- as I've been staying in Paris for the past few weeks, a LOT has happened. At first, I was really enjoying my time. It felt like a series of unfortunate events that kept happening in a short time frame. One of those events was being robbed. I knew Paris was a place where this could happen, but I didn't actually think it would happen to me.

I’ve never listened to such a stressful podcast
literally 😭😭
i was so stressed i felt like i was gonna throw up 😭
But I’m seated
literally so crazy😭😭
literally but i love it bc it feels so real and raw. i love the story time feel to his podcast bc it feels like facetime
So sorry to hear about your awful experience. I think you’re a strong resilient person. Here’s wishing you the best.
This was the CRAZIEST story to follow. France has a real problem with thieves it’s terrible. The inadequacy of the police is shocking as well. But I died laughing at the part of the train ticket cash only machine being BROKEN. You went through it
Tf are you talking about ive lived here my whole life and ive never been robbed once
can we stop with the generalizing bullshit off of one anecdote? its giving terlinally online with a side of media illiteracy
the grass is always greener on the other side. you didn’t get majorly physically hurt while being robbed and relationships and people come and go. it’s a learning experience ryan, it’s a lesson, and as cliche as it may sound it’s a moment of growth as a person, regardless if it was negative. sending you much love on this heartbreak and experience. take your time you don’t owe us anything upload whenever you feel like it and i hope you feel happier
Paris literally sounds terrible based on everything I’ve heard at this point, was never super interested in going definitely don’t want to go now
Don’t let this discourage you from going I’ve heard it’s not like that in every part and learning the culture helps keep you safe from the thieves who prey on tourists
good, american tourists are annoying af anyway
I just found your podcast. I moved to Paris in October and staying in the same neighborhood as you. I am sorry what happened to you. I hope this bad experience does not ruin your thoughts of Paris. Paris really is a wonderful city and full of friendly people that are very helpful in times of need.
got stressed just from listening to this ... also awful flashbacks to when I moved into a new city and took my time replacing my phone's faulty battery (that only worked for like 15 minutes after a full recharging) so I was constantly lost and couldn't contact anyone
Oh my goodness I’m stressed and all the ‘running’ you did got me tired 😂. Glad everything got resolved at the end.
U WERE IN A relationship?!
🧍♂️
he kept it very private which is good
He mentioned him n showed him kinda but omg I thought they beeeeen broke up 😅
i think it was with that tik toker benoftheweek
i sound ignorant but i literally just found him through youtube recommending me the podcast, is he on tiktok or something?? these stories are so fun
This doesn’t surprise me. From what I have heard Paris is filled with crime. I hate that this happened to you :/
@@splumsfrom what i’ve seen and in this video is telling the opposite…
@@splumsmost places with a lot of tourist make for easy pickings for criminals, so most tourist sites (like Paris) have a lot of crime. NYC sucks as well but the crime isn’t comparable to somewhere like Egypt or Paris because its locals taking advantage of newcomers who don’t know the culture
@@splums love how u immediately assumed this person is from NY LOL (its funny)
OMG RYAN I’m so sorry! I hope things get better for you I’m here for your journey always supporting you!
The moral of this story is that no one should EVER put their "entire life" on any damned piece technology. Sadly, Paris has been a crap city for some while. There are so many other neat areas in France to visit and few Americans seem to understand that.
Out here in la is bad too honestly I’m surprised it dint happen here
Moral of the story for me is to backup my damn phone😭 because not having your life on your phone is basically impossible atp
When you taste blood, it´s iron, from the anxiety and panic attack you were having. It's common to taste blood under those attacks.
“I don’t speak French”
Her: “I’m Italian”
😭 had me dying
In 2012 i was pickpocketed in paris. I lost all of my photos and spent the rest of my trip without a phone. To this day im so sad i don’t have those memories
Pay attention in Spain too, my sister and her friends were robbed too and got a similar experience with the police :/
that’s literally horrible, omg i’m so sorry these things happen to you Ryan. i can’t even imagine the shit you had to go thru even the stress oh my
:((((
you should have yelled pickpocket as you were running down the street
lol
I would have asked the cops to let me out of the car so I could go in the restaurant. Some things in Paris take forever you have to do things yourself unfortunately
Sending virtual hugs. That's one rough week. ♥ Glad you're ok though
😢Sorry about all this bad luck. Be very careful in Spain also. Secure all your items. Beware of your surroundings at all times. May your angels keep you safe on all your trips.
where is ladybug and cat noir when u need em 🙄
delusion is the solution sometimes, as sorry i feel for you, this was totally the best distraction from your breakup, i hope you feel better about both things that happened to you ryan 💔
This is going to be one hell of a memory to look back on one day
Im a female, but they fumbled 😭… anyways i hope youre okay Ryan ❤️
I love how you get into all the details ! Thats also how I like to tell stories
u being delulu at ur worst is literally me 😂
i know the frustration of not having a phone while traveling. I bought an esim from the haneda airport in japan and the internet/data wasn’t working. so i basically was without a phone. i had to screenshot google maps and google translate phrases, to get to places it was so frustrating. good thing that lady was there to help you
So sorry you had such a bad experience - try to have fun on your upcoming trips and shake off Paris!
You should take the Myers Briggs personality test! I think you're an ENFJ! I'm sorry this happened to you, you are an amazing story teller
I didn't know he was in a relationship either. I was robbed in the Philippines that really sucks Ryan
Exposed and riduculed by your professor in Japan and now robbed in Paris, not a good year for you.
well just so you know, in tarot after the tower card goes the star card, so everything's gonna get wayyy better
i'm so sorry i hope you feel better and the police was so dumb idek but you at least tried everything. i'm a spaniard i hope you have fun in Barcelona but also take care because like Paris and other German, European cities it's become more insecure lately
I hope France isn’t permanently ruined for u! Maybe for a while u wont go back but this could happen anywhere but i feel like ive heard this many time happening in paris
Why didn’t a phone plan offer a payment plan for your new phone or the original one? So sorry this happened to you. You conveyed your experience in a way that evoked such sympathy and understanding. You are so sweet and entertaining. I hate that this happened to you. I don’t understand why people steal cell phones. They can’t use it without passwords or a provider. It makes no sense. Take care sweetie. There are so many despicable people in this world. This was not your fault. Take care.
bro you are not built to survive in the wild
Those ppl that helped or that were kind to you deserve so many blessings
A lot of people in these comments showing their racism
This was so horrible that it was funny 😮
wow my mom had a similar-ish experience in the metro she got mugged in a station hallway when she was alone, its i think one of the most dangerous spot in Paris, for anyone going please please keep your guard up when using the stations !!
You should visit Argentina or Ecuador next!
I just subscribed and I love how you articulate all of your experiences! Your storytelling is very calming, (although this unfortunate thing happened), I'm glad you're pushing through and sharing your vulnerability with us. Much love from New York :)
I'm so sorry this happened to you. This was honestly the most action packed podcast I've ever heard, it felt like a movie lol. I'm glad you managed to pick yourself up and I hope you'll feel better soon ❤️❤️❤️
The background of this video 😭 I wish I was there painting
No wonder you get robbed. Good thing you didn't chase him in dark alley.
your experience was very bland, just because it's a very normal Paris daily activity
I am so sorry that this happened to you. I’m sending you some good vibes ❤ I just found your channel today but I’m so happy I did! I really enjoy your content 😊
Omg you never use your ph on the train! The train is where you get robbed pickpocketed
I'm really sorry Ryan, sending u lots of love and power and ofc hugs, i hope everything will get better for you soon
Hi Ryan, I love your personality, I subscribed to both of your channels 💖I relate to ALL of your experiences ! I left my home Country, Italy, just before finishing university and I graduated while I was living in Paris. Even though Paris is such a huge and romantic dream for so many people, the level of criminality I have experienced while living there made it a nightmare for me ! I left Paris to live in London which is a heaven of peace and safety compared to the Parisian criminality always on the rise ! I do not understand why the government doesn't seem to do anything against it ! I still want to go back to Paris, one day, but it will be with someone special, there are so many beautiful things to see and experience in Paris, but you have to be in "War zone mode" if you let your guard down someone will rob or scam you, that 's just how it is ... we cannot change it , but if we know we can deal with it better and have a better experience 💕 thanks for sharing you are amazing and with this video you inspire and give hope to so many other people in similar situations around the world. Ryan you are a Star ⭐ keep shining ✨my darling ! Love, Silvia , Molly 🐼 & Laya 🐻 Xxx
I'm a new subscriber to both of your channels. I like how you're traveling and seeing the world it's so inspiring. I'm so sorry this happened to you. You're very brave for trying to get your belongings back. You living your best life then this happens. I'm sending positive energy your way. ❤️
u handled this situation with so much maturity good fucking job 👏👏👏i cant imagine how terrible u felt throughout that, I would completely give up in this situation
Ryan you’ve been going through it this week, i’m so so sorry you’ve been going through it so bad. I hope the rest of
your time in Paris is smoother and that life starts kicking back for you. always love ❤
This brings me back to getting a pretty expensive camera stolen in London with all my European pics on it. Criminals have lot of on the job training. Sorry this happened to you. Apple care is worth it.
Stay strong! Experiences like this are part of life sadly. I am glad you worked your way through it. Just look at all the great content you got from this tragedy. Btw WE ALL want to hear about your relationship story. You will love Barcelona, I was there last summer.
Unfortunately Barcelona also has a big problem with thieves and tourists being targeted, Europe is not so safe for tourists
@@xxxxxxxxx1652 that’s unfortunate, I was in BCN in June and was fortunate, but I am always vigilant about what is going on around me.
Unfortunately this happens a lot to tourists in Paris. The snatching the phone before the doors close is a very commun way. In paris you should ideally not use an iPhone (they get noticed easily) but if you do when you use it in the metro always keep a finger at the top. It's a good trick that works
I’m sorry you’re going through a bit of a rough patch in life. I’m glad you got out of Paris. Please be careful in Spain. Praying you heal from your breakup. Sending love and hugs. 💕💕💕
CRAZY story! So sorry this happened to you. ❤️ #1 lesson? BACK EVERYTHING UP! Learned that the hard way.
I live in rural France, in a thankfully peaceful area where we’re all friendly with each other, and I avoid big cities like the plague. We’re used to hear stories like yours. I’m sorry that happened to you
I also live in rural France, and yeah sure it's mostly safe, but there are also no jobs and it's boring as sh. Win some, lose some
Omg u gotta insure ur ph! Sorry for all the comments lol
Thanks Ryan, I just finished watching, and wow, I am sorry for all of those horrible things you experienced. I can really relate. You definitely didn't deserve that and things are going to get better for you. Love and Light.
I just backed up my phone😭 I never thought about how this could happen
Hi There! New subscriber here! Found you on my feed at random. So sorry this happened to you and glad to see you pushed through all the obstacles because i literally would have been crying all over the streets of Paris lol. Despite the circumstances of your story you are a great story teller! Cant wait to watch more of your content!
Love the city hate the people
girl- why dont u back u phone up o iCloud.... like girl its free
i’m so happy and sad to this podcast it was funny but also sad like 😭😭 it’s fucking mix emotions
OH HOW IVE KISSED YOU RYAN HELLOOOO???
MISSED!!!
lol@@robertnaranjo4691
So sorry this happened to you. This will make you stronger for sure.
Paris is a nightmare, France is cool though
I feel this so much my phone also got stolen in parts and it was brand new aswell
omg same when I was in Paris someone stole my AirPods Pro I wanted to die and I didn't get them back
this is the actual true parisian experience, but tourists dont wanna hear about it 😂
I'm sorry to hear that you had such an absolutely terrible week. There's an old saying called "Murphy's Law", which says that "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.".
Your experience seems to prove the validity of Murphy's Law!
But think of what a great story this will make if you ever decide to write an autobiography of your life in the future. This is a chapter in itself!
Also, as a tech geek myself, if you don't already do it, I would suggest backing up all your photos and TikTok videos to an external hard drive plugged into your laptop computer. Once backed up, unplug and store the external drive away until you need to backup more files. Always best to have multiple copies of important things.
Sorry for everything you've experienced. I'm surprised police weren't patrolling at train station and saw you chasing and screaming at the thief. Europe is supposed to have all that Camera Surveillance equipment, seems like police should have a picture and video of the thief. Fortunately you were able to get another phone and getting your life back to normalcy.
Idk what country of Europe you mean, but the thing with surveillance is not the case for most countries here lol
Some of the European police themed television shows and movies often have the police looking over CCTV footage. Cameras are often shown attached to most of the buildings, giving an appearance that everything is under surveillance. I guess it must be another thing the film industry deceives people about. One would think that a public transportation station would have video cameras filming everything though. Here in the United States, I think most public transit stations have video cameras. Actually, I think surveillance is getting excessive. I live in a small city, and we have cameras at the roadway intersections that have traffic signal lights, which they probably look at the recorded video if a significant event occurred in the area, to see what vehicles have come and gone. My work has video cameras now too. With the price for security cameras getting much more affordable, as well as memory storage, cameras are going up everywhere in the US. @@scabbedcinnamonroll6353
My bff slept with a guy in Paris & he refused to leave the hotel room 💓
Front desk girl said they had a consistent problem with him
Petty robbery in Paris is a known serious problem. It's still a lovely city but it's better to do the city with friends if you're not from there. I'm sorry you've had a shit week. I hope things are better now.
The way I had to sit myself down to listen to this podcast this gave me so much emotions 😭😭 made me stress so bad
🤣
This sounds HORRIBLE
omg girl
Omg my heart sank, listening to your delima. So soo sorry ppl sometimes just can't even phantom how it feels unless they've gone thru it🫣.
I've been there it's the worst feeling to be all alone which I was so, you have such a great friend and I'm so happy you've gotten thru it and prevailed.
much love pls take care 😊
It was so funny the part that wind broke your umbrella and that woman wouldn’t stop babbling French and you had to play along omg 😂 🌂
it's part of Paris experience
every word that was said was accurate
imagine not just getting an android and a sim card and saving literally the entire day's worth of a wild goose chase
Your Kim K era 😍
I ate bagels in NYC
was she dating benoftheweek?
i’m pretty sure he dated him yeah.
@@alexhdravs3105 oh he's cancelled
@@alexhdravs3105 but does ben live in tokyo?
@@icemeoutlikeelsa is ben cancelled? why?
@@Wooplot no. Ryan has said that he has been in a long distance relationship. He has never claimed it to be Ben but people are speculating.
Honey, that is quite a story.
I’m so sorry this happened to you. But I heard when you lost important things, it’s sign of turning point in your life! I hope you gonna have good things in your future ❤
Welcome to Paris
you stress me out
RYAN you are so strong omg, im so glad you were able to get through the most of this sending you love omg
