    Happy new year and welcome to 2022! 🥳
    This will be the last Vlog on my blue gsxr. She’s currently undergoing a major change so stay tuned! This was obviously filmed before my crash back in October and I just pushed it back until now bc I had other videos were more relevant at the time. Thanks for tuning in and I hope you all have a great year!!! 🤩🙌🏻

    edit: PS Salt, you and many other RUclipsrs around 2013 are what drove me to start my riding journey. Thanks for that.
    Been riding since 2013 and during the last riding season I high sided my 2014 R1 doing 5 MPH on 2 minute old B.R.A.N.D. N.E.W. tires. Slick tires, slick polished pavement combined with old irrelevant muscle memory = a bad time. This was probably the 6th brand new set of tires I've broken in yet the first time I've ever done that. I "knew" what to expect and still.
    The cherry on top is I believe my TC wasn't functioning at the moment as it had a fault code from the mechanic running it on a rear stand. It needed to be ridden normally for a short time to clear the fault. Even better, my Gopro stopped recording 10 seconds before it happened. At least I waddled over to my irate R1, picked it up like a real boy and hopped back right back on in front of some 50 +/- people whilst completely impeding traffic at an intersection.
    Expect the unexpected.

    I have to add on what you said about the maintenance side of the 3 things you stated. This can be FRUSTRATING to those whom aren’t MECHANICALLY INCLINED. I HAD to turn wrenches as a kid at age 6 , so this stuff comes easy. Been rebuilding GIXXERs for years so routine maintenance is not even a thing. But EVERYONE should dive in and at least try to do maintenance on their Sportbikes.

    I had the same experience received my bike from shop with new tires, chain and sprockets… My rims had some ugly marks and chain had no slack whatsoever. Then I decided to do ALL maintenance myself.
    You can not even come close to use all performance in a 1000cc on road, need a fast track. If you are 220lbs+ or run with a pillion all the time then a 1000cc might be a good option.

    I've always heard them called p*ssy stripes. The bigger the stripes the bigger the 🐈 you are in the cornes.
    My left side had no stripe and the right was about a 1/4", due to my bike being lowered in the front and the headers would scrape if the road dipped. It was a 1994 gsxr1100 set up for street drag. But anyways, now I'm in the mood for some chicken tenders lol.

  • @HalfdeadRider
    @HalfdeadRider 2 года назад +1

    For the most part here in the UK, you won't get shit for any of that, displacement or chicken strips, and you won't see fools crashing everywhere on group rides like you do on group rides from the US. I don't care how much of my tyres I use, I can go fast enough through bends without risking crashing as much, after hitting oil or other dirt or other debris on the road, and have plenty of fun accelerating hard out of those bends too.
    You must have gone to a cowboy mechanic that wanted your chain and sprockets to wear prematurely so you go back for more work, any decent mechanic will do your chain tension to spec. Obviously your chain will tighten more when you get on the bike, and you still need room for movement of the swinging arm with the rear shock as you ride, so too tight can be dangerous.
