I made a mistake at 6:26 : it's Chris Isaak and NOT Chris Rea, of course.
A big hug Francis and may you continue to give doses of memories in your videos in 2025😊😊😊😊
I was 6 years old when theses songs were in the charts.
The Railway Children and Thin Lizzy tracks are my favourite in this video 😊
Francis, thank you so much for this. This was the period the UK had a bizzare run of #1s (Cliff-Iron Maiden-Enigma and Bart Simpson). The Bart record was the first one I ever bought. I was six at the time lol. 1991 isn't a vintage year overall (probably the weakest of the 1990s), but there are always gems. Oleta Adams' emotional ballad "Get Here", Wingers' rock ballad "Miles Away" (surprised that wasn't a bigger hit here), a pop gem from Kylie, Soho's "Hippy Chic", KLF's early dance classic, Kenny Thomas' upbeat soul classic "Outstanding", a underrated classic from Queen (Good album too imo) and my #1 here is Mariah's classic "Someday". A true early 90s R&B classic and should have been a huge hit are the stand outs.
@@some.random.baldie2111 I was told the video for Queen's Innuendo cost a few bob, but it was worth it.
@@duncancurtis5108 Defintely and perhaps one of my favourite queen videos. The art is amazing!
Thanks Francis, always look forward to your next upload.
Just a minor correction; 'Blue Hotel' was Chris Isaak not Chris Rea. Perhaps you still had 'Driving Home for Christmas' on your mind! 😊
Ah 1991, some excellent stuff, and nice to hear Pop Will Eat Itself and Jesus Jones side by side. The version of "You Got The Love" from that year should be the one that splices the song with "Your Love" by Frankie Knuckles, which I think is the best version, don't know why that version's not available to stream.
The Love month! LA Mix, Alex O Neal, Mica Paris, Prefab Sprout. Enter Pete Tong, helming the clubbing scene after Jeff Young.
Erm, you my issued Enigma - sadness, and Iron Maiden - Bring your daughter... They were both number one
Songs on here were actually released in Jan 91. Those were released in 1990 and climbed up to no1 in Jan 91.
the Summers Magic hit sampled The Magic Roundabout theme.
Railway Children!
👍
Don’t know 80% of these songs
Kylie - What do I have to do, was my favourite Kylie era and will never be beaten. The album, the singles, the image change, just loved everything about this time in her career.
