Hey Devin, I write this comment in hopes you actually use a mallet when needed rather than hitting the end of a ratchet handle with your hand. Please do not take your hands for granted as you will regret the damage you are doing to them later on. Takes 2 seconds to grab a mallet for the job. Your builds are awesome and that Evo 8 is impeccable, keep it up!
I'm 70 years old, have done dozens of builders, worked commercial building construction for decades. I wish someone would have told me this and many other things pertaining to taking better care of my body. The man speaks wisdom. Absolutely love these builds, Final Edition with Val may be my favorite. Keep On Buildin' . . .
@@rbe3908I’m also 70 and a physical wreck because I used my body as a tool instead of using lifts and other assists. My hands look like they are made of large marbles and my back is like broken glass.
Too much gym time with the heavy weights as well. I don’t know how many transmission I just grunted into place over the years. He’ll pay for
It later, we all do. “It’s not the years it’s the milage.”
I am not 70 years old but i believe both of them even though this is the internet.
@texaspowerman Amen brother, young people, please "work smarter not harder"
I was also thinking the same thing when I saw it. I’m 42 and have had a touch of carpel tunnel. It’s not a fun experience waking up with a numb hand, I think hitting stuff like that can set it off.
Keep valve cover as is. Looks more stealthy and matches other engine bits well. You could color the Vasyn label to make it pop more.
I think they grey cover is super clean on the build. I think yellow would make it way too poppy and it would look out of place. Also the seats look excellent, I don't know why anyone would think otherwise
NOOOOOO on yellow valve cover.... Leave as is, it's perfect
Finally no leaks! :-) Sorry but your discs are fitted to the wrong sides (right at left side and so on), look at the ventilation in the discs and you understand.
I’ve done that also rushing not paying attention
Watching these videos on my lunch break as a technician hits different 😂cars all day long
Nooo on yellow valve cover! It’s perfect how it is!!! Excellent job bro!
The fact that the steering rack blew out 3 times regardless of who did the seals is more indicative of a bad mating surface rather than 3 failed install attempts.
was gonna say this
Let's goo! 💯 Yellow calipers definitely the way. Valve cover i'd leave it like that, sits nice in the bay like that!
congrats on finally getting the power steering fixed! I would leave the valve cover as-is. I really like the color you chose.
keep the valve cover as it is, it looks great, i would suggest getting a gurney flap for the spoiler :)
The rotors are on the wrong side I tried adding a link showing the brembo. GT rotors on a evo. But it got taken down. You have the left and right side rotors flipped. The vanes for cooking the rotors are facing the wrong way.
At 12:33 I can definitely say that should be the rotor for the right front see my other post about the directional Brembo GT rotors.
the vanes are definitely facing the right way, the air gets cut into the rotor to cool it off if you put that rotor on the other side the air would bounce off and not go into the rotor.
@@PoweredByJesus90 that’s what I use to think. But after a few of my cars got big brake kits the instructions say the vanes are designed to pull the heat away from the center. Like centrifugal force pushing the heat outwards. Because there’s nothing directing air in to the rotors To cool it off. If it were to be designed to be air cooled.
I tried posting a link yesterday showing the brembo GT rotor on a evo from the website to confirm the rotor was on the wrong side but RUclips took down the link.
@PoweredByJesus90 Air behaves like a fluid, and it has mass. The directional veins in aftermarket rotors take advantage of two important physical principles.
1. The air at the outside edge of the rotor is travelling past it faster than the air in the centre of the rotor. This means there is a pressure differential between the inside of the vein and the outside of the vein. Air always moves from a high pressure zone to a low pressure zone all by itself.
2. Air has mass. As I mentioned before, air behaves like a fluid, and thus, it will centrifuge just like water in a centrifugal water pump.
These two principles of fluid dynamics working together make this rotor design far superior to any other for cooling efficiency.
The veins should lean back away from the direction of rotation.
@@notsponsored103 you explained it way better then I did lol. Hopefully he catches these comments before he destroys his wheel bearings.
@@yellowrice1453 thanks mate. There's always more to these things than meets the eye. Hopefully Devin sees your comment.
you should put caps on those bleeders to avoid any problems later on down the road .
Dude. How do you handle all the stress and content. Mad skills brother....
Definitely leave it grey. The bay looks good as is.
Engine bay looks great the way it is. So happy for you about steering finally fixed !
YES!!!! That is the attitude my man!!! Valve should be yellow also..
Perfect choice on the colour matching brembos 💪🏾
Definitely looks amazing and I think paint matching valve cover would look great
The grey valve cover is a sleeper build, but a yellow valve cover would be a nice simple touch.
yellow brakes were definitely the move. i would do the valve cover also
Looks awesome!! Congrats on the PS.
I really like the paint matched calipers! The engine cover might be a bit much though.
The calipers look great color matched! But don’t do the valve cover yellow I think it looks good how it is imo
Gloss black with the groove lines on top in the paint matched yellow! Mint!
Nice work. I like the idea of paint matching the valve cover also.
I really like the gray valve cover, but as a suttle touch you could always pin stripe it in the same yellow you painted the Evo. Love the build from start to finish. Cant wait to see it at a meet or cruising the streets again.
Your brake rotors are on the wrong way. Look at the direction of the vanes
Always Good content. God level work ethic and it shows.👍
Glad you got it all sorted out, such a cool trip watching it come to life!
Gray cover. That car looks perfect as is
The paint match looks awesome 👌🏽
That car is looking gorgeous with the paint match calibers. Just tint the windows and I think some yellow on the engine would look good.
I would love that valve cover to be paint matched! Glad the steering rack worked out
Hell yeah brother!
The bay looks perfect as is IMO
For dual bleeder calipers you always want to start with the inside first to get the air out of the line and bring fluid to the caliper. Since both inner and outter are the same height you can trap an air bubble in the inside if you only do the outter.
I'd say, leave it gray. It goes with the rest of the engine bay such as the struts braces. If you color match it, I think it will stand too much and didn't go with the engine bay that much.
But I don't know man, It's up to you, you're the owner.
Oh yeah, if you have a spare valve cover, maybe paint it yellow just to see how it looks. You can save the gray.
Leave the Valve Cover Grey, Looks good now
Leave the valve cover as is. That take money elsewhere. Get some tint. Tune. And throw some nice subs in there.
Valve cover is perfect leave it as is.
Those front brake discs need swapping from Left to Right - internal vane direction matters for cooling rather than ascetics of the holes
Match valve cover to the grey of the strut bar would look nice and consistent in the bay
You might have just been fighting a bad core. Those teflon seals do wear the metal, one of the reasons that some steering racks have 4-6 seals is the wear and blow then the next seal holds it, eventually they are not rebuildable with out a line hone and over sized seals, which are just about impossible to find. Sometimes you have to source larger ones and cut them down but there is a limit to how big even an oversized seal can be. Then you have to build it up and machine it down. There are people that do that on the early power steering racks that want to go to high end shows, everything else you weld up a different brace and use a new rack from a new car. It’s not a restoration but it gets you on the road. I know they’re not oem but check out powerbastards for alternators. 120 amps at idle and 220 at 2000 rpm. Add an odyssey battery and you’ll have an excellent power system for you builds. The electricity should be as good as the rest of your builds.
Currently a pagid street+ user in Evo VI TME. They work quite good so have no worries. Good brand. An idea about tinting; try Llumar AIR80 for the front windshield. It is almost colorless however it's great for blocking UV and heat radiation.
That rear diffuser is an absolute disgrace to such a perfect car
Gotta imagine you're in the minority there. Matches the OE+ aesthetic perfectly IMO
Agree. It's so bad.
@@kylebehiels3963 nothing OE+ about it
@@kylebehiels3963 I don't know how you think its aesthetically similar. That diffuser is too rounded and wavy for the square body of an Evo. There are better looking diffusers out there (Varis V.2 has my heart), but they cost more than the one he has.
Congratulations on that feeling of getting the ps rack to work. Yes you made the right choice on rotors that’s a lot of $$$ next time. My favorite evo build so far 🔥🔥
Not the valve cover damn it
Leave the valve cover grey 🙌
Tint and don't touch anything! It's perfect!
The paint matched calipers with the wheels look sick! Leave the valve cover...engine bay is clean.
PERFECT!!!!
Looking good dude! I still think it would look way better without that rear diffuser.
Also, leave the valve cover alone. Looks clean as is.
I kinda like the fishbowl look on this build or maybe a super light tint like 50%. Either way the car looks amazing!
Montana Centenial plate look great on the yellow!
Engine bay clean as it is but would look good to with painted valve cover and the turbo too , either way still clean
Yellow calipers was DEF the move. Holy bajeezus that thing is sexy
Tints is what the evo importantly needs
Keep the valve color like that, if you color match it i think it would be to much yellow
“Peasant” 😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥👍 need some Brembo now😂😂🤩lol
I agree! She’s saucey…
Leave the valve cover as is!!
Paint match the rocker cover it will bring out the engine it looks lost in there and love the paint match brakes makes the wheels pop 👍
Yo Devin love the content man you've done some awesome things love the fk8 awd build been watching for a few years what a crazy rack experience, my vote would be to color match the valve cover imo would look very nice and fill in some color into the center bay and make it pop also coil area still black with black oil cap and mabee cover bolts 🤔
Oddly, just paint the tops of each coil pack!!! Boom, done!!
Carbon fiber side mirrors is the move
Glad u got that brake bleeder it was I that sent that glad it worked for couple years saves so much time
Leave the valve color as is or go oem red
Painted yellow matched valve cover but leave the hump black
Leave the valve cover grey
Im very surprised a place will turn drilled rotors, some places I dealt with said "its impossible"
I say ball out and get a nice billet valvecover! Or do something like an HKS theme on it
I'd say change the valve cover to a color that pops and complements yellow like red, paint matching the engine bay along with the calipers might make it look tacky.
Hey Devin... What's that stuff called that you have on the onther side of the hood for the hood scoops called.. I'm adding some hood scoops/ engine air cooler to my Nissan B13 SE-R... I'm hoping that holds out the water...lmk....
Bro that thing looks cherry I love the caliper color!!
DEFINITELY paint match the valve cover. 💯💯💯💯💯
Wow bro,, she looks so good!!
13:35 the song just remind me of BoostedBoiz 😆🤘
Rear diffuser delete would make this so much better
The valve cover would look good paint matched
I told you that on a previous video bleeding the outside bleeder first. When you stated to bleed the inside then the outside and that it hasn’t seemed to matter
The rotors are directional you have them in the wrong sides. Hopefully you see this before the wheel bearings go bad from over heating.
Devin definitely needs to see if you can get a sponsor or just go buy some trickle chargers to many dead batteries almost every car
Match the gray tower brace for the valve cover
Always paint match everything!
Missed you bro❤️
buddy went full Popeye on that rachet lmao
I guess I should be lucky my MR2 didn’t come with the power steering option lol
Idk mane no tints look so clean👌
For sure paint match the valve cover!
Makes you wonder if the rebuild seal kit for the steering rack has the correct size seals in it, maybe they are slightly oversized and not to spec like the original seals, do you still have the original seals to compare with the new?.
You should have painted the brake calipiers the same colour as the strut brace or that blue thats on the pipe just behined the rad in the engine bay, I would leave the rocker cover as it is.
Color match breaks look good in yellow
Please don’t change the valve cover. The engine bay looks perfect. I would match the calipers to the valve cover.
You need to do a face to face picture with the yellow and blue evo
Leave valve cover grey
the red scotchbrite is eq around 600ish grid brother, not 400
Are them disc going in the correct rotation as the cooling veins in between the disc looks like it would be pulling warm air in and not throwing the warm air out away from the discs ?
No to yellow valve cover. Maybe match the strut tower brace, but frankly your custom ignition coils cover wraps it up just nicely and gives it a true OEM + touch to the engine bay.
Not me cringing when the bbk is hanging by the brake line 🙈
I doubt that, if we go on history this car will break.
Peasants is crazy 🤣😂😂😭
SMUNNEY👌🏼
