As a humble and rusty peasant my most expensive knife is a vanilla PM2, which I only stare at. The knife that lives in my pocket an occasionally sharp saber grind Endura. As much as I admire the more exotic pocket jewelry out there my brain rebels at the cost of a knife over $150, and even that seems excessive. Also this list made Lynn cry, may he forgive you.

10 years ago, when pocket knives were only just getting into powder steels, CRV was using S30V and S35VN way before it was cool. Back then they were really worth the $400; even few high end knives had the fit and finish that CRV did. Now that everyone and there kid brother is making knives with titanium frame lock handles and S35VN blades for $150-200, the Sebenza just isn’t worth it.

I was super impressed with how easy those $250 knives could cut through cardboard! I just threw all my $15 box cutters away. There out of my life! I feel so liberated. And the way that $450 knife chopped that log when bashed with that other little log! I mean come on! That just replaced a $9 saw and a $40 axe! I’m done with the budget bullshit. And to think I’ve been carrying around a $70 multitool for years when I could have been carrying a $200 single blade folder. Shame! I feel so old and gay like Uncle Randy.

Totally unsolicited Sharpmaker cleaning tip: I've had mine since 2007 and always had a tough time cleaning the ceramic stones and knew they weren't working well. 5 minutes using Bar Keepers Friend and green Scotch Brite pads has easily cleaned all the clogged metal off the stones. I forgot how good the sharpening system could be. Plus I cleaned and polished the sink afterwards which gave me some domestic points in the process.

I grew up in Bradford PA, home of the Case knife. Suffice it to say, I never purchased one in my life because all I had to do was wait for my birthday, or Christmas and I would often get one as a gift. Bradford also happens to be the home of the world famous Zippo Mfg. By the way Zippo acquired Case many years ago. Both companies are still going strong.
On a final note, I've never purchased a Zippo lighter either....much the same scenario as the knives. I've gotten many limited edition knives and lighters over the years. Zippo also produced a SS wallet that I gave to about 12 coworkers in Chicago about 5 years ago. They all loved them and still use them to this day. Unfortunately, Zippo no longer makes them.

Now I will make a war for you my top 10 EDC Knives. Now this isn't my favorite 10 pocket knives but knives I carry daily. Not my "Camping knives or Bushcrafty type or Survival or Tacticool Knives Stab Stab tools"
    10. Benchmade Mini Griptilian custom Forest Green G10 handle Satin Sheepsfoot S30V blade 2.9 oz $200
    9. Zero Tolerance 0470 Sinkevich Titanium Marble Carbon Fiber inlay handle Satin 20CV blade 3.3 oz $260

    2. Chris Reeves Sebenza 21 small Titanium with Micarta inlays handle Stonewash Sheepsfoot S35VN blade 2.87 oz $475
    Honorable Mentions
    A Protech TR-5 Black Aluminum handle Black S35VN blade 3.5 oz $200
B Kizer Mini Sheepdog Blue Titanium handle Satin Sheepsfoot/Cleaver S35VN blade 3.25 oz $170
    C Spyderco Manix 2 Black G-10 handle Satin S30V blade 5 oz $110
    1. Spyderco Paramilitary 2 Brown G10 handle Satin S35VN blade 3.75 oz $155
Could have been the PM3 but the issue I have is the handle shape on the PM3 doesn't fit my hand. It is literally everything I want until it is in my hand. With really wide palm my pinky finger just doesn't fit and it has this little bump that just annoys me with it in my hand. If you love the PM2 and you have normal size hands and palms you may love the PM3 more than the PM2.
If you want some Budget knives that could be close for what they give for the money here are 5 in no order
Ontario RAT 2 Coyote Brown nylon handle Satin D2 blade 2.75 oz $40
ESEE Zancudo OD Green polymer handle Stonewash D2 blade 3.06 oz $35
    Kershaw Skyline 1760 Black G-10 handle Stonewash 14C28N blade 2.5 oz $45
Ruike P801SF Stainless Steel handle Stonewash 14C28N blade 4.23 oz $30
Steel Will Cutjack Mini Blue FRN handle Satin D2 blade 3 oz $40

Your writing is absolutely brilliant, world changing. I hope, outside the knife channel, you are working pro or amateur somewhere as a playwright, screenwriter, copywriter, novelist, blogger, journalist, comedian, whatever. I will buy your magnum opus (if I'm not already).

“Let’s take a look at the dimensions of... my deuce.”
Thank you for making my RUclips knife porn adventures more than just a celebration of sharpened steel. Cheers!

Endura 4 and Manix 2 are my favorites, I got them in different steels from Maxamet to VG10 just because their ergonomics. Sometimes I carry a Delica but usually it's too short for food preparation, even cutting cheese. Don't ask me why some people love miniatures as the Dragonfly, I won't have that model. Yes, I am a Spyderco fan and its round hole.

I overheard Advanced Knife Bro at the SHOT show. He was asking the rep from Rusty Randy's knives "How well do your folders baton." Also do they search for rust like a hound dog or wait around for it like a mutt.

I have a BM Fact, comes with a DPC clip... seems to scare regular people when deployed like when cutting a coupon out in line a the food store. So I usually EDC my BM 470 Emissary, with a spring assisted 3" blade and comes with a DPC clip... next most often carried is my BM 940-1, as the S90V steel only needs a touch up to razor sharp, in it only 2.4 ounces, but I had to buy a DPC clip for it, so I invested in a titanium Extra Deep Pocket Carry clip...

I get a kick out of people who won't go over like 4 oz. and they get all bent out of shape when a knife is heavier than that. And yet they will carry a Leatherman wave that is more than twice that.
