in between you.
I agree,WHY don't they just give you a CHOICE to ADJUST the freeplay for your stick interface?! I'mean, My GOD, Would it really be THAT hard to just have a "Sensitivity" adjuster, In-game, that would just bring the active zone of the stick closer to the center as you increase it? -AM I ON CRAZY PILLS!? Plus-That ONE mission where you have to maneuver through a canyon to the targets, -while your USELESS wingman gets there 1st and doesn't shoot a damn thing & gives you away is just inexcusable.
First of all I doubt that's true, and secondly-the problem is not a delay in reaction time. The dead zone does not recognise any movement whatsoever-I thought this was EXTREMELY clear in the video but I guess not...
Its not about how hard you push the stick, but at which point it actually it recognises you are doing anything. Once it does finally sense your movements, you can be as gentle as you like
@pyroman58ify It depends on the plane youre flying like a F-16 you would do that but not in a FA/18F superhornet because the joystick would go between your legs and throttle to the left of you.
@kriptonis then buffer times before you can play over just having a wired controller and keep playing till the controller wares out. only reason why people don't have wire is either they don't have room to dedicate space to gaming, don't like taking care of a wire's all together,(which doesn't mean anything) or they have animals if you have the room and your animals are well trained(or they are not in your room or you don't have any or they simply don't go after your wires) use wires its cheaper

The long cord isn't at all ridulous. I got to play around with one of the air forces FA-18 Flight simulators. The controls are very spread apart and your, quite ironically, comfortably sat in a seat that could be a recliner in ur bedroom. What they're simply doing is if you want to recreat this life-like affect that you have in a real aircraft only in your own chair. Besides the cord is easily tied up like on ur video. As for the dead zone, all controllers like that have them, it takes tuning

You can't twist the stick for the rudder. You have your rudder/yaw control on (under) you throttle.

can you use this on HAWX? I have it for AC6 and it gives you a whole different experience. It's worth it if you like the game a lot.
You might need to consider that the joystick was NOT built for the PAL version which is what im guessing your using ?

@USSWISCONSIN64 yes its not like its progammed just for AC6. it is basically a normal controller accept the trigger is held all the time.
I'm not a huge fan of this genre of games but your right Hawx is pretty bad ass. I'll most likely pick it up.
There is vibration on the joystick, I'm not quite sure if it mine is different but mine does vibrate a lot.

Wrong. There was a Hori flight stick bundle for PS2, but it was a bundle for Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. It may still be available on ebay.

no, Ace Combat 6 is exclusive to the 360. no other game consoles have it
I dont have it but i read somewhere that Tom Clancys's HAWX is the only other compatible game so yes it does work.

Umm... I use this Flight stick for my formations and that dead zone isnt right. my flight stick is very sensitive.
