- SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy Demonstration Mission launched from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A), Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on 6 February 2018, at 20:45 UTC (15:45 ET). For its maiden flight, Falcon Heavy’s second stage will attempt to place the payload, Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster, into a precessing Earth-Mars elliptical orbit around the Sun. For this first flight test, Falcon Heavy’s two side cores launched the Thaicom 8 satellite (May 2016) and the CRS-9 mission (July 2016). Following booster separation, Falcon Heavy’s two side cores landed at SpaceX’s Landing Zones 1 and 2 (LZ-1 and LZ-2) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. Falcon Heavy’s center core attempted to land on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

I’ve watched this several times! Love the crowd cheering!
Brilliant! I'm looking forward to sharing this with my third grade class!
Hello my name is Trey I was not in your third grade class but I think it’s really cool that your teaching these kids about aerospace please when school is back in courage them to watch launches and if there’s one during the day watch it with them :)
Yo thats awesome for 3rd grade
I watched this on launch day with a class full of military analysts. It inspired quite a few students that day and effected their careers.
I don't care who you are, that's impressive.
I find it such a romantic idea, with the music and sending it to space ... American are still quite cool I’d say.
An incredible day for the world. Way to go Space X!
0:26 *_The best sound._*
Proud of United States of America!!!Go SpaceX!Go human beings!!!!!
What did the US do here? This was Elon Musk and SpaceX
This is SpaceX and is the collective effort of scientists employed and paid by Elon Musk who comes from South Africa but has American and Canadian citizenships. The US Gov't didn't initiate, organize or fund this in any way... this is a private effort.
socksumi exactly couldn't have said it better, myself
wow, amazing stuff!
MAGNIFICO
I swear Elon musk came out the womb saying “hold my beer”
First he built a car....
Then he built a rocket.... Then.... He launched to car into space! Soooo badass!!!! Go spaceX! Go America! Go elon musk! A great day today! Awesome!
No. Elon wouldn't just go for America, but for HUMANITY!
He is not even murican
elon doesnt give ashit bout countries so its basically go mankind!!!
Cory Crandell why america? They are lucky to have elon based in america
how much food for the starving would this stunt have bought
I have to laugh every time I see this because that male announcer looks exactly how he sounds.
I can't understand. How many tickets landed? 2 or 3?
Overlay the launch sequence with driving with the top down
Sounds like being at a ball game.
for extra enjoyment que up Hans Zimmer- what are you going to do when you are not saving the world at 2min 17 seconds(set on repeat) and then play this
Yay, of success
Falcon heavy
What happened to the core?
Надежда Аванесова landed on the barge I believe
richard scales no it crashed into the sea
It exploded and took out 2 engines on the barge since it didn’t have the new titanium fins the outer boosters had
Надежда Аванесова cenici3ntt
A
Jacob J I thought it didn't have enough fuel to slow it down in time to land on the ship
Awesome, but how about a version without the freakin' crowd noise?
Pal, they made it, ran it and deserve every bit of the screams.
AF veteran too. I love the cheers.
I think it adds to the charm.
the crowd is the best part!! i was clapping with them at home :D
We're watching a rocket launch. Hearing people scream and cheer with no rocket noise is like watching an Indy 500 race where the cars make sewing machine noises.
do you want a version without the crowd and with the best audio on the internet? watch SmarterEveryday's video. it was on top of nasa's building where only 20 people are allowed and with calibrated sound. it's the best audio of the launch on the internet.
and comparing this to a race is ridiculous... you have plenty of time to watch it on the internet without noise. the live moment of one of the best engineering moments in history needs to have a crowd
Core?
jim berveling Didnt make iz
crashed into water at 300 miles per hour
Probably the "Spruce Goose" of E. Musk. The market for the ultra-heavy loads is disappearing, the satellites have adapted by reducing their mass. Ariane 6 did a good evaluation by not following this path ...
.i watched this at school
молодцы!
Super reklamní akce.

迈出人类的又一步 --美帝! Great America!
Hm
As nice as this launch is it would be nice to have audio only from the launch site and not all the hoopla from the employees.
Shomedacore
Core coverup. Just kidding xD
philxyz it kind of was actually. On the the live stream the 2 announcers are told "probably" not to say anything, and changed the conversation really quick after it crashed... lol
Yeah - that didn't escape my attention. The show must go on.
Look at all of the ozone depleting gases released!
yes flatearthers, it's cgi... or did elon send up workers to dig a hole trough the dome?
Ahahahhehah.. Nice computer animation at the end.. Full of BS :)
Adam Weishaupt ?
That was the plan, it seems "Exceeded Mars orbit and kept going to the Asteroid Belt" twitter.com/elonmusk/status/961083704230674438
The end is computer animation.Soooo? No one complains about your existence when you stuff yourself full of filters in pictures.
so they wasted tons of money on a space car garbage thats now destroyed... well played dumb humans well played
